So… If you are someone who knows wineries and vineyards, you should probably avoid this place. I think I didn’t realize that a winery like this existed(maybe just my ignorance). I came in with a large party for a friends birthday. The woman let us try many wines but there were quite a few that she’d run out of halfway through and would just basically tell us «that’s it.» If we are paying for a tasting, what sense does it make that you can’t open another bottle for the rest of us? The red wine and most of the whites were not worth it. I was thrown off when she said they get their grapes from California. I guess I just assumed a winery used their own grapes. They had a number of other fruit wines I.E. Blackberry, blueberry, etc. most were super sweet and a clear dessert wine if you could even think of them as that. The woman didn’t give us any info really on any of them, maybe she thought we didn’t care but several of us were serious wine drinkers and we’re looking forward to learning! The cranberry wine was decent, probably good for Thanksgiving. They should maybe rethink their approach because the store itself was really cute and had some great wine accessories.

I can’t believe how rude this owner was! It’s clearly evident why this owner will soon be out of business. I work for a non-profit and was looking to partner with a local winery to use exclusively for all of our fundraising events. We have a lot of promotion surrounding our events, so free publicity would have been an obvious given. I happened upon Plymouth Winery and decided to inquire. I was in no way looking for a donation or free anything, however the moment I started to speak to her, she immediately cut me off shaking her head no and said«No, I don’t give out donations.» I tried explaining that I wasn’t looking for a donation, but she cut me off asking«Do you see how many customers I have in my store?» There was no one in there at the time.(Gee, I wonder why? It couldn’t possibly be because of your negative attitude could it?) «I can’t give you money.» Yet, I wasn’t even looking for money. She wouldn’t even talk to me. This woman needs a course on customer service. Even if she wasn’t interested she could have politely taken the information and said she would look it over. She didn’t have to commit to anything. She was just straight up rude and I wouldn’t even go back to her store for myself, no matter how good the wine might be. I won’t recommend her to anyone either. I won’t give people like that my service or my business. Check out Plymouth Bay Winery up the street. They are decent human beings who know how to talk to people.

I am really surprised by the other reviews. I will agree it is not a winery I walked right past it. It is a store that sells wine and knickknacks. We were greeted when we walked in and was told she’d be right with us. Makes me think the other reviews are fake =/Either way the owner was super friendly and gave us a tasting. I left with four bottles… I’ll be back

First off, I can not attest to the quality of their wine because despite two attempts I never was able to actually try it. I make it a point to try the wine at every wine/vineyard when I am in a new area. I don’t live far from Plymouth, but this was the first time that I every really experienced the town. I called ahead to the Plymouth Winery to inquire about the hours and a few other basic questions, and make sure that their hours were in fact what Unilocal had listed. The woman on the other end of the phone treated me as if I actually didn’t know that wineries MAKE wine. We got their an hour before the woman told me they would be closing, but the establishment was already closed, locked, and there was no sign on the door. This more than a little peeved me, since I made it a point to call and make sure that they would be open. The next day, we tried one more time to visit Plymouth Winery. When we walked in we expressed that we were interested in a tasting, but the woman pretty much just stared at us and very gruffly said«well, we don’t do much business with tourists.» She added that there wasn’t much point since tourists don’t spend money and it’s a waste of time and effort. Before we could say anything, a man walked in and she followed him out. We meandered in the store a moment longer because we really just couldn’t believe what had just happened. I have visited over 50 vineyards/wineries and have NEVER been treated so poorly. Plus, I always buy at least a few bottles and more often than not, I buy a case of wine. I understand that that is not exactly a pallet of wine but the wine that tourists buy adds up. I can say that from this experience, I would not be willing to even try a glass from this winery if I were to see if for 10 cents on a restaurant menu.

The wine is ok but the prices have gone up. The woman who works there needs to improve her personality. She seems like she couldn’t care less about the customer. The whole store needs a through cleaning and what’s the deal with the dog?! He stuck his head in my purse! I wish this place was better.

Avoid at all costs. The owner here is extremely rude. My wife and I went in for one the tastings advertised on the outside of the building, only to be ignored for about 10 mins. She eventually asked what we wanted and when I asked to do a tastings she snorted back ‘depends on what you plan on buying’ and went back to ignoring us! People like this don’t deserve to be in business. Go to Plymouth Bay Winery instead, much nicer people and I am sure better wine.

Really a zero rating Stay away and don’t waste your time. The tastings are free but even that costs too much. The owner makes Oscar the Grouch look happy. She will ignore you even when there is no one in the store. When you ask about tasting she grunts some unintelligible sounds. We looked over the wine list there were some interesting wines but she was going to come over and serve us. I was done but my wife asked to try the Cab-frac. It tasted like vinegar, the bottle must have been open for months. We left and I think she was happy we didn’t buy anything, We thought it must have been us until we ran into several couples who had the exactly the same experience. Go to the other two wineries in Plymouth and help this women reach her dream of going out of business.

The blueberry wine is delicious! The service was soo good. I love the flavor of sweet table wines and this place had it all. The owner was very kind and we loved her dog, even with all of his«dog-ness». I plan to come back again to taste more and probably buy more as well!

I liked my visit to the Plymouth Winery. She offers a $ 5 tasting which includes a wine glass and a few more wines that are not offered with the Free tasting(and no wine glass). Most of the wines used grapes grown in California and some local fruits. I have to agree with the first reviewer that this is not a winery but more a tasting bar. Overall we were pleased with the tasting and the variety of wines… we didn’t go in with high expectations since downtown Plymouth is obviously for tourists.

In my own personal tour of local wineries, this is one I wish I’d skipped. There is no «winery» in this winery. It’s a gift shop with a tasting counter — and I lost my desire to taste anything when the shop owner held up a dirty dog dish to fill it with water. She did this right next to the counter, right in front of us, right before we were about to start sampling. Somewhat unappetiziing, even for someone like me who grew up around animals. The other downer. She only opened one fresh bottle. Every other bottle came from the fridge(where it sat next to the condiments and dog food) or it was already out on the counter. Nothing tasted fresh, so I couldn’t begin to imagine what a good bottle would taste like. Of the wines I did taste, the only ones I really liked was the Cranberry Blush and the Raspberry. Both very sweet wines, but that’s what you get in Plymouth(cranberry and fruit wines). All that aside, the shop owner was nice and I get the impression that she practically lives in the store. She also said that her elderly mother labels all the bottles — which is why many of them have uneven labels. If you’re just wandering around the Plymouth waterfront, this may be a place to stop for the novelty of it all… but don’t expect a quality tasting, and definitely don’t look for a «winery.»
