Had dinner there w/friends last night and it was great, everyone loved their dinner and the calimari was incredible.

What an awesome place! Loved everything about it. Food, service, décor, everything is great. Everything is home made and delicious. Garlic bread was a great starter. Our meals were fantastic. I recommend the chicken tosca. My wife had a salmon special that was great. Leave room for dessert! Service was fantastic. Will return when patio is open for another wonderful meal. Thanks!

The exterior of this place is so cute that I really expected to like it more than 3-stars. The main sticking point keeping me from giving this a higher rating is how cramped the seating is. We were seated upstairs, where there are only three tables. That could be cosy, but the balcony area is so small that it was claustrophobic instead. The other sticking point is that Amici doesn’t have a liquor license. As in, no wine with my delicious Italian dinner! I understand that the owner is trying to rectify this. It’s been a few weeks since I was in, so maybe this is no longer a consideration. Whatever its drawbacks, however, the food is absolutely fabulous. Hand made pasta with hand made sauces and fillings — yum! They do offer carry-out; that will be the way I go next time.

Well this was one of my worst dining experiences EVER. Especially, since I was with my wife and boys(8 and 6). Overall the food was average, service average, pricing average BUT the management(owner) was absolutely terrible beyond belief. If you want average everything with a terrible management staff then this is place for you. If not, there are plenty of other Italian restaurants out there. The issue was a coupon I tried to use from which was 100 legitimate and I can scan in and supply it for review. Well, the owner/manager came over and became loud, rude and almost physical about me trying to use this. He was the one that signed up with them and not me. Basically, he needed to take $ 25.00 off of the bill based on me(the customer) meeting my obligation. He refused this and basically said all he could do is $ 10.00 off and basically I better take it. I told him no which sent him over the edge. He then threatened to call the police if I did not pay my bill. It got worse when I said fine, I would just decline it from my credit card(which I did and Chase came back and adjusted it(took off the $ 25.00)). He became loud, stormed off staying he was calling the police. I really feared for my kids/family and my six year old was almost in tears. He came back almost threw the bill on the table. I paid the bill and left in a hurry so nothing more happened. Wow what an experience for average Italian food. I would advise to stay far, far away from this place. You never know what might happen to you. Rich in Michigan

If this review were strictly based on food it would probably be a five star. You really cannot beat homemade pasta with a great from scratch sauce, to boot it is done extremely well here. In the real world though, there are other considerations in a rating. We had to wait awhile but it was a Saturday night and the place is small. When I say small, I mean claustrophobically small. There are five tables downstairs and three upstairs. The stairs up to the balcony tables are very narrow. Even though we were the ones parked in the handicapped spot, yep we ended up hiking upstairs to sit. Hard on my husbands much surgically repaired knee but we were starved so we took it anywho. It was kind of cute and romantic but be warned if you are tall the upstairs may not be for you, we dined under a slanted eave. The other problem was the temperature, unfortunately the table with the obnoxious child near the A/C did not dress right for the evening and were *too chilly*. They made an executive decision to turn off the air on their own which made it quite sweltering for us as the considerable kitchen heat rose up to the crowded small area. Grrrr. The wait staff is lovely though, hiking upstairs and down cheerfully. I ordered the penne with palomino sauce, meatballs and Italian sausage. It was a delight, perfectly cooked and not oversauced. The meats were both lovely but I liked the delicious meatballs quite a bit more. It came with a salad with house special red wine vinaigrette which was tasty too. I was shocked at the price tag because the other sauces are much cheaper(7 for marinara, 8 for meat, 9 for alfredo and a whopping 11 for palomino, which is NOT listed on the menu). I ended up packing up leftovers though of course. My husband ordered the seafood canneloni which was yummy. It was served with a side of fettucini alfredo which he actually enjoyed more than the canneloni. His salad was topped with the house crafted buttermilk ranch, which was thin rather than gloppy. That works for us, we both prefer thinner dressings. We also split a half order of garlic bread which was buttery and crisp, definitely a happy addition. The pop though is can only and they jack you for 2 dollars per can. Ridiculous really, my husband was especially annoyed. I think they allow BYOB as a couple left with a brown bag of wine as we came in. We threw caution to the wind and ordered dessert. James had tiramisu which was absolutely lovely and dense, perfect flavor. I had the very nice cannoli with the crispy shell, the filling was nice but it could have used garnishes at each end IMO. My coffee was nice but I had to wait until I had finished dessert to get cream and sugar for it :(. Overall I liked it here a lot though. Refillable fountain pop, a downstairs seat and a better temperature would have made it much better. I also think the palomino sauce is outrageously priced but truly delicious at any rate.

Delicious! A great bistro with flavorful homestyle dishes. You’d swear that grandma was sweating away cooking in back. Big props to the chefs on the homemade pasta. The texture is not like any pasta I’ve had at other Italian restaurants. It’s fresh tasting and a tad bit grainy feeling — which is a good thing. This is what sets it apart from pasta at other places. The marinara sauce has big chunks of tomatoes in it, which I absolutely love. The chunkier the better! Really a bright flavorful sauce, which is what sets the whole dish off. The meatballs are big, perfectly seasoned and juicy. The garlic bread is a must. Slightly toasted on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. Perfect amount of garlic flavor. Our waiter was a really excitable guy, eager to please and attentive. In fact, we didn’t even get to open the door to the bistro, because he opened it for us! Love that! My new favorite Italian spot. Believe the rave reviews.

Amici’s is a cute little Italian spot with very affordable standard Italian-American fare. It’s a pretty simple menu, not flashy. If you are looking for some good staples like lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs, it’s a great little spot. The atmosphere is charming inside and out.

This little bistro deserves every star it gets. Owned by 2 brothers, Amici’s is a renovated house in Plymouth just off Mill Street. Everything about this little joint screams charming. It was my sister’s birthday, and she wanted to try some place new, so we went here. One of the owners was our server, and he was fantastic. Anything we wanted he got for us right away. We started with buttery garlic bread which he said came from a homemade italian bakery downtown. I ordered spaghetti palomino with a caesar salad. Oh my word. Everything was fantastic! The palomino sauce was the perfect blend of alfredo and marinara, and the spaghetti was perfectly al dente. Other orders around the table included spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, meatball panini, and italian panini. I was able to sample just about everything and there wasn’t one item less than awesome. I will have to say whatever blend of spices they are using in their meatballs is truly from the gods. Again, the owner/server was fantastic with everything, and even brought out a piece of tiramisu and sang happy birthday to my sister by name! So cool. We finished off the night with a bunch of canoli’s which were by far better than any I’ve had before. Just the right amount of sweet and creamy and the crust was perfectly cinnamon. The prices are incredibly reasonable as our party of 6 was able to eat appetizers, entrée’s and dessert for around $ 60. The atmosphere is charming, the staff was fantastic, and the food was amazing. This will definitely be a repeat.

Unbelievable. This place is so charming and quaint, with an air of traditional Italian romance. Everything the owners are doing is just right. Owned by two brothers(one being the head chef and the other working the dining room), we were greeted by both of them. EVERYTHING on their menu is homemade. EVERYTHING. From the salad dressings to dessert, it was incredible. We had to double check the bill because we seriously thought we were undercharged, but nope, it’s just delicious Italian, great prices in a cozy old house. Absolutely adorable– I have a new favorite Italian restaurant!

What a joy to have an Italian bistro in Old Town! We arrived for our 8:30 reservation with four extra people, and the owner was a model of graciousness putting together outdoor tables that worked perfectly. Pizza for the kids, while the adults ordered from a hand-written list of four spectacular $ 14 specials. I asked the waitress to bring me something good, which proved a great strategy, since she produced a really memorable chicken dish. Wonderfully personal, attentive service.

I want to love this place because it’s so cute but I just can’t. I am giving it two stars simply because of the ambiance. It is in a cute converted house in Old Town. To be fair we did have a party of 13 and they don’t seem to be used to that. For dinner I ordered the chicken parm. Be warned the chicken is grilled not battered and fried. I asked that they use the meat sauce instead of the marinara. When the meal came out it was slathered in marinara. I reminded the waitress that mine was supposed to have meat sauce so she took it back in the kitchen where they poured meatsauce over the marinara which ended up as a watery mess. Neither sauce had much flavor although I did find some chunks of fresh garlic(not sure where the garlic flavor went though because I never tasted it…). All in all it was a very bland meal. I want to go back and give this place another whirl because it is new and I am sure they are working out the kinks and it is really cute, however I will probably bring some of my own sauce just to be safe…

Just knew this as a carry-out sandwich place in the past, but thought we’d check it out. Glad I did! Small place(6 tables on 1st floor) with an open kitchen and friendly staff(the owner stopped by several times), a simple salad, pasta and pizza menu. Brightly and cheerfully decorated. We had the seafood pasta special and a simple spaghetti marinara. both were made of fresh, homemade pasta(it was obvious from the tasting) and used fresh, fragrant tomatoes and basil — yum! Medium priced.

Amicis is a another great addition to downtown Plymouth(acutally Old Town). It’s a rather small, converted house style restaurant that has approximately 5 – 6 tables inside for seating. We mostly use Amicis for take-out. I’ve had their Chicken Parm sandwich, their Classic Italian, their pastas with red sauce and meat sauce. The sandwiches are great, made from scratch with healthy portions. I love their classic italian sandwich. If memory servers, it’s got salami, pastrami and ham with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and homemade dressing, melted mozzarella on a toasted sesame sub roll. It’s great and much, much better than anything you’ll get at Jimmy Johns or Panera — especially if you prefer something more authentic to these chain places. The pastas are nice, very fresh and they taste like they are made from scratch. I prefer their meat sauce to their red sauce. I should add that their sandwiches come with a good size side of pasta, which means you get a lot of food for $ 8. They have a few clasic Italian desserts as well, and I would highly suggest getting a cannoli to go with your order. I’m typically not a huge fan of cannolis, but these are outstanding. They are made to order so the shells stay super crunchy and they are filled with the classic chocolate chip/moscarpone filling, but they are a little sweeter than most. My wife and I love them and get a few every tiime we’re there.

This is a nice little neighborhood italian café in the heart of Plymouth’s Old Town(north of downtown). Our party of 6 was seated quickly and the service was quite good(I think the owner waited on us). The menu is short and reserved(sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes) and they make most everything themselves(sauces, dressings, etc.) — everyone in my group enjoyed their lunch. The panini sandwiches are a nice break from Panera’s franchise fare, but they are a bit more expensive. The bread is soft sesame italian — the same kind they use to make the garlic toast. One down note: they offer a side of mushrooms to go with your pasta for $ 2. They were rubbery and lifeless(i.e., canned?), and I wouldn’t order them again on any dish even for free, let alone a $ 2 upcharge. Particular up note: The Tira Misu and cannoli are home made and excellent! All in all a good first visit — we will be back.
