This review has nothing to do with the food. It has nothing to do with the waitstaff. Everytime I’ve ever been to this restaurant to eat, the food and the service has been very good, in fact, awesome. This review is for the part of the business that this restaurant does for their«banquet» facilities. So I called one day to get information for booking a baby shower for my daughter. It was January 2016 and the shower was not until April 30, 2016. The man put me on the phone with a woman named Gayle Morones, their banquet person. She gave me prices and then I had to speak with the other 3 women who were sharing the cost of the shower with me, for my daughter. A week later, my older daughter and I walked into Compari’s during a non busy time about 2:30pm. We saw a balding man who I believe might have had a moustache. He was answering the phones and he told me he was a manager of some kind. I asked him if we could«book my daughters baby shower for April 30, 2016? «I also wanted to give him 200.00 down payment Cash. He left for a moment and came back with a paper in his hand. He told me he had spoken to Gayle but she was«in a meeting». She could not come out of the meeting to speak with us about a baby shower/banquet. So the man, who’s name escapes me at this time, but who is a manager there; brought out a form and showed us that there was one other party in April and it was at the beginning of April. He was happy for us even and said that he was«glad that it was not for the same day». He brought it so as to double check and share that info with us. We gave him $ 200 cash. He was going to let us just leave??? So I asked him for a receipt and for him to sign it with the date that we wanted and I asked him to write«$ 200.00 cash paid for baby shower april 30,2016. We then left and went home, feeling that it was odd, that the manager could go interrupt Gayle in her meeting but she wouldn’t come out and speak to us? A week later we called back to put a down payment more onto the shower banquet. We figured that we would go in and fill out any forms because Gayle Morones had been too busy the other day that we went. Gayle got on the phone and told us that«our day had been booked for 3 days prior to when we brought our 200.00 down payment??? Why would the manager be going and talking to her and taking our money and telling us and actually showing us that our date of «April 30,2016WAS available», if it was not? Why did he take my $ 200 if it was not available? She, GAyle… was downright nasty and rude on the phone not only to me personally but when my daughter called back as well. She was rude, uncaring and inconsiderate. I could not believe this of a place that we have held dear in our hearts for so many years and eaten at so many times over these last years living in Plymouth. This is supposed to be a «classy place» and I /we did not get treated with any kindness or CLASS at all! I am a member of a large community and will not be going back to the restaurants of Fiamma Grille or Compari’s on the Park or Sardine Room, due to the negligence and rude behavior of the that manager and Gayle Morones, the banquet person. It is very sad that I have to write this kind of review. We ended up getting our cash back, luckily. We stopped and got it with a signed receipt that very day. We are now happy to be having the baby shower at the Hellenic Cultural Center as their wedding was there also and it went beautifully!

You know I was pleasantly surprised. Let me get this out– JEFF is a great person, he took care of our table from start to finish in a professional, quick and unobtrusive manner. He MADE this a 4 star review. Also I will give them props to having our table ready when it was supposed to be ready and for seating us even before the rest of our party was there. Food wise– The calamari as others have said was wonderful. The veal cherry dish was Fantastic, great sauce and the cherries added a nice sweetness. If you get a chance give it a try and if you can try and get the experience of having Jeff work with you to make sure your experience is great.

Food is good. Service was very poor. 20 minutes to be seated with at least 5 open tables. Asked our waitress if they were short servers and she said no. She was upset because she had several empty tables. Then she disappeared on us for 15 minutes. Never was able to order a beer. Wasn’t given a beer list initially. Finally got one and then waitress never asked what I wanted. Wrote this entire review on my phone waiting to get the check back. Which took too lomg. Caesar salad also not all that great. Eggplant Parmesan was very nice. Poor beer list. Very disappointed.

LOVE this place. Outside seating in the spring/summer seasons is beautiful. The lobster ravioli is delicious. Fish taco for lunch are tasty as well. Downtown Plymouth is really cute and perfect for a weekend afternoon with the family, and drinks later on in the evening.

I sent the following note in an email to Comapris management almost 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything in response: «My mom, husband, and I arrived at about 6:00PM [on a recent Sunday] to celebrate my 50th birthday. The two young women at the podium at the front of the restaurant didn’t look up or greet my mother when she walked up. She had to get their attention to tell them we were looking for a table for 3. One of these young women then seated us at the four-top closest to the podium and handed us menus. Two different young men came by and set water glasses and a bread basket on the table, but neither of them said a word to us. We then sat there for over 10 minutes wondering where our server was. My mom couldn’t hear my husband or me talking because there was a very loud party of three young women at the table next to her discussing their workouts(I know restaurant managers have no control over the volume of any individual customers, but they can control how tightly-packed the tables are, and how the acoustics of the room are handled!). Finally, I flagged down one of the hostesses to ask if there was a server covering our table, and she said she’d get one. She didn’t apologize for our long wait. When we saw her go back to the podium with a handful of menus without talking to any servers, we walked out. Neither of the women at the podium paid any attention to us as we left. «My husband and I used to be very frequent diners in your restaurant – we were on a first name basis with several servers and came in at least once a week until a couple of years ago when my husband retired – but this experience was so awful for us that we are unlikely to return. It’s obvious that you no longer care about giving your customers a good experience. «We don’t expect instant service when we are seated at a restaurant table. However, we do expect courtesy from the various employees we encounter, and we also expect that a server will at least say hello within a few minutes of our arrival and let us know that he or she will be back as soon as possible to take our drink order. We saw two or three servers at nearby tables but none of them acknowledged us at all.»

This is probably my favorite Italian restaurant in Michigan. We started off with a Greek salad which was refreshing and great, followed by the four slice pizza(pepperoni and cheese). I’m a huge pizza lover so let me just say the pizza was amazing!!! As a meal I got the chicken piccata my sister got the chicken parmesan. Both were great i def would love to go back there was so much more I would love to try! I forgot to mention I love to eat my pizza with ranch and the ranch was also to die for!

The texture of the calamari was exactly like the frozen food from asian grocery store. Salmon on the aglio olio was smelly. It was a frozen Salmon(or it has been sitting in the freezer for months) We can smell the«freezer» smell there. Pizza plate was dirty, there were lots of food crumbs on it.

This American-Italian spot is in the heart of downtown Plymouth sandwiched between Fiamma’s and The Sardine Room(all three have the same owners). This place has a great outdoor seating area and their pizza does not disappoint. Added bonus, their cocktails are delicious!

Carryout– yes, if you want a pleasant experience get your food to go. Wait was 1.5 hours and Fire Marshall would have closed it down. People packed like sardines hanging over the rails above tables. Large groups smashed together. The decibel level alone made our meal uncomfortable– who wants to shout to your dinner companion. Use to like this place– not any more.

We wanted to go somewhere different on a whim at a last second on a Saturday night. There was a wait to get a table but it only ended up being around 25 minutes or so. They have a nice outdoor patio but we didn’t want to wait even longer to get a spot there. The service was a little slow but they were quite busy. The décor is really nice, I like seeing the pictures from when they first opened this restaurant many years ago. It was a little loud but not over the top loud. We had their garlic bread as an appetizer. It was really soft with lot’s of parmesan cheese. They served a small salad before the main meal which was ok but nothing special. I ordered their special, beef tenderloin tips with mashed potatoes, a wonderful mushroom sauce and fresh veggies. I’ve been on the lookout for good beef tips and I FINALLY found a place that actually has GREAT beef tips! The sauce and mashed potatoes went perfectly with it. The veggies was also cooked perfectly, everything had great seasoning. This restaurant was a really nice surprise! I really liked everything about the place and the location.

We came here for my birthday and the menu had something for everyone in our party. We had the spaghetti, meatballs, perch, pasta dish with sausage, and pizza. Everyone loved their meal. The server was very attentive. The restaurant offered a cannoli for my birthday. We had a wonderful time at Comparis and we will be back.

This is one of my favorite dining spots in downtown Plymouth. Every time we go there the service is outstanding and the food is wonderful. We went there today for lunch to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. My wife had the chicken piccata and I had the perch. We both started with the Compari’s special salad with romaine, red onion, pine nuts, crumbled blue cheese, bacon and tomato and their special sweet dressing. You should always get this as an upgrade over the small house side salad. My wife’s chicken was moist and tasty as was my perch covered with capers and a lemon sauce. You can’t go wrong with any of their pasta dishes or other entrees. The calamari and Moe’s zoli dip are great appetizers. Can’t wait to go back Join the club and get $ 5 off your next meal.

Food was really good and it’s such a cute place! I had the cheese tortellini with the orange sauce which is so good to dip your bread into. We got the scampi appetizer as well. Definitely a go to

Service was excellent! Caesar was fine but too pricey for just a regular Caesar. Pizza was awwwwwesome! Perfect! Pricey — cheese and 3 toppings $ 25 large. But it truly was a large pizza and the slices were evenly sliced. Thin crust, perfect cheesy cheese, small, thick rounds of pepperoni, spicy ground italian sausage and fresh mushrooms. Just the right amount of sauce(tomato not sweet or paste) and the right amount of chew to the crust! Mama Mia use to be my eat n pizza place but I think this place beats them.

we have been to compari’s a couple of times. we last went here on a sunday night, which we thought they closed at 9 based on the hours online. we were greeted by two teen girls who were obviously laughing at us in our faces. when one of them took us to our table she told us «well we were supposed to be closed but since you’re here it’s fine you’ll be be the last table». she was still laughing and i did not think the matter was funny at all, especially considering we got there at 7:50. if you are closing early you need to consider putting a sign on the door or locking the entrance door. especially since i watched them and another employee seat at least two other parties after telling them the same crap they told us. on to the service and food. the server was kind of awkward but whatever. we got our food pretty quickly though. i ordered sangria(delicious) and pizza with pepperoni. my boyfriend ordered a seafood pasta that had scallops, mussels and shrimp. he enjoyed his pasta, and the pizza was fresh and i loved the real pepperoni! the dessert selection looked great as well. now normally i don’t base my reviews off of employees who ruin things for others. but in this case the 2 teenage hostesses they had working the front were obviously not mature enough to have a job there. they made us feel like we weren’t wanted there. so 2 stars for them making us feel like we weren’t welcome, and 3 stars for the food. i only chose to come to this place because we had a groupon. but based on what we encountered, i don’t think we’ll be back!

Went here with a group of 10 for a business dinner. I was after something casual, access to good drinks, and tasty food with a good vegetarian option(Thank you Eggplant Parm!). We got all of those things at Compari’s. Nestled in the heart of downtown Plymouth, Compari’s offers a great setting during the holidays for an evening dinner while you overlook the holiday lights in the park. Our table got an array of entrees including eggplant parm(recommended), salmon, risotto(smelled incredible!), and veal parm(that plate was licked clean). If you’re looking for good Italian cuisine and a place that offers a casual vibe then check this place out. You’ll enjoy it.

I have never had good service at this restUrant. Waiters always busy flirting with girls at other table. The Italian is mediocre. But they do have one amazing sandwich. It’s a tenderloin beef on Texas toast with greens, caramelized onions and horseradish sauce. I crave this sandwich. I’ll endure the crappy service to eat it.

It was a perfect summer evening: the weather was comfortable, the small downtown was filled with happy families, and the pace was relaxed. I was surprised there was no wait at Compari’s despite the popularity of the restaurant. I think the bar and large patio helped manage the number of guests that could be accommodated. We were seated in a tight booth that was also in close proximity to other guests. There were several interesting dinner options: I saw a lot of fresh pizzas being served and considered both the sea scallops and whitefish. In the end, I went with the Homemade Lasagna with its thick layer of cheesy goodness. Along with the family-style salad served with the entrée, the meal was fairly filling. However, that did not deter us from having dessert. I should have photographed the dessert tray; there were several yummy-looking options. I went with the chocolate chiffon layer cake with the chocolate mousse cream and raspberry sauce. The large wedge of cake was definitely enough for three. Service was fine.
