I got the seaFood hot pot. Dirty vegetables, totally not worth the money at all! Will never come here again. Low quality seafood for the price!

2.5 Stars for now. I will update after I try some more dishes. This review is based on only two dishes. From the outset I would like to say that the service was polite and quick and the star rating is mostly for the food. I had two dishes on a Saturday afternoon. Beef noodle soup, and stinky tofu, both are typical street food dishes in Taiwan. I asked for the beef noodle soup to be spicy, It was, but also a little sweet. Not really the rich beefiness that I was expecting. The meat was a mixture of whole pieces of meat and bits a pieces of collagen and other connective tissue. When I was young I would avoid all by the pure muscle meat, but now I like the textural differences. The meat tasted good, and the few bits of greens(I think baby bok choy) were nice and not overcooked. The dish suffered in terms of the broth, but the noodles is where the dish really fell flat. The noodles had no texture to them, no bite, no chewiness. In fact they tasted/felt like noodles that had been sitting around too long in the broth. I think the noodles need some rethinking in this dish. The stinky tofu was also a bit sweet with not much flavor. It was, of course, stinky, a lingering stink which is sometime different that the stink that hits you up front but goes away. I have to say that I was disappointed in this dish. The flavor did not match the stink. I don’t know if they get their stinky tofu from somewhere or if they make it in house, but whatever brine they are using could use some rework. The pickled vegetables(mostly cabbage and carrots) served with the tofu was a typical accompaniment. and its provided a nice sharp bite to balance the blandness of the tofu. I will come back and try it again and see if I can increase the rating. To be fair this type of food is far better than typical Chinese(think open late delivery), so I was expecting more.

Good Taiwanese food option in Pleasanton. The stinky tofu, dumplings, beef noodle soup and Taiwanese sausage were all tasty. I had to take 1 star off for not having AC at the restaurant during 90 degree heat!

This is my third time coming here after they changed owner. Love it! The noodles are super yummy. Soup has rich flavor, meet is tender and noodle is chewy. The fried stinky tofu is also very good. The owner is very nice too :) This is now my to-go place when I feel lazy and don’t want to cook.

So far so good, 2 visits and have had great experiences… Even when it’s hot, I crave ramen, phở… soup! 1st time visiting, I ordered the pork w/intestines…yes, you got it… some would say ngow jaap or innards… still, good soup. It was funny that the soup spoon is more of a ladle but it works, the soup was flavorful, nice spice and filling. The noodles weren’t what I expected, more like linguine noodles, but they worked with the soup. 2nd visit was something simple, pork with«fungus» but it’s just woodear mushroom — great texture. I asked for it to be just a little spicy and that was what they delivered. Great flavor, NOT the Japanese ramen, but great soup. Both were a bit fatty but more positives than negatives. Really enjoyed the green tea, they use something similar to the green tea in boba places. Service is kind, one of the ladies even told me to mix the soup, in Mandarin, the first time… no, I don’t speak Mandarin, but the body language was more than enough.

I came here by myself because I had some time to kill. I had their honey black tea w/tapioca pearls — that was delicious. I also ordered the Seafood Ramen. I’ve had better elsewhere. The wait was a bit long, and the service was inattentive. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this place, even though the tea was good.

New owners and new dishes. Very, very good. The new owner’s husband is from Sichuan. He created a special Sichuaness menu on a white board and I can’t wait to try them all. We ordered three dishes and each dish was very tasteful. The fried chicken wings were excellent, not too spicy and not too oily, even my picky son loved it. The sauce of 五更腸旺 was really good. I could eat that with plain rice. We wanted a vegetable dish, the owner brought out several different vegetables and asked us which one and how we wanted it cooked. It’s almost like eating at home by your own personal chef. Great service and great food. Price is very reasonable, much less than some big name restaurants around this area. This will be my new Chinese restaurant when I wanted Chinese food. No need to go to Oakland or Fremont. I can’t wait to try other dishes soon.

I love this place because the food and the service. Probably you might think the food is not like other restaurants. That’s what I like about their dishes. Very unique and tasty. They recently changed owner, but not the chef! I usually order their 3 dishes for only $ 23.99! It’s a great deal. It’s a comfy place for me to have a nice dinner and bubble tea, and then go to the 99 Ranch Market to buy grocery. If you want a simple and comfy place to have traditional Chinese food with your friend, this is it!

Good place to eat! I love their stinky tofu and various small plates. The spicy stuff is great! A good spicy. Pork intestine is only ok. The only problem I have is that I ordered a lunch special last time and in the beginning I asked what type of tea is included with the lunch special and one lady said any tea on the page. So I chose one on that page and afterwards when I got the check, I was charged extra. The other guy who brought the check says only one type of tea is free with lunch special, «that was not what I was told» Not really happy about being lied to but ehhh.

I came here again only because my friend really wanted Taiwanese food. The service felt worse than last time. My friend and I were the only people in the entire store(it was the afternoon). Although they got every order correct this time, the waitress was not very attentive. She only came by to check on my friend and I once. The food is still okay. I will say, the stinky tofu is pretty spot on for not being in Taiwan. Everything else, however, is only okay. My friend really enjoyed their intestine noodle soup(not really sure what the name is in English), but I think the noodles are off. They feel too separated from each other. The flavoring is okay though. The oyster pancake is ok as well. Nothing spectacular, but enough to satisfy a craving. Each dish is definitely not cheap, but I suppose the quantity makes up for it. I’d probably come here just for stinky tofu in the future.

Solid boba, milk tea, and go-to Taiwanese food. Love the popcorn chicken $ 6.95(though keep in mind it comes not spicy) and zha jiang mien $ 8.50(ground pork with noodles – Taiwanese version of spaghetti). They take credit cards, but no American Express.

After our meal at Phở Saigon City next door, my friend and I went into Tea Breeze to get a couple boba drinks. I can’t speak for my friend, but clearly an extra large bowl of phở was not enough for me to ease the gridiron pain I suffered today! After looking over their menu, I decided to get a large mango tapioca milk tea(T22, $ 4.30 for a large) while my friend got the regular coconut tapioca milk tea(T30, $ 3.20). I thought my drink was decent. The tapioca balls were cooked right. The tea was more on the sweet side and I didn’t taste much of the tea. Overall, the drink was okay, but certainly not the best I’ve had. The service I got was pretty good. The servers were very polite. They have a pretty extensive menu. Besides tapioca drinks, they also serve shaved ice, snacks, ramen, shabu shabu, and regular dishes. I may have to go back to check them out.

I used to like it more, but I felt like they add more MSG to there food recently. I was surprised they were so empty on a friday night. Basically we are the only customer there. I’ve been there a couple times, food was ok. I liked their taiwanese style vermicelli stir-fry. Beef noodle soup was pretty nice too. Stinky tofu was good, fried intestine was ok. Popcorn chicken was not bad, but I felt like i was eating batter instead of chicken. Overall it was ok. Food usually came out pretty fast. They do have a wide selection of food. They do both taiwanese and shanghainese food.

One of my coworkers was really sick and craving ramen, other coworker was craving popcorn and boba… and hold and behold BOBA and ramen all in the same place. Upon being seated we were greeted with menus and 3 bowls of hot and sour soup. The server had a bit of trouble understanding our orders but once he got it back into the kitchen it went. So based on previous Unilocal reviews I got the SPICY(Extra spicy) beef stew with ramen noodles and wontons. It was pretty good… a little on the salty side but i expect that from ramen places and just ask for some hot water to dilute. The wontons were«okay» but I can be picky as I usually make my own wontons. The flavoring of the noodles was great, but it could be because the soup was so salty it flavored the ramen. The bowl was huge and there’s a great«lunch meal price» I also ordered Almond milk tea with Boba… I will forego this next time… my tea tasted… creamy? and not like traditional milk teas… possibly made from powders. My coworker got the coconut milk tea and he said it did not taste like coconut or milk tea… I didn’t want to try it after looking at his facial expression. The noodles were SPICY, which is exactly what my sick coworker needed… her sinuses were cleared up and was able to breathe again after eating her soup… As were mine actually even though I wasn’t having sinus issues prior. So why the 2 stars you ask? As soon as we walked in it felt like we walked into a steaming sauna… it was HOTHOTHOT in there… minus one star. and here’s the kicker… as good as the ramen was… the Popcorn chicken was just okay… just okay that doesn’t deserve 2 stars being taken away. but the fact that the second piece of chicken my coworker picked up he noticed there was long black hair on his plate. he’s not picky. was just going to pick it out… when he went to pick it up… it weaved in and out of his other chicken AND… here’s where the two docked stars come in… it was baked in and breaded into one of the popcorn chickens… as seen in the pictures. this hair was so strong. even after being deep fried… it was still strong enough to lift a chicken piece… We were going to say something but it was hard to flag anyone down. so my coworker ate what he could. and we were on our way.

This place was good, but nothing overly special. I ordered the Japanese ramen with pork and a passion fruit green tea with boba and both were yummy. The boba was however a little chewy and the ramen was good, but the large chucks of bok choy(whole stalk) was difficult to eat with just a spoon. I would go here again and try more dishes because it was clean and the staff was friendly and it was pretty inexpensive.

Dropped by because I got picked up at Bart and this was close. Wonton soup had thin flavor, wontons could have been fresher. Calamari was tasteless save for the salt sprinkled on and it was gummy. Fish in chili bean sauce was salty, but fish and tofu were a nice soft consistency.

I usually come here to get boba. Best decent boba I can find in the area. It’s been consistent so far, cooked to a good consistency(nice and chewy, not undercooked or overcooked) and I think they cook it in honey cause they’re kind of sweet. That’s the only thing I would recommend here. If you’re planning on just getting boba, bring cash. They take card only over $ 10. I tried eating here once. I got the curry ramen and it was whatever. They do offer a large variety of dishes including shabu shabu. I can see that it might be a decent spot for a quick lunch, they do offer lunch specials and their service is pretty quick. Warning though, my friend got their stinky tofu and got sick from it. We even saw mold on the tofu. It always pretty much empty every time I’ve been there so I’m sure you don’t have to worry about a line. Overall, I just recommend their boba.
