I’m a bagel fanatic, have worked at bagel shops through college, and just need them purely to survive. This place is not a top notch place when looked at overall. The bagels are good, not too chewy, but adequate for my taste. My problem is remains with the service. On several occasions I asked for heavy cheese cream, but always I am let down… Disappointed… With the lightest scrapings of cream cheese you can imagine. They treat it as though they were buttering toast. Finally I ask for extra cream cheese, and now I am charged for extra and have less than what I consider a normal amount. I finally resolved the problem one day when I asked for the bagels open faced, for there, and gave them a thorough description of what I considered a lot of cream cheese. However, as I stop there out of convenience and dying of hunger, I don’t have the time to stay there always and have it prepared open faced. I will most likely still be coming back, but only because on certain work day I do not have the convenience of preparing my own breakfast or going to a better bagel shop. Hopefully with time the staff will learn my likes and dislikes, and hopefully I will not get irritated too much if this process continues to be obnoxious. Otherwise some of the staff is kind, but there are some that are just not friendly to me… Of course not friendly to me prior to me having to lose patience and my cool. Understandably they may not be anymore after my review and have I have come to act as a dissatisfied client. All in all this situation has only gotten me a very well crafted rant about bagels shops that get cheap n the cream cheese, and this rant makes my close friends laugh and laugh. I All in all, when I go there I feel like I am in an episode of Seinfeld.

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon while waiting for the lady to run some errands. As a bread lover, sometimes I just like to munch on a plain bagel, no cream cheese or anything. I ordered a chocolate chip bagel plain, no cream cheese, not toasted, etc. Blech. The bagel was light as other Unilocalers have described it but it wasn’t chewy outside and moist inside like I think a NY bagel should be… it was hard and dry inside. Like a day old bagel. I seriously needed some water to eat this and didn’t even finish it. Boooo. The only reason why there are 2 stars instead of 1 is because I’ve eaten here before about a year ago and remembered it as being decent. But this last visit wasn’t so decent…

I don’t think this place is called Big Apple Bagels anymore. but anyhoo.I love their asiago sourdough bagel. it’s hecka good BUT my only complaint is the thin-as-paper spread of cream cheese they put on their bagels… I mean can’t you put a big heaping spread up on my bagel please? I like to TASTE the cream cheese please! Other than that, they are friendly but MORECREAMCHEESEPLEASE. oh and make sure you ask them for«extra toasted» otherwise they put your bagel throught the toaster hecka fast and your bagel will be lukewarm. bleck!

It’s the closet bagel spot by my work and that’s why I still come here. I love their Monterey Cheese Explosion bagel paired with cream cheese and a slice of tomato. Their lox is just okay but pricey. I’ve had much better but it still scratches the itch when I’m absolutely craving it. Ordering here via phone for pick-up service can be almost painful and that’s where they get a below average rating from me. They also once doubled charged me thinking that my card was not swiped since they ran out of paper. Good thing was it wasn’t a pain to get my money back. I guess I’ll still be coming back unless a better bagel locale opens near by.

The bagels here are Yum-O!!! I so wish they had a Big Apple near my neck of the woods. The bagels are very light, soft, and tastiest ever. My fav… the Monterey Madness with garlic herb spread… ooohh. I inhaled that mess… so that speaks for itself… ha! Can’t wait to go back!!!

This place has the«softest» and«lightest» bagels that I have ever eaten in my life! No joke! One of our managers picked up a dozen or two and brought them into work and I ate 2 in a row! They were that light and delicious! Usually, bagels fill me up to the brim after one or even half, but no I ate 2! I decided to stop in on my own and make sure that it wasn’t a dream of how good these bagels were and so I ordered the BLT breakfast bagel and I was not disappointed. Light and fluffy with a layer of cream cheese, lettuce, tomatoe and bacon! The breakfast of my dreams have come to reality! This beats out Noah’s anyday! Sorry Noah’s! You need to find a new recipe to lighten up your bagels!
