Let nicest part of Taco Amigo is the building. It’s very clean and nice looking. The downside is the food and cost. It’s insane how much they charge for the burritos they serve. I paid $ 2.99 for a chicken burrito that is skinny and mostly consists of sour cream. The meat and bean burrito is slightly larger but has a lot of cold cheese, beans, and some ground beef for $ 3.49. Last I got a small strawberry shake for $ 4.39. There are a ton of frozen strawberries in it. Personally I think there was a little too much in proportion to ice cream. My recommendation: Go to taco bell down the street. You’ll get A LOT more bang for your buck. Taco Amigo would be much more competitive if they dropped a dollar from each burrito. Another option is going across the street to Rancherito’s. Quality is about the same but Rancherito’s is 2 – 3 times bigger.

Gotta say as a new person to the area I don’t get why the locals love this place. Burritos and tacos taste like they’d be easily replicated at home with a microwave. The special strawberry shakes during the early-summer season is the sole highlight.

Thought I was walking into a divey street taco restaurant until I actually walked in. All I saw were the most white and delightsome Utah County types I’ve ever seen assembled outside of LaVell Edwards’ stadium! It’s like a cross between Taco Bell and Taco Time with table service. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. I liked it just fine. Service was great. They’ve been around for decades. There was a constant line in the drive-thru. The restaurant was nearly maximum capacity. Nothing wrong with that! One and I’m done. Thank you, Taco Amigo. I had a taco and enchilada with a side of beans and a medium soda, all for a reasonable price. My hunger was satiated. I wish you many more years of success.

Can someone please explain to me why their bean and cheese burritos are so good?!? I try to figure out why I enjoy it so much because, shit, it’s just a bean and cheese burrito! I want to say it’s the tortilla and the little red sauce’s that make it so delicious. If we had one in Salt Lake I would go weekly… for now i will just go once a year since I am hardly ever in the area :( Staff is really happy and great! Please come to SLC Taco Amigo!

Oh man, I love Taco Amigo. When their fresh shakes are in season, nothing is better. Peach or strawberry. Their hamburgers and French fries are so good too. But get the chicken burrito. You won’t regret it!

Wasn’t overly impressed. It’s a glorified Taco Bell. The place is always packed during the lunch hour. Staff seemed friendly and service was relatively fast. We had hard and soft tacos. I can’t say we will go back, way to fast foodish for me, and the food lacks flavor.

This is a new place to me as I have recently moved to Utah, I gotta say this is the best Mexican fast food I have had, far better than Taco Bell or my previous favorite, Del Taco. The restaurant is clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly and the food is good for fast food. I will be back for sure.

My vote for a fast food Mexican restaurant. They are one of the favorites in my family. They have remodeled and enlarged their seating. They are always busy but the service is fast. We have been coming here for 20 years and the food is consistently yummy. The shakes are thick and they offer fresh fruit shakes in season. The strawberry is to die for.

Ok first of all it is a little odd that it’s called taco amigo and are known for there hamburgers and fries… Put that aside they do have a pretty good standard hamburger(reminds me of a good old fashion fair burger) and the FRIES! Wow I understand why everyone brags about them! Granite they aren’t fresh but they are freshly out of the deep fryer(rather then sitting under the heat lamp like McDonald’s). They are a glorified McDonald’s fries but hot, crispy, and you get your money’s worth! The drive through is so busy but the customer service is great! Oh and they have really good fry sauce!

Taco Amigo is one of my favorite restaurants ever! They are so incredible! I love the employees, I love the location and I adore the food. The tostadas, bean burritos and taco salads are so great. but the cheese melts, hot sauce and fries are to die for. They have thee absolute best Pink/Fry sauce ever! Which as a utahn that is really saying something. On average my family eats here at least once every other week, if not every week. I love Taco Amigo!!! Hometown favorite!

Taco Amigo is the equivalent of a gas station burrito, just cooked for you. They serve burgers and fries and nothing is close to Mexican food. It’s the super Americanized version of the basic taco and burrito. The teenagers that work here are friendly and move quickly which is why this isn’t a one star. Tiny parking lot. Food: 1 Service: 4 Ambiance: NA Parking: 2

First off it’s not even traditional Mexican, I mean they serve burgers and burritos with craft cheese on top. Also the fact that they will charge $ 6.00 for a burrito smaller than the one you can get at a gas station with the same quality and effort, it is just unappetizing

Good for a quick cheese melt or bean burrito. The shakes are very good but over priced. FYI their«Oreo» shake is not made with real Oreos, but generic cookies. I even asked to confirm and the girl said they were not Oreos. I told them they should call it a cookies and cream shake then. Not worth the added price. And not as good. The glaciers are really yummy. They have good soft serve ice cream… better than purple turtle’s. The times I’ve ordered a Mexican entrée, it was basically all canned food thrown in a microwave. The beans, olives, tomatoes, etc. all tasted very blah. My plastic plate was even warped from the microwave once. For this reason I give three stars. There’s no reason to charge as much as they do when they’re serving lower quality food.

Very confused why some people are calling this 5 star Mexican food? It’s Mexican fast food made by american teenagers. If you see it in this light than it’s exactly what you’d expect. I’d give them 2.5 stars but that’s not an option so I’ll round up. The seasonal peach shakes are really good but I no longer buy them cause no shake is worth $ 6 dollars!!! They priced me out as one of their customers.

Best little taco shop around Utah! My brothers will drive from North SLC& Heber to get a soft taco, bean burrito, Frys & the classic fry sauce. Also my parents first stop when in town from St George. Family favorite & tradition since the 80’s

I just can’t figure out what this restaurant wants to be. The burgers and fries all get top billing on the menu, you have to look for the tacos and what you get is mom’s version of a taco. Tortilla, lettuce, tomato, bland salsa, and a meat of your choice. The food is super fresh, you can dang near eat off the floor it’s so clean, and the staff was really nice so I can’t knock them too much just wish there was a little more personality to the food.

Taco Amigo is a Pleasant Grove institution. It has been consistently good for years. The place is always spotless clean, and the service quick. There is sometimes a wait at the drive thru, but it has gotten better. My favorites are the cheese burritos and the soft flour tacos. The prices could be better, but it is a mom and pop joint surviving in the world of chain restaurants, so i understand.

This is a great local fast food restaurant complete with tacos, burritos, enchiladas as well as some American fare as well with fries and burgers. They are almost always busy, which I take as a compliment to their tasty food, clean environment and great service. I work close by and eat there almost once a week for lunch. My favorites are the bean burritos, tostadas, cheesy nachos, fries and enchiladas.
