Stay away. Please tell me this business is going out of business soon. All chicken dishes looked the same — boxed color and really bad chicken. Naan was flat and soggy. Only thing good about this restaurant is Agha juice connected to this restaurant. Waste of money.

Horrible service we were first directed to a table then we got up after not being waited on, went to the counter to order, ask questions like does this have bone? And questions about the menu after all of that the guy informs us we only have these three things today, we were like okay why didn’t you tell us that before we asked you all these questions and began our order, we walked out and went to the indopak grocery store down the street to their café and had better service better food and cheaper price !!

Agree with other Unilocalers, despite of negative comments we wanted to give this place another chance. Went in we were asked to sit down even when we noticed other people placing order at the register. No one attended us go we finally went to the register. When asking questions about different plates the guy didn’t know much about it and asked to speak to someone else. Finally when we decided what we wanted, the guy that explained us what those things were said that they don’t have that item!!! Why did you explain me what it was then tell me you don’t have it! On a Saturday afternoon lunch time hey had 4 items on their menu to offer!!! I would never go here, believe the Unilocalers STAYAWAY!

Friendly staff… Ok space… Ample parking… Food was so-so… I was hungry so ate it :) In other circumstances I might not. Very bland and almost everything tasted the same

Food is quite good compare to other indo-pak restaurants near by. I have been there couple of times for takeout. Ordered chicken malai roll and Haleem. Staff was friendly and place looked clean.

I have been here twice. The first time, it was just after they had opened and the food wasn’t very tasty, but the service was so friendly that I hoped the food would improve. They have been open a few months now, and have had plenty of time to work out the kinks. Yesterday, at 12:30pm, my friend and I met here for their buffet. One problem; the lunch buffet wasn’t ready yet… at 12:30! No items at all. Nothing. It gets worse. There was nobody to tell us when it would be ready because nobody was at the counter. Nobody was around at all. It was like it was closed. Another lady was waiting to ask when it would be ready, but said she couldn’t find anyone to assist her. Finally, after 3 – 4 minutes one of the cooks came out and said it wasn’t ready. No explanation at all. The lady, my friend, and I left. We won’t come back.

If I had a negative star option, I wouldn’t even give it to them. We got there at around 10:40 pm and the sign on the door said that their hours are 10:30 am till 11:30 pm. We got falooda and shakes and started consuming. It was about 11 pm when Ali(apparently the manager) started turning the lights off. I asked him what was the problem and he said that they are leaving. I pointed out that the sign on the door mentions that they close at 11:30 pm And that we would be done and out of there before 11:30 pm. He said that they were there since 10:30 am and that they were tired. As he said that, he turned around, turned the lights out and walked away. I went up to the counter and asked another guy to call him back but the kitchen boys wouldn’t call him and said that they are tired and that it was a long day. I told them if they realized that they had locked the doors around 10:45 pm despite the sign on door saying 11:30 pm which could land them in trouble with Plano Chamber of Commerce. Ali said that they are leaving and we could stay. I asked him to call the owner and he said that he was the owner and that they were closed. I took picture of the hours sign and we had to leave. This customer treatment doesn’t warrant another visit. I shall be filing a complaint with the local business body for customer abuse.

I have been coming here for almost 2 months. I love their butter chicken and am hooked! Naan is always fresh. I can’t wait to try their other dishes as the chicken tikka is calling my name. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to my friends.

This place recently opened up. We had been debating trying this place as we pass by it every weekend due to it proximity to the masjid. First of all just to clear up any misconception. Agha Juice is adjacent to this place however it is in its own entity, meaning although it shares the restaurant it is in no way affiliated with Shalimar. The management here was poorly prepared, they had no menus… I understand it’s new and they have ordered their menus… however, they can make copies on a simple typed up sheet of paper to let their customers know what they have to offer on this given day. Well, we ask the girl behind the counter what the menu options are, she states that pretty much everything they have in their buffet is all they have. All the while we see other customers getting their food from the kitchen!!! The buffet was about $ 9 and we were told you only get 1 nan per person(I have never heard of this before, it’s a buffet and they are putting a limit on the number of nan you can order). Biryaani tasted like chicken salan and rice were mixed in. it was cold… and had no flavor of authentic biryaani… I could make better biraayani with Shaan masala. Their image of good service is that they had cold store bought cole slaw as their salad. Either they think we as customers are IDIOTS or they themselves are IDIOTS for putting this out. They had no proper ONION, TOMATOE salad to go with their biryaani/kababs nor did they have LEMON, GINGER, CORRIENDER with their Nihaari… I feel they are in the market to simply make money… but this agenda of theirs will not survive in the market for too long, because word of mouth spreads like wild fire and I will not be reccomending this place! As a new business they should have aimed to make their first impression strong and lasting for their potential customers. Unfortunately they lacked good customer service and good food. I wish I had walked out of this place with good comments, but this was such a waste of time and money. Please avoid this place at all costs unless you start hearing some GREAT reviews or unless you have money to waste!

Went here expecting good food… Completely sucked. We ordered the 2Goat Biryani, 1Chicken Biryani, Beef Shish Kabob, Chicken Tikka Boti, Chicken Malai Kabob, Naan and Beef Puff Pastry for to go. After paying the full amount, 10 minutes later the cashier informed us that they ran out of Goat Biryani and they will substitute it with the Beef Biryani. Since we didn’t have any other choice we said that’s fine. After 40 minutes we got our order and thinking well we waited little bit long but food might be awesome. Oh boy was I mistaken? We got 3 beef biryani as they said now after opening the packet each box had only 2 piece of meat. Seriously after charging 6.99 for each biryani that’s all you put? The rice tasted like cooked previous day and the meat tatse rubbery and the sauce had eggplant filling in it. Now the Shish Kabob was good and taste good but it needed little bit more spices. Chicken Tikka boti was good but the Chicken Malai Kabab was the worst we ever tried anywhere else. There was no seasoning and the tasted funky. Maybe the yogurt or curd was rotten. One thing I have to say that the Beef Puff Pastry tasted better than any other Indian place. They Only have one print out menu for all customer. Seriously did you guys heard about copying? Or go to OfficeMax to make copies. Overall the place was little bit dirty as water is everywhere and the tables are dirty. I would never eat here and if you do eat here eat at your own risk.

The sign said it served Indo-Pak cuisine, so I figured I’d give it a go. In sum, children, children everywhere! I was planning a quiet, relaxed lunch for myself but this place was more like a day care when I went(no fault from the business). The children inside were literally swarming, like when you step into an ant pile or punch a beehive. And the noise you could not imagine. But after a while all the families left and some semblance of calm returned. It was at that point that I realized there was actually a television blaring sports above my head, imagine that. The inside is pretty plain, just some booth seating and open seating. Design is just functional and that’s about it. I tried their buffet, and for $ 9.99 the selection is very limited. There’s only around 6 or so dishes, and they’re all chicken. None of it tasted particularly amazing. The dessert was kind of tasty. Kind of. The sign said«kheer» and it was like pudding, but it tasted of yogurt and caramel. The service was kind of nonexistent for me. I ended up having to get my own water from the pitcher, even though the waitress served pretty much everyone else.(Is it because I’m not Indo-Pak?) The baker guy out front making the break was alright because he gave me some naan. All in all, I wouldn’t really recommend this place. 3⁄5 at the very best.

I side with the others the Service is horrible, took me over 1.5 hour and that was with me nagging them to get Nihari. Every time I asked the guy how long gave me the typical 5 more minutes, and then 30 minutes later nothing. I dont like to give a negative comment but these people need some feedback as many people open new restaurants but are not this disorganized. Seemed like everyone was getting there food out of sequence, regardless of ticket number order. Some people waiting over an hour and then to see people who got there after you get there food before you really ticks you off. There was mad confusion going on. And the guy making Naan, just seemed grouchy. My highlight was the cranky auntie who went home to find her Nihari was missing making a fuss at the store, you dont mess with a hungry aunties order. On top of that do they how to serve Nihari? They had a huge bone with some meat in my small bowl they serve it in and did not offer the typical lemon, ginger, cilantro. I will give them one more shot after a month, but for now I know they are new but feels like throwing my money in the garbage. After waiting 1.5hr due to there incompetence the least they couldve done was offer customers a free dessert. Also, another gripe guy kept filling our water jug half way, I mean cmon seriously you dont have enough common sense to fill it up all the way, so every 2 cups I dont gotta ask for a refill. Really was excited about potentially having a great Desi food place in Plano.

I hope service and food quality improves. Frozen naan from stores tastes better. Oddly their gyro is really good

This place just opened up, but they were clearly not prepared for the giant wave of customers. It was bad enough that they kept taking orders despite the one hour wait time, but all the tables were occupied, and people were getting their food out of order despite what ticket number you had. It took our family of 3 an hour and half, and that was after some complaining and people ditching the place due to getting impatient. By the time we finished(which we did very fast, cause we were starving), the restaurant was no longer busy due to everyone leaving. Anyways, let’s get to the dishes… 1. Grilled Chops(3⁄5): There was nothing special about these. I thought they overdid it with the masala as I felt my tongue just feeling a few clumps here and there. Though the taste of the meat itself was tender and good. 2. Chicken Tikka(Leg)(1⁄5): Didn’t eat it all of it, because it was cold. Hard to gauge the taste of cold grilled chicken. 3. Seekh Kabab(2⁄5): Was luke warm at best. Tasted pretty good, though not a fan of it falling apart so easily. 4. Dal Gosht(2⁄5): Rice had to be ordered separate, but was good. Dal was pretty tasty, though doesn’t mean mom’s or Al Markaz’s. The meat was a disappointment. You could tell the meat was boiled separately and just tossed in as the it had zero taste. 5. Naan(1⁄5): I mean… it was flat and just… didn’t taste like Naan. Conclusion: Hopefully they will get better with their service. The rush will get less and less as weeks go by, but they seriously need to know how to manage customers and time. When you have people complaining and waiting, you rush the food, which in turn results in a poor taste. I’ll probably come back later down the road when the«newness» of the restaurant has worn off. If I could, I’d give this place a «NOTHING»…because at this point, I ain’t even mad. But since I have to give a score… 1⁄5
