The enchiladas were very good. The problem and why the 3 rating were the margaritas were not. Basically, a sugar drink. Both the wife and I ordered the 20 oz frozen. Price was good, but neither of us could finish, which I don’t recall that happening to us before and we eat and drink margaritas every week and have done so for over 10 years. Would go back for the food, but most likely not as the quality of the margaritas determines if we come back as I expect good food.

The food is good. A solid entry to the Tex-Mex field. There was a large group of us and our waiter, the manager had no trouble keeping everyone happy. He even managed to get us all served almost simultaneously. The BIG difference between Posados and other Tex-Mex restaurants are small things. Every meal offers the diner the choice of Mexican rice or Cilantro-Lime Rice; charro, refried or black beans. You can also choose to replace the beans or rice with tortilla soup! I had the crispy spicy beef tacos meal. 3 very fresh crisp ttortillas filled with wonderfully flavored beef, fresh shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and shredded cheese. Mexican rice and tortilla soup completed my plate. Maybe my lunch was too big, or i indulged in too many chips, but 3 was almost too much to eat. Next time i’ll get the puffy tacos. That way, there will definitely be room for dessert… YES! Sopapillas are brought to you after the meal. Fresh and hot and cinnamon-sugary good… if you want honey, it is already on the table. Then you can also wander over and help yourself to an ice cream cone… The sopapillas are unlimited, but you do need to ask for the ones after your first. There were 19 of us, but the restaurant was not slammed with customers, so service was great.

I can hardly give them 1 star:(Hostess seats us at a table that the waiter had not even clocked in yet: I went to hostess and said we had no waiter– she said she would send someone right over. Didn’t happen– my son in law went back over and spoke to the manager. he offered guacamole(which tasted like paste — we did not eat it) then sent a waiter to us FINALLY. My son in law ordered a Margarita that he finally had to go up to the manager again to see where his drink was. He got it and it was dark green and tasted like koolaid! Then the meals came– what a nightmare– our son in law ordered steak and shrimp fajita /it did not come out sizzling AND the steak was a hamburger patty! SERIOUSLY, a hamburger patty cut in slices. The tacos were soggy from nasty tomatoes, and my chicken chimichangas(2 of them) were smaller than getting 1 at any other Mexican restaurant. This was our first and last visit.

This place was very ok. We went bc we had coupons and saw that it was also on OpenTable and love TexMex so why not. Well… service and food both left a lot of be desired. Hardly anyone there on a Saturday night. Waited a long time to talk to a manager. Too many other good options.

We waited for almost half an hour for a table on Saturday night. Normally this would be expected, except the restaurant was only half full. Long wait times to be seated when there are multiple empty tables is rude and unacceptable.

Had Posados for dinner. It was really good! The cheese dip was great. The cheese and beef enchiladas were good, too. When they say spicy beef, they mean it. The guacamole could have been fresher, but overall it was a great Tex-mex meal!

Awesome Tex Mex. Great queso, yummy margaritas. Fajitas are great with special garlic-herb butter to put on them. Good options on the menu. Portions are good size. Free chips, salsa, tortillas, sopapillas(with honey!), and ice cream. Service is usually adequate, food comes out fast, manager walks the floor so you can always stop him if needed. Outside seating is loud, but inside is good and roomy. Prices are right for the portions and extra items included. Moved to AZ and miss this place terribly, they just don’t make Tex Mex the same here!

We stopped in for dinner and we impressed with the speedy service. For an appetizer, we got the spicy mushroom. YUM!!! Then we split the fajitas for two and did the combo of three. It was delicious. Plus we had a $ 10.00 off coupon. All in all it felt like a value. Good atmosphere.

Managers-control your crowds! Thought we’d found a new favorite Mexican restaurant, but when the managers just stand by and let an unruly table full of «adults» curse and yell and sing at the top of their lungs(right in front of my kids) you seal the fate of this place: officially a no-go! Which is sad, because the food is amazing! Usually the wait staff is good when we come but today they ignored us, and then we watched a waiter have a tantrum and slam/punch the kitchen door right next to my kids-scared my youngest right out of her skin! Very unprofessional.

Probably the best Tex-Mex spot I’ve found in Dallas(ok, technically it’s in Plano). Nice big menu. I’ve tried several dishes and have liked them all. And their sides were very tasty too. Service can be a little inconsistent and they’re a little pricey for what you get, but a solid spot.

Good food… slow service. We went there for lunch today– party of three. Austin our server took our order and brought the drinks promptly. After that we didn’t see him for about a half hour! It was like ghost town… Not a server in sight and when we did see a server they looked the other way. We asked for our salad to come out before our food– Austin said«no problem». Salad took about 35 mins to come out and then our food came out 10 mins later. 45 mins after we ordered and it was not hot. Food was tasty– enjoyed the butter sauce they provide on the side. We ordered the tilapia lunch portion which was decent in portion size. Enough for me, plus I was able to sub the rice for veggies at no extra cost. Bummer that the service was so slow!

I used to really like Posados many many years ago. Now I find the food a little too salty and don’t even look forward to the sopapillas anymore. Service was a little lacking even though it wasn’t crowded on a Saturday night.

If you are in the mood for great Tex-Mex, go to Posada Café in Plano. The restaurant is easy to spot due to the colorful and decorated building its in. Once you step foot into the restaurant, you can smell the aroma of food cooking, and you can hear beautiful Mexican music playing in the background. Shortly after, we were graciously greeted by a sweet gentleman name Joshua. He recommended the house margarita for drinks. My husband ordered the margarita on the rocks and I ordered it frozen. Both drinks were refreshing! It went well with the baskets of complimentary freshly fried tortilla chips and salsa. In addition to the salsa, we ordered a bowl of queso dip on the side to accompany the chips. The chips, salsa and queso was yummy. Joshua refreshed our tortilla chips while we waited for our meal. I ordered the beef enchilada plate that came with tortilla soup and cilantro lime rice. A little disappointed that the enchiladas were made with ground beef instead of shredded beef. Although it was made with ground beef, it was delicious. After dinner, we ordered our complimentary sopapillas(Mexican fried donut). It was warm, fluffy and yummy. Honey and butter was a great addition to the dessert. While we waited for our sopapillas, we headed over to the complimentary soft serve ice cream machine. There was chocolate, vanilla and swirl flavors. It was a nice touch to end our delicious meal. I enjoyed my first Tex-Mex experience here at Posada Café. The atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, the food was tasty, and the freebies(chips and salsa, sopapillas, soft serve ice cream and kids eat free on Mondays) were a nice surprise! Go and check it out! A good bang for your buck!

This is a weak three. I came here for a business lunch meeting. They have a lively atmosphere on the inside and outside, even though it’s totally catered to white people. Our server was a nice person, but pretty impatient by some of the questions my boss was asking. Maybe I’m so use to my boss’s inquisitive nature that I don’t get short with him anymore, but our server certainly seemed frustrated. The chips and salsa were ok, but nothing special. I ordered a fajita salad. It was primarily iceberg lettuce and sour cream. The fajita meat was pretty good, but the salad as a whole was so overpowered by the globs of sour cream they put. I tried some of co-workers enchiladas, and I wasn’t impressed. It was quite dry and had little flavor. The rice was whatever, but the beans were actually ok. I’d say overall its decent, but more mediocre than memorable.

Our Server was Leah. Note: There is a New manager. We Sat near back to stay toasty warm. Brrr. Cold night. Sangria to warm the body: CHECK WARM chips & Salsa: CHECK Came in on a Valpack BOGO enchilada deal. Both got Sour Cream chicken enchiladas. (Note: only the black beans have no pork or lard.) Added jalapeños to mine for a little color and bite.(Most Tex-Mex places do this by default. Cost = $ 0.75) Enchiladas were a bit bland but tasted much better with peppers and Salsa. Cilantro rice in the black beans was a winner. Wife dumped Mexican rice in he beans with similar satisfaction. The Yaho Sangria($ 6.00) was very good. Server hit her stride about 6 – 7 min after seating and was full on until the end. We let her know this was to be a «redemption visit» and we would consider the visit and future patronage accordingly. They passed! We would have liked to meet the new manager but that was not to happen tonight. Pity. They did a good job tonight. For a Saturday night, the number of patrons was disappointing compared to other establishments in the immediate area. Hopefully the new management will pull this place out. Otherwise, it may not survive. Revised 2015-MAR-1 @ 13:23CST(clarification of description)

This restaurant isn’t the best Tex Mex in the metroplex, but they are pretty decent. They do pick 2 combos for lunch at only 6.99, so it’s a pretty good deal. I ordered soft beef tacos, and they were pretty good. The chips and salsa are pretty good as well, and the beef enchiladas weren’t that bad either. The restaurant has $ 1.50MARGARITAS!!! You can not beat that price, and they are pretty good margaritas! They serve them all day, so come check this place out for happy hour. The service was good, so I will come back when I’m in the area.
