If I could give no stars I would… this place has gone down hill BAD!!! I went in with two kids I was babysitting and we waited forever just get to someone to our table to take our drink order. The worst part was the back of the place where we sat smelled like the bathroom. I don’t know if they were having sewer problems but so gross if it this place did get better I wouldn’t go back. Terrible Terrible… Spend your money someone else!!! Food BLAH I should have made myself throw it up or better yet regret now walking out.

I usually know what I’m getting myself into with Genghis, even though they’re a franchise and vary by location, I can pretty much expect the same thing. Unfortunately there aren’t any franchise locations in Los Angeles, so I’m only able to eat here when I’m in Northern Nevada or Texas, but I feel like there were more meat options at this location. My meal is usually pretty easy, no appetizers or desserts, just a regular build your own bowl and a drink on the side. The biggest factors that really determine my experience here is the staff and how they interact with the customers. I was seated pretty promptly and attended to very closely by Scott. He was great. It was a busy couple of days at this particular spot, but he was right there to make sure I had everything I needed. I definitely had a better experience then I expected because of Scott. I wish there were more Genghis Grill restaurants throughout more of my sales territory. I’m definitely going to have to come back to this one at least. Thanks Scott!

Worst gengis grill ever! This is the most inconsistent franchise ever. If you get the cabbage as the«starch» remember to ask for it to be cooked! Otherwise you get your stuff on unseasoned slaw. Also the broccoli will be raw. Just awful and unlike other restaurants of the same name. Manager was told the other places cooked the food more. She seemed to imply«they» weren’t doing it correctly. Fail!!!

We went tonight really looking forward to it. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but that was ok, it’s Saturday night. But when the hostess sat another party before us I asked why they went first and she said«they were being impatient». Well, ok. Then we go to fill our bowls and the meat selection was disgustingly filthy. The handles were covered in raw meat juice. They were out of pretty much everything including chicken. We asked for more chicken and the worker looked at us like we were requesting something off menu and walked away. We waited a while and nobody came over to refill the chicken. We asked again for help and were ignored. We went back to our table and paid for the drinks we had and tipped the waitress and left. Not sure when they will get another chance. The lack of customer service ruined my experience.

Horrible service. I mean how do you screw up a place where the customer has to build their own meal? Waited 12 minutes to get seated and then waited about 8 more minutes for a server that never showed. After 20 minutes my wife and I left. I grabbed a business card to call the GM to let her know about my experience. She wasn’t in so I spoke to the Assistant GM, he was less than genuine with an apology and said this rarely happens. Long story short why would I want to spend $ 30 – 45 for lunch at a place that isn’t full service, heck it wasn’t even partial service. Plenty of places to eat in the area, go elsewhere.

Really liked the food. Service was good. Place was clean. I like that I can pick my own food. Everything looked fresh. Would recommend this place !

I really like the concept of Genghis Grill by putting all your favorite ingredients in a bowl and let the chef to cook for you. You really get to control what’s in your bowl and how much sauce/seasoning you would like to have. The downside is it’s very likely that the rice/noodle bowls turn out too be too saucy/spicy/salty/sweet. It’s hard to tell how much seasoning you should put with the amount of the meat/seafood/veggies that you got when you’re not much of cook like myself. My last visit was over a year ago at a different location. The rice was uncooked and the ingredients weren’t fresh so I was very skeptical about coming back here when my boyfriend suggest to come here for dinner. This location turned out to be the best Genghis Grill I ever had. The prices did increase by $ 1 or $ 2 but its nbd because the food taste on point. The regular bowl is $ 12 and large is $ 14. Also, they don’t have the AYCE deal anymore. What a bummer. Overall, the food and service are really awesome. Me and my boyfriend both got a bunch of shrimp, scallop, meat and they all taste delicious. The banh mi appetizer is not bad for an Asian fusion restaurant but $ 8 for 4 tiny pieces was a bit overpriced. Will be back next time im close by to this location.

I used to love this place so much but it’s unfortunately kept declining. They took away their bottomless bowls, which was a huge reason why I went here so much in the first place. Unlimited bowls would mean you could try multiple ingredients and sauces. Not anymore. Now you get one bowl and just get to choose the size of the bowl. So you better stack the ingredients of that bowl super high and get your money’s worth. And yet, the prices are actually higher now than before with the bottomless bowl. Another thing I used to love about this place was the large variety of ingredients. Unfortunately, they took away some of the ingredients, including shrimp(NOOOOOOO). In terms of taste, it’s still pretty good. I mean you make your own bowl so as long as the ingredients are okay you can only blame yourself for a bad tasting bowl. Overall this place is still decent, just not nearly as good as before.

This place has been going downhill. Waitstaff are frequently inattentive(and prefer to talk to other employees, etc…), prices are going up, and food quality is going down(no more eggs).

I have a love and hate relationship with Genghis Grill. I used to like it a lot but then their ingredients went down hill. They don’t have shrimp on their line anymore and that was the only protein I would get there and in still mad about that. Service is still good and prompt and maybe that’s the only thing that’s why I’m still giving them 3 stars

You must like this kind of food service otherwise you may be disappointed. A waitress will take your drink order and you fill out a small card with your name and table number on it and the kind of rice you want. Head for the bowl and meat service area. There are three types of bowls, small($ 8.99) medium($ 10.99) and large($ 12.99).The bowls practically double in size with the medium having about twice the capacity of the small. etc. At the meat station you will get your bowl and fill it the the extent you desire with chicken, turkey, beef, scallops, sausage, etc. Don’t fill it to the top otherwise you will not have room for the veggies. Next stop you will fill the remainder of the bowl with an assortment of veggies, from green & red peppers, to corn to fresh spinach, etc. Then select a topping. You can taste each topping to see which one you’d like. There are«peppers» on each of the sauces indicating the«hotness» of that particular sauce. Add all you want until your bowl is running over. Leave it on the counter in front of the grill along with your small«rice» card and someone will pick it up, cooky the food on a large grill and bring to your table. The food was just OK in my opinion however some in our party loved it. Kind of like a Chinese platter with everything thrown on top and I had rather my food be kept separate and identifiable so I know that I am eating. You can eat with a fork or chopsticks. In my case I had the medium bowl and ended up taking half of the food home. Your«waitress» will expect a tip, I assume for the drinks she brings you as the food is brought to the table by a «runner» from the grill.

Good fresh ingredients! Good selection of seasoning and seafood or vegan alike. Good concept and very tasty! Very good service and very clean too. The only reason didn’t get my perfect 5 stars is because of the Small portion or rather portion control. Total all is a fun and let you involved kind of place.

I love Mongolian food over all and genghis grill is one of my favorites. I have been to quite a few of them around Dallas but Frisco one is really good. This one I would not recommend as recently they have messed up my order with starch and tried to fix it without asking me. Obviously you can’t fix starch by replacing after cooking and to top it off, they served me the fixed order in which I had ¾th of rice. The server was good enough to replace the order but my concern is if they mess up they shouldn’t serve at the first place. They denied of adding eggs to the order. I prefer eating no meat with eggs but I don’t get eggs at this location. The 2 stars are just for the food and sauces they have which I still love at other locations.

I love Genghis Grill! Primarily because I can pick what goes in my food and then they cook it! I usually get a small bowl and fill it up with chicken, their 3G mix(bell peppers & onions), potatoes, broccoli, and jalapenos, plus an egg or two over steamed or fried rice. Honestly is the best when it’s this fresh and just always so great! I also use a combination of five different sauces and pepper, garlic, and dragon salt seasonings. Last time I went, they had this little apparatus where you could pay with your credit card at the table which was pretty convenient. Actually pretty hungry right now and could use some GG! Hope to be back there soon :)

These guys perfected the assembly line for Mongolian BBQ. You don’t even have to get in line anymore — you can order everything directly from your table. I kind of feel like the line is the fun part; you’re able to see all of the ingredients and potentially be inspired to try new combinations. Fortunately, you still have this option. And let’s face it, your meal will likely turn out good, unless you choose an awful combination of ingredients. Or if the stir-fryer messes up. Or you over season your bowl, which would take an effort as the spoons are tiny. The service was great — my glass was always full, everyone was friendly, and the place was clean. I thought checking out was kind of a pain — I had to run my credit card through a mini-computer at my table. It gave me more options than I cared for, and took longer than what I’m accustomed to when paying through the server. All in all, a good place for Mongolian BBQ.

I love this place. I perfected my favorite Bowl. Chicken, mushrooms, zucchini, baby corn, water chestnuts and broccoli with the 3G sauces over white rice. Mmmm

I’ve been to this location a few times and service has been alright. I have to say the drinks are the best part, they taste like candy rather than alcohol and are so good. Typically stocked and cleaned fairly well. I like the cards, makes it alot easier to mark what you want!

Will not let you upgrade to a bottonless bowl with free birthday bowl anymore. This blows Will never dine in a genghis grill ever again. No matter how cool the name«future warrior meal» sounds.

The other reviews do a good job covering the Mongolian BBQ concept. We have eaten at this location about every 3 months for several years. Over the years GG has gone from a simple delicious make-your-own-bowl concept to having to learn a new method of ordering or bowl sizes every other visit. Even the staff get confused sometimes. Tonight was the first time we had a very poor eating experience. The grill must have been set on nuclear because everything came off of it with a thick layer of black char. If you smell burning when you come into a GG, walk over and watch the food coming off the grill. If you see black, turn around. Next time I will. And GG if you take tomato sauce off the sauce bar, please make a sign that you can ask for it. It would have saved me several minutes of confusion and tears trying to find another sauce for my preschooler. He was already heartbroken you no longer give refills on chocolate milk. My MIL was very disappointed and remarked that if this had been her first visit it would have been her last. I have to agree.
