Love this place. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because the service is hit or miss. It is not uncommon to wait over an hour for food. I miss the Beer Frau Andrea but sadly she got married and quit after years of running that place.

I was super excited to surprise my dad for his birthday with what I thought would be an excellent meal. Here’s how my call to place a to-go order went: Me: Hi, I’d like to place a to-go order please. Employee: Ok, but I’ll have to put you on hold. Me: No problem. Thank you…**silence…she’d already put me on hold** Over 8 minutes later… I hung up. Perhaps they don’t care about losing large to-go orders, but as someone who works in sales and service, this was a huge customer service failure. Now I’ll just be taking my money to Fritzl’s in Rowlett.

I enjoyed my dining experience but the food didn’t knock my socks off. I enjoy cooking German food myself and personally think my authentic Jäger Schnitzel is the best. The cutlet itself was breaded nicely and very crisp. The gravy was so so. Not very many mushrooms and it had a strange flavor/after taste. I think it was from wine being used to deglaze the pan but not being cooked off. I prefer french fries or mashed potatoes with my Jäger Schnitzel. I had fries and they were seasoned nicely. The place is ridiculously expensive IMO. $ 25 for Jäger Schnitzel? That is $ 4 pork tenderloin. Overall, it was good but my entire crew said they wouldn’t want to come back and all prefer my Jäger Schnitzel. I will probably go back to enjoy a beer and listen to the German music.

We went back after a while and I was delighted with our meal. It was really hard to choose one dish, the menu is extensive and everything seems so delicious! I looked up the menu before heading to dinner and was decided to get a schnitzel… But changed my mind… I had the rouladen with bavarian potatoes and spinach cream. Rouladen is the German equivalent of Italian braciola or French boeuf roule, a rolled beef with pickles. It is sooo good! My friends tried and they loved it too. The potatoes are incredible, seasoned with butter or cream, not sure. Spinach cream is also very flavorful. Of course I took bites from my friends food, pork schnitzel and the other was beef with horseradish sauce, both amazing! Writing this I guess j regret not having a large stomach to eat much more lol On the menu, lots of game meat for the adventurous,. At least one person ordered and was very happy with it. This time of the year they have a seasonal menu, some of the dishes are out. I missed a pasta with ham, peas and cream that my mom used to make when I was a kid. . Service was good, the server was very nice and attentive. The only thing I didn’t like was they seemed to be hiding the bread– it was a group of 15 people and we just got bread for everyone when I asked repeatedly. And you must have bread in a German restaurant! All of them, can’t tell you which one is better, it is so traditional. I left missing grandma!

Great place and wonderful atmosphere. The sausage plate is divine. The choices of great German beer is top notch. I would eat here once a week if it were closer.

Let me just jump right to it, I watched in utter horror and disbelief as MYMOTHERCRASHED to the floor in this restaurant due to her CHAIRFALLINGAPART. No joke — it happened. The wood chair(which appeared to be decades old like the rest of the décor around the restaurant) literally dismembered in front of us and my elderly mother tumbled to the ground. She eventually got back up and felt pain in her back, knees, and started a headache. But she was a super good sport and convinced us to stay. I, on the other hand, was nauseous and numb. I was(and am still) terrified by what had happened, somebody probably should’ve called a medic for me if not for my mother. Diners nearby rushed to our aid but, sadly, staff didn’t show much concern and were not apologetic. A while after the accident, a manager on duty came over, filed an incidence report and showed some sympathy. I can’t tell you how good/bad the food tasted because of how traumatized I was. I do recall it being more of a room temperature feel & not piping hot the way I like my food. And we all weren’t crazy about the side dishes. When our check came, they’d actually charged my mother’s meal. Not cool. Out of good will & common courtesy, one would expect lunch on the house(we only had 3 guests) but at the VERY least, her meal should’ve been voluntarily comp-ed. I had to request for her meal charges to be waived, which they did. Suffice to say, Bavarian Grill’s lack of attention to hazardous, dated furniture and inability to provide exemplary customer service are huge disappointments.

Date Visited: 10÷23÷15 This was my first time visiting Bavarian Grill. I was here on work from out of town and the family I was staying with had reservations. – Atmosphere: 5⁄5 My first observation was that everyone was dressed in German attire, chairs and décor was setup as if you stepped into Germany, Close seating, wooden décor, train sets, live accordionist, etc. The dining room setup was a little cluttered for my taste, and I felt like I was eating with other people at times, but I feel this is supposed to be an exact replica of a large restaurant in Germany, so I was okay with it. – Menu options: 5⁄5 October means Oktoberfest, and they have all sorts of new schnitzel that are only around during this month. Now, I have never had schnitzel, however they had all sorts like fish and veggie varieties. The restaurant itself also has a separate vegetarian menu, and gluten-free menu, which I was especially excited about, and great selection also! – Meal: 4⁄5 Started out by serving the table pretzel rolls(served warm) with butter as well as regular pretzels. Mustard upon request. The party I was with ordered whole liters of German beer, which came out as large glass mugs. We did not get appetizers. I ordered the Veggie Tofuwurst bratwurst, which came with one smoked and one bier brat. They had the consistency and texture of exactly what you would take a veggie sausage to be like, a little dry and flavorless, but still good smokey flavor to compliment the sides of mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, which were alright. served with a side of spicy mustard. Overall, the meal was great, but not awesome, I feel that the schnitzel is the prize of the restaurant, which I will have to try in a veggie/fish option some day. – Service: 5⁄5 Harland was probably one of the best servers I had ever had at a restaurant in a long time. Very genuine, very helpful, and a very positive attitude. Our party had children that were not keen to German cuisine, and he did a great job at answering there questions, and describing what things were to them. It seemed very personable whenever he was around. Harland is what made the experience worth it. – The Bavarian Grill is great, but not cheap, and an excursion everyone must experience. From the authentic German schnitzel and desserts, to tuned bells for a happy birthday celebration. It will certainly be a memorable time for you, your family and your friends! Eat, Live, and Genießen! Bavarian Grill 4⁄5

Quite the charming place, good food and friendly people. Went here for lunch with some coworkers, including a fellow born in Germany who could vouch for authenticity. The place is quite charming and welcoming, some German music is playing in the background, there are decorations everywhere, each table has big wooden chairs and looks like their own little dining room tables rather than restaurant tables. There’s even a train that goes around the room that was pretty cool. I had never tried German, er, Bavarian food before. Just like the US, Germany has different food regions that can be quite different. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, mainly because it’s the only one I recognized by name, with potato pancakes and bread dumpling. ¾ of the menu is some kind of schnitzel, so they are nice enough to have a definition of what schnitzel is, basically a cut of lean meat heavily breaded. Wiener Schnitzel is veal schnitzel. It was very good, flavorful with crispy breading. The potato pancake was good as well, though my German friend said it should have been fluffier. I didn’t care for the bread dumpling, but he said it was some of the best he had ever had, so I’ll defer to his judgement :). Definitely will be worth a second visit to try something else. It was good food, just not amazing in my opinion, and the service was a little slow. But then again I don’t know much about German food, and it was pretty slow around lunch it seemed. I’ll have to see about trying out some of their Bavarian beer and coming back for dinner…

I’ve been to Bavarian Grill 3 times, and I’ll admit I didn’t like it the first time. Maybe my taste buds weren’t mature or the fact that I was uncultured. I enjoyed it much more the second time and looked forward to when I would come back. I went again recently and the food and service were top notch. I got the Regensburger Bockbier Schnitzel mit Kartoffelbrie und frischem Gemüse(yes I had to copy and paste that). It’s a pretzel crusted schnitzel in a beer flavored sauce with thin onion rings on top and it was delicious. 3 other people tried some of my dish and all agreed that it was tasty. The schnitzel was was really good and not too heavily breaded or fried, and the sauce just made it so much more awesome. They also have a ton of sides you can choose from and substitute at no charge. I love the setting and environment of the place. It’s got a very homey and comfortable feel to it because of the decorations all around the restaurant. The service here is always great and even though Olive Garden’s motto is «When you’re here, you’re family», I feel like that accurately describes what eating at Bavarian Grill feels like.

This location has been in this same shopping center for many years and we frequented often several years ago and this was our first visit back in quite a spell.. The food is excellent and the service was also great when we were there. The lunch prices are about half the dinner prices so you have a choice of lunch or dinner. I chose the Schnitzel which was much less expensive for lunch and while it may have bene a smaller portion it was more than adequate. I came with potato salad and veggies. We will be going back.

To think I spent 34 years of my life assuming German food would be gross! I felt like challenging myself last night so I braved going in here. Oh. My. Goodness. Am I ever glad I did! The food was absolutely amazing. And would you believe they have gluten free and vegetarian/vegan menus? I had the white asparagus spears w potatoes, vegan wurst w mashed potatoes and saurkraut, pickled mixed vegetables, and red cabbage. A complimentary gluten free(by request) bread roll came with everything. I couldn’t believe how good everything was. Who knew pickled veggies were so delish? I’m officially a fan. The service was friendly and the décor kitchy — in the best possible way. Beer steins on the walls, working miniature trains, and sceneic photos of the German countryside. They even had a live polka band that accomodated a request for ‘in da gada da vita’. If you haven’t heard that version, you haven’t lived: p. Lots of beer drinking going on and even a drinking game, as expected, but this isn’t a rowdy debaucherous place. On the contrary it’s very family friendly, and many small children were present that night. In short, this place exceeded my expectations by a longshot. I’ll treat myself to another meal soon.

I gotta give it to Bavarian Grill for starting my love for German food. It started maybe 6 years ago when I first came here. Then I went around 3 – 4 years later and haven’t been back since until recently. The restaurant is very large and has a homey feel to it. My favorite part is the toy train that circles the restaurant. Quite entertaining! This most recent visit I went, we went during lunch, and I was happy to see that prices at the time were not as high(much cheaper) than I’m used to when it comes to German food! They serve you 4 different types of rolls to try which all are delicious! I ordered the jäger schnitzel and my boyfriend ordered the Würste mit Kräuter Kartoffelsalat(aka different types of sausages). What I really like about Bavarian Grill is that you can switch out your sides at no cost, and they have a bunch of different sides to choose from! My schnitzel was good. Not the most amazing I’ve had, but enough to happily satisfy my craving. We ordered the larger sausage dish so it came with 5 different sausages. They were all very unique and different from each other, and we both really enjoyed trying all the sausages. There really isn’t much to choose from if you want German food, but this is definitely a solid place in the Dallas area if you’re ever craving any.

Well well well. I had heard so much about this place so it was about time I’d try it. I was expecting something German-like, maybe cheesy decorations but was happy to see that everything was pretty damn German. The two people I ate with lived in Germany for a bit growing up(military fams) and so I let them order for me as(and I hate admitting this) my knowledge of the cuisine is quite limited. For appetizers we ordered the smoked duck and it was very yummy. The portion was tiny and not something you can really share with anyone. I think we had like 6 thin slices of duck on top of a yummy cranberry sauce and surrounded with some mandarin oranges and grapes. We each ordered the jäger schnitzel($ 25) like most people with different sides. I went ahead and just got the sides that normally comes with it(mixed pickled vegs and the spatzle, which is like pasta almost) but also tasted the red cabbage. The schnitzel was fried so perfectly I could weep. And the gravy? Fogetaboutit! The prices though for dinner are kind of high. So come with friends and eat off of each other’s plates to try different things

Alles schmeckt gut! Gulaschsuppe un salat Winzer Art war beide lecker. Auch hat mein Freund einen Schnitzel probiert, un der war auch lecker. (Translation: everything tasted good! The Gulasch soup and Winzer-style salad were both delicious; also, my friend tried a schnitzel, and it was deliecious too) I don’t generally like German food much — I lived there for a while and thought it was too heavy, but this stuff is tasty and fresh. The happy hour specials are fantastic — $ 1 for beers or an appetizer. Just make sure you know WHICH beers. Optimator on tap!!! Also, they have Kristall, which isn’t easy to find in the USA. Yum! The biergarten — indoor or outdoor — has the requisite long tables. I also noticed several train sets on tables for the Kinder. Can’t beat that: beer and kiddie activities. Happy parents! Not crowded on a Tuesday, but not dead either.
