This place was very good! We had originally ordered sandwiches next door and left after waiting over 30 minutes for two cold sandwiches with tortilla chips and no refills or communication. However, we were lucky to then come here because the staff was very nice, the sandwiches came quickly and they were delicious! Mine was grilled perfectly! It was crunchy and soft. The bread was golden but not greasy and everything was perfectly melted. I liked the way the sandwiches were wrapped. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

I am a terribly picky eater but my tastes are pretty basic. I love fresh food, lean proteins, plenty of veggies, and whole grains. My lunch at Main Street Melters met all my requirements and then some. I ordered a veggie salad with double chipotle chicken and I loved it. The artichoke hearts were a very nice touch. Not only did I love the food, but the patio seating was fantastic. A huge deck covered by a huge tree and a great view of downtown. We happened to be eating when the historic wagon train reenactment went by. What a fun day!

As a Native New Yorker I can appreciate an awesome sandwich. All Boars Head Meats and cheeses. Great eclectic Selection of Beers and Soda in a bottle. Family owned & operated great place.

We decided to stop in cause we heard the Caesar Salad was off the hook. About 2 minutes after we got there — it was obvious it had so much more to offer. One quick scan of the brews on tap and a glance at the menu should give one a clue some thought has went into this place. All of that was before we were greeted with some of the friendliest wait-staff in Hangtown. William was quick to fill us in on some of the creations and craft beers — gave us room to think(and drink). Our food was amazing. The beer was outstanding. The service was incredible and the patio bar watching the Hangtown foot and car traffic was just a bonus. Thanks for a great hometown place.

I love this place. The staff is sweet and even on days where they are swamped, they are attentive. Both smoothies and sandwiches are delicious. My boyfriend is currently working through the entire menu. We come here one a week with our dog and sit out on the patio(which is beautifully crafted). They always bring water for him as the bring us our food.

Only downside of Main Street Melters is that the restaurant was small. However, that does not affect my five star rating for them. Portions were good and the staff was very friendly. Their«guard dog» Nala was such a sweetheart!

So, I’m not a fast food person. When I travel w/my husband and kids it’s always a battle. They’re happy w/fast food and I like anything but. My favorite? A good sandwich, and I’m not talking Subway or Togo’s. Today I won the battle when we stumbled across this little gem in Placerville on our way to South Lake. I would have taken a picture of my sando, but I ate it too quick. Long story short, build your own or pick from one of their classics… variety of fresh bread, meat, cheese and veggies(salads, too). Polite and accommodating staff, nice selection of beer and a great deck out front to watch everyone go by.

Excellent unique sandwiches! Great beer! Seating is mostly outdoors. They have an area outside that is shielded from the elements as well as a large uncovered patio seating area. Inside there are a couple of tiny tables. Staff is friendly and does a great job making your food. Highly recommend to any sandwich lovers!

My mother and I came here after visiting my grandfather in the hospital. It is the closest place to eat besides the cafeteria at the hospital. We ordered the«angry Irishman» which was a pastrami sandwich with cream cheese and jalapeños. It was absolutely delicious! I didn’t want just a sandwich so we also ordered a Caesar salad and split it. The dressing made the whole salad with fresh Parmesan cheese. It was really good too! The only downside(which is why they get 4 stars instead of 5) is that the seating is pretty much only outside. So make sure you bring a jacket as it was about 50 outside when we went. There are a couple of 2 seater tables inside but you don’t really want to sit there as that is where the line is to order. Anyways for the food… it’s super yummy! As long as you have a jacket… it’s a nice view of Main Street outside.

I wish I had a place like this in my neighborhood. Classic sandwiches, friendly customer service, cheap, quick and good quality. Got the grilled cheese only $ 4 It’s on classic white bread not the Small size but a decent medium size cut in half, with American cheese. The other items on the menu looked delicious but I wasn’t craving meat, and wanted something light. It was the perfect amount. They have limited seating inside, but a lot of seating outside in their patio. Great place to grab a bit and sit and chat.

Awesome staff that accommodated our requests. Sandwiches were on spot especially when you add the grilled onions. My associate got extra pastrami on the Big Bird and that was a beast. My avocado on rye w/grilled onions was good. Wonderful outside dining and a chill local vibe. Another spot to drop by and Enjoy.

We came around 1 on a Saturday afternoon and there were 3 other people in the place. They have pre-planned sandwiches, that run from approximately $ 5 – 7, and«double meat» sandwiches for around $ 10. They also have a build your own option. Sandwiches do not come with any sides — sides are extra. They have normal deli options like chips and potato salad. We settled on their Mac n cheese grilled cheese, because well, it sounded amazing. It wasn’t amazing, but it was pretty good. They used a deli-roll instead of bread, so the grilled cheese aspect was missing and the crispy texture you get from like grilled sourdough or something would have really made the sandwich awesome. As it was, it was perfectly good. I didn’t care for the potato salad — very mustardy — but my husband liked it. They only have two tables inside, but they have a large patio for seating out front. It was extremely smokey from the fires when we went, and the inside tables were full, so we glumly sat out in the smoke. When one of the groups inside left, the server came out to tell us that a table inside was available if we wanted to move, which I thought was very nice of her. Overall, not the best deli experience I’ve ever had, but I’ll come back.

My girlfriend and I were on our way up to Apple Hill and thought we would stop in for a quick lunch. When we walked in there were 2 people in front of us in line, yet it took nearly 10 minutes to just place our order. We then sat for another 25 minutes at least waiting for our sandwich to arrive. By the time it had arrived and we were finished it was nearly an hour long ordeal, severely limiting the amount of time we could spend at Apple Hill. Very disappointing. Also, lots of flies.

We had to wait 6 minutes to order with only 3 people outside. The lady did not greet me with a smile & it’s been over 18 minutes(hot sandwich), and they have not brought the food out– I would not come here if you are working and on limited time for lunch. I would not come back either; standing in ‘no line’ & waiting for the young woman to get done chatting with her friend outside. Poor posture for a new spot; and I sure hope the sandwich is worth the wait. BTW, 6 more people are on the deck waiting for food. The sandwich was COLD! And the manager came out and completely made excuses for the COLD Ruben & said,“you don’t need to come back…“ Wow, go to Sweetie Pies–

Amazing Melter sandwiches. Awesome quality. So yummy. We were driving through the city and stopped by this cute little restaurant for early lunch. Ordered 7 different sandwiches for our group each and every one of them was amazingly tasted. They need to have a bit better customer service: delivering the sandwiches in tray with some plates, knives and forks. But highly recommend this place to everyone.

I tried out this place when they initially opened and another time after that. First impression of customer service was good. They explained how the ordering system worked since I’ve never been there before. I came in slightly before the lunch hour rush so I got the three sandwiches I ordered fairly quick. As far as the sandwiches themselves are concerned, they were just OK, and I have no complaints with the quality of meats they use. However, a sandwich pack full of vegetable condiments, with only a few slices of meat, on a thick bread does not constitute for a true deli sandwich. Flavor wise, they could also use more of it that when I bite into the sandwich I’m tasting everything and beyond. Overall, it just wasn’t as satisfying as I desired it to be. Which is too bad because I was excited at the thought of having an actual deli in town. I have not gone back since then.

We got a Turkey on Wheat and the sandwich was HUGE! I wish there was a little bit more meat… I feel like everyone else’s sandwiches on the pics were loaded! I feel mine was just your average sandwich shop sandwich… but WAY better then subway by far. Loved the out door seating! I felt like I was in a tree house! Being able to watch everyone too was so nice. We were pretty much in the shade the whole time since there is a giant tree in the middle of the sitting area! From entering, ordering, waiting, and getting our sandwich it was very fast and everyone was super nice. Overall… great sandwich shop. But I have to make sure the I have a few extra $$ since it is a little more then normal. :) btw I put $$ on because if you want a side and a drink for more then 1 person which we did… it cost more then $ 10. :)

I absolutely loved my sandwich. I got the turkey on wheat with a variety of toppings. The only thing that kept me from giving this deli five stars is that they didn’t have some toppings that I would have liked to have, such as jalapenos, or low fat condiment options. Other than the quality of food was delicious. The meat portions were great, especially compared to Subway and Togo’s where they limit the number of slices you get. The bread was fresh, fluffy and delicious. There is plenty of parking nearby, whether it be a lot or on the street. There is no inside seating but there is plenty outside. The prices are more than fair and they even deliver with orders of $ 15 or more. I am so glad my friend brought me here for lunch.

A solid 3 stars, 3.5 if I’m being generous. It’s a clean and cozy deli with a really nice shaded outdoor patio. Service was quick because I came late during the day and there was only one person in front of me. i ordered a turkey and cheddar cheese on a Dutch Crunch with almost all the fixings. I also asked for extra mayo and the hot pepper sauce. The 12 inch is huge. They split it in two and I only saw them rolling up one side and the greedy piglet in me was disappointed because I thought it looked small and I had just paid $ 9 and change. Then I opened the bag and was so happy when I saw there was two beautifully wrapped sandwiches! OINKOINK! The sandwich is very generously filled and I honestly would’ve been fine with just half. But the bread just wasn’t that great. I order the Dutch Crunch almost every time it’s readily available at any deli but this one was dry and hard and crumbly despite having extra mayo and the hot pepper sauce in it. Day old bread? It was pretty stale :( Also, weirdly enough, the first few bites tasted like tuna. I like tuna so that’s not really a problem but it was enough that I would take a bite, and then inspect, take another bite, and inspect again. Which led me to pull out bits of my turkey and it kinda did look like tuna because it was like shredded… mush? Not all of the pieces were like that, I definitely got a few slices but there were definitely some shredded bits similar to tuna out of a can. I ate it anyways because OINKOINK. However… I’m glad I tried Old Towne Deli because I love supporting local businesses and I am more than willing to give them another try in the future, but maybe with a different bread and a different meat.
