Ate here last Tuesday and then ended up going back on Thursday to try some more tacos. We enjoyed the asada and potato tacos. The Pasilla was also very good. Homemade chips and guacamole were nice but the serving of guacamole was small. Very reasonable prices.

Waited 30 mins for chips and Guacamole… that never came out even after I asked the cashier what was up when everyone else’s orders from after me started coming out. they need a better system for simple orders. Will not be returning.

Fantastic! Right off the freeway, folks. Real food. Fresh ingredients. Great flavors. An excellent selection of homemade sauces and bottled beer. I wish I lived close by.

It was our first time eating here. They gave us to try a carnitas taco, and it was delicious. We tried the Pasilla taco, chorizo taco, fish taco and chile verde taco. All of them were exquisite! Additionally, they have homemade salsas. I try the Fuego one, and it was super good. The homemade tortillas are also a plus! We will definitely keep coming here!

Amazing tacos. Dive-y atmosphere. Friendly service. Come for the food and that’s about it. All of the tacos we tried were really good but not a lot of food on it so we actually had to order more tacos after our first order. There is not much seating here — they have some inside and plastic chairs with dirty tables outside. Our bottle of beer was no deal at $ 5/piece for a Corona. I would come back but maybe for take out!

Went to Papi’s looking for a healthful, fresh, and light meal. Papi’s delivered exactly what(halibut tacos) we wanted at a great price. Looking for healthful food in Pismo Beach? Look no further!

My favorite place to get tacos! It’s a great place to stop after enjoying some nice beach time in Pismo. They make homemade tortillas and it makes a HUGE difference in the quality of the food. Papi’s serves extremely affordable and filling food. Favorites: Pasilla Grande: A large roasted green chile(not very spicy) filled with gooey cheese and spicy chorizo topped with pico and salsa verde. It’s served on fresh corn tortillas and I usually make my own tacos with these. This is my favorite dish here! Chorizo Fries: A huge portion of fries topped with copious amounts of melted cheese, chipotle crema, chorizo and green onions. The portion is definitely enough for two or three people(depending on if you order other stuff as well). Butter Beef Taco: Extremely tender beef topped with cilantro and onions. The tortillas are stuffed with meat and they are very delicious.

For Tacos in Pismo Beach, Papi’s is the place to be! On day four of ALC ride from Paso Robles to Santa Maria many riders stop cinnamon buns… but if tacos are your thing this is a gem of a place a couple blocks away on Price St. Had the Alambre and Costilla Verde tacos. Delicious… and with handmade fresh tortillas!!! Couldn’t have hoped for better. Numnumnum.

I had tacos de camarones and the butter beef tacos! The tacos de camarones were soo full of flavor. Came with shredded cabbage, corn, tomatoes, black beans and some type of white sauce. This is my favorite so far. The butter beef tacos were also good but the meat was a little dry, didn’t have much flavor. I will definitely go back.

Wow. Incredibly delicious grilled shrimp taco on a handmade corn tortilla, with some amazing salsas to choose from. This is a great little taco stand.

We found our new favorite taco place! Homemade salsas which are delicious — homemade corn tortillas(also delicious). The owner really takes pride in what he does. We actually came last weekend before dinner, but he ran out of food because he was so busy! The place was hopping again tonight.

Best tasting, best quality tacos ever! We discovered this unassuming ittle taco stand during our annual trip to Pismo. Between 4 of us, we tried most of the tacos on the menu. Unique and not your average taco stand fare. Everything was uniformly fresh and obviously made with quality ingredients. Our faves were pork and the butter beef, and chiles relleno. They also had super assortment of salsas and condiments to pile on the tacos as well. The lady taking orders was very kind and the owner was a friendly guy and chatted with my family. Definitely eating another meal(or two) on our next trip to Pismo! * My only suggestion would be that the place could stand to be little cleaner.

Went to Papi’s Grill in Pismo Beach for a quick lunch. We each ordered three of the chicken tacos. Excellent! My favorite part about this place is how fast the food comes out, and the tacos have bell peppers in them… SOGOOD! Only reason its not 5 stars is the water cups are tiny and we had to keep getting up to refill!

Tacos galore! We loved the food and engaging service. We were warmly greeted and offered samples of a couple of tacos. Who does that? Rajas, Chorizo, Queso Fundido, Pasilla… with Homemade Corn Tortillas!:0 How do you decide? We will need to return to try more of the authentic Mexican flavors and an encore of our favorites! Papi, you are THE Best!

Ordered the halibut taco and a shrimp taco and that was probably my favorite shrimp taco I have ever had. Seriously, they were just as good as the tacos in Cabo. Nothing fancy, priced at $ 5/taco(ish) but well worth it.

Seriously the best. Had no idea this place existed but they have amazing tacos! My boyfriend and I ordered 6 tacos, a quesadilla and chipotle chorizo fries(yes way too much food for 2 people) because we couldn’t decide on what sounded best(it all did). All the tacos were amazing in their own way. Each type of meat has different toppings that compliment it. My personal favorite was the chorizo. The chipotle chorizo fries. Where do I even start? When you’re hungover this is basically what you want to eat, spit up and then eat a second time because it tastes so good. Absolutely amazing chipotle sauce, perfect sized fries(no steak cut), and great quality chorizo. I’m personally not a fan of the kind of chorizo that is blood red and you need to take pepto with because it burns all the way down. This is not that kind of chorizo. It’s super flavorful but tastes perfectly light with fries. Will definitely be coming back.

Ordered two orders of carne asada enchiladas, ended up with two orders or carne asada tacos. Not the end of the world, except that they were cold and very spicy. Lacked flavor except for intense heat. I would have preferred chunks of avocado and veggies. They didn’t have any rice for a side of rice and beans so we took just beans. They were boiled beans, not refried. Just a little disappointed overall.

I came on a Friday evening with my family and it was pretty empty. This place is a tiny taco shack, probably at most 150 – 200 square feet. My family tried the shrimp tacos, halibut tacos, and the carne asada tacos. The shrimp and halibut tacos were about $ 4.50 each, so it is quite a pricey taco. I thought the taste of the tacos were good, but the amount of seafood in it was definitely lacking. The shrimp had about 3 – 4 tiny cut up pieces. We also ordered chips that came out fresh, and I really enjoyed it because it’s a thicker tortilla chip, unlike the typical store bought salty ones! I would def try this place out if in the area, but not somewhere I would crave.

After reading all the great reviews here and even having businesses I really like suggest we go here, I was so looking forward to it. The other day, we went and decided to get take-out since the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Now I love taquerias and we usually eat in but Papi’s is not very cozy. The menu is limited but I decided to get a carne asada and a carnitas taco. I was also excited that they had ceviche, one of my faves. The service was pleasant and the wait was normal, given the tacos are made to order. The disappointment came when we arrived home and unpacked. The ceviche, rather than being in a leche de tigre or equivalent, was in a thick tomato-y sauce. The consistency was really unpleasant, and after one try I set it aside. What a waste of $ 8.50. The tacos were also not good. The carnitas were to have a salsa verde on them. I certainly didn’t see any. They were completely bland. The carne asada looked better but the pico de gallo was again flavorless. No heat, no salt, no acidity. We had some salsa left over from a different Mexican place, so I used that. Really disappointing since we love patronizing local family owned businesses. We will stick with some of our faves in Santa Maria.

Still loving this place. Keep adding new unique items to the menu. Now I just call it la Superrica North. The tacos are still amazing and reasonably priced. Be careful they are filling. They also serve frijoles de la hoya and beautiful chile stuffed with picadillo. Keep it up Papi’s, you guys are killing it.
