Staff has changed and the service became not so welcoming. However the food is still good.

Never in my life have I walked out of a restaurant after sitting down. We walk into this place with my family at around 7:40pm. There were 2 people sitting at a table, a man in an apron(prob chef) and a lady speaking to him. We didn’t get any greeting so we sat down at a table near the doors. The man in the apron came over didn’t say welcome, hi or anything, so my husband said hello and he replied in a low voice gave us 2 menu’s and walked away. We won’t be back, no interaction not even a «what can I get you to drink»? Or hey folks hows it going? It just looked like he was either having a bad day or didn’t want to be there, so we got up quietly and left customer service was horrible.

To my surprise after coming out of the bank, I did not realize there was a fish and BBQ place so close to my place of employment. All I could think of is I hope the food is good so I no longer have to drive to Richmond to get my fix of fried fish. I walked in to an empty restaurant… but thought nothing of it. Although I was greeted immediately, no one thought to hand me a menu so I could order until I asked. Although more expensive then my fish spot in the Rich; I precede to order the small snapper with potato salad(since I didn’t see fries on the menu). Upon arriving to work, I was excited for my meal. Then it happened; I opened the container only to find store bought potato salad and fish that look like it seen better days and was fried in very old oil. I still preceded to eat as I did spend $ 14.00 for this plate. Why did I do that? Oh yea because I spent $ 14.00 and unfortunately the plate was HORRIBLE! there was more corn meal than fish and the potato salad… well we will just call it Lord Voldemort. basically he who must not be named(i.e. we aint gonna speak on it… yuck!) I write this review as I hear my stomach growl because I could not stomach any more bites; and that’s saying a lot considering I am a gastric bypass patient. I logged onto Unilocal to see the reviews to justify this horrible experience. but NOOOOOOOOOOO; all the pics that have been posted look so wonderful I’m wondering if folks posted the wrong pics to the wrong Unilocal!Normally I would give a restaurant a second chance; but I will just continue to waste my entire lunch driving to Richmond to get edible fish at a good price.

The worst food and service I ever experienced in my not be fooled by soul food. They treat Afo Americans the worst. Love to show their sign they have the right to refuse service if you express any concern. Well now afther being discriminated against would not let me order something else, afther legitimate complaint. I am now suffering from gastrointeritis… nausea and vomiting. Frequent stools afther eating partially uncooked fish. Started a few hours afther leaving When I mentioned it the Lady in the kitchen stated she need to get out of here.

This is my 3rd time here. I was very disapointed. My food was hot like it was warmed in the microwave. The mac was pale like snow the greens were bland like the mac looked. They gave me two bland slices of white bread. I waited 30 minutes for my order but in accuality it could have been done in 5. I was the only customer in the store. Will not be going back strike 3. It was like church food u don’t mind getting for free yet I paid 20.00 for it. I ordered BBQ ribs and brisket side of mac cheese and greens. I tried to take a pic but my lighting gave the food to much justice

One word can describe this establishment«TERRIBLE.» My girlfriend and I stopped by to try their barbeque. When we came in, there was no greeting what so ever. So we took a seat, found what we wanted, then waited for someone to take our order. The server shows up at the table says nothing. Just stood there with his pen like we were a inconvenience. So my girlfriend orders the BBQ chicken and the server asked«large or small» not having been there before she asked how big is the small. The server looked annoyed and just repeated«large or small» and made no effort to explain the difference in size. So she got the small and I ordered the brisket. But not the half of the problem here. Our food took an hour to come all the while 3 customers were served ahead of us. And after we waited an hour the food we received was just subpar. The chicken was dry and brisket was more than 75% fat and absolutely disgusting. So we left without tipping and will never return.

Wynn is another nice addition to Pinole’s growing list of non-chain restaurants. I had been waiting to review them until I tried the fish. It looks like that isn’t going to happen anytime soon. S has likes the brisket, they serve in sliced rather than chopped and they give him some of the crispy fatty ends. I’m not that much of a brisket fan, but I seldom turn down a taste off his plate. The beef has a nice bark and is not overcooked. I order the links. They don’t make the links, they do smoke them. I like them so I order them whenever I come here. For sides I bring home the Mac and cheese and potato salad. They are well prepared. The BBQ sauce is very great, it has a bit of heat but it is not overwhelming. There is never any sauce left on my plate. The restaurant is clean and empty. I think most people get the food to go. The people who own and work at there are pleasant. It is nice not to have to travel far to have some Q!

My Dad and I randomly decided to come and try out this place since we both love BBQ. The place was empty and we were literally the only people dining there. The gentleman who helped us was extremely friendly and made us feel warm and welcomed. He even opened the door for us when he saw us approaching the restaurant so that was really sweet of him. The ribs we ordered could’ve been more tender; it was very fatty and for a slab of ribs costing $ 22, I’ve had better elsewhere for a lot cheaper. I decided to order a glass of Riesling and I was very surprised that he poured it from the bottle that was sitting up on the shelf above the bar where it is not cooled. White wines are never, ever suppose to be served at room temperature especially when the room it’s in, is warm. First time I’ve been to a restaurant where I’ve been served warm wine. I took the glass politely and thanked him because he was so sweet that I didn’t have the heart to tell him that it is wrong. Now it’s just a funny afterthought. Atmosphere is very down to earth, makes you feel like you’ve come into someone’s home and very casual; no fufus or frills. Get your hands dirty and have lots of paper napkins. Tiger prawns were awesome and so was the Mac & Cheese. I took a couple of leftovers home to my husband and he said it was good too. I’m thinking their crowds come during weekends especially when they’re serving up Crab on Fridays and Saturdays. I even saw a huge tv for what looks like karaōke nights and a small dance floor. I’m planning on coming back here to try other items, especially the Garlic Crab.

Would have given it a 5 but didn’t like the seafood smell when, I walked in, Loved the kindness of the man behind the bar whom took my order he warmed up to us, he took my order and the chef/cook went in the kitchen and began to prepare the food. I had Links with Mac n Cheese, came with a piece of bread wish it had two pieces, you get a lot of links, everything was very tasty not to hot or spicy just right Loved every bite! Also the atmosphere has a nice setting would make for a great place to eat with others. I do plan on going back to try some other things on the menu, also hope it doesn’t have the seafood smell, but if it does I will point it out that can run people away! But if you want tasty Links check them out. Help support local business, let’s keep the money local rather major name business!

Charlotte was an excellent server. This restaurant was very clean. The atmosphere is family friendly. The french fries were definitely home made and not frozen from a bag. The décor is pub style. I loved all the comfort food on the menu. But I chose the Talipia in corn meal breading. They have tartar sauce and hot sauce. For $ 11 dollars I had 3 pieces of FRESH fish, potatoe wedges and a slice of bread. This place is an excellent addition to the city of Pinole

I wish I could give them a great review, but I can’t. The thought of Seafood and BBQ seems like a good idea. It’s the execution of putting the idea into place that falls short. Unfortunately I’ll have to make the trek to Pican in Oakland where the food and service are excellent. Sorry Pinole another loss for us.

Small locally owned black business in Pinole, simply home cooked food… You can’t beat that! The red snapper is perfect, the French fries were hand cut and the BBQ ribs are beef and the sauce is amazing! Not really a place you want to sit down but I’m rating the flavor of the food.

My girlfriend and I are both foodies, and looking for something good to eat. We were in the Safeway parking lot and saw the sign, and immediately agreed this would be a great place to try. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by Stephanie, who made us feel at home. She took our orders and joked with us, while we watched Family Feud on the TV. My girlfriend got the fried Tilapia, which I tried, and we both thought it was really good. I actually wish I ordered that, and will order that next time. I ordered a pick 2 plate of bbq chicken and beef brisket. The meats were both good, cooked through, but had a little too much bbq sauce on them for me. Regardless, the meat was great. For our sides, we both chose Mac n Cheese, which was baked and really good. It was moist and fell apart as you cut into it, cooked just right. The atmosphere was nice. We sat at the bar, so we felt more at home. We were the only customers, so it was quiet other than the TV. The facility looks like it used to be a bar/night club, with a dance floor and a private seating area. Not sure if this still gets used at night, as we were there midday. Stephanie and the other employees all talked to us at various points, making sure we had everything we needed. One thing to note, the sign says they take Amex, but for some reason their system couldn’t charge it. Overall, Wynn’s Seafood and BBQ was a great dining experience. Great food, great hospitality, and a great atmosphere. We will definitely return.

This place is a new family owned BBQ and Seafood joint in Tara hills located in the Safeway shopping center. Being that this is a new place, when I walked in it was very empty except for a sweet little girl sitting down saying hello. I believe this was the owner’s daughter. A older woman came from the kitchen and I told her I wanted to see the menu. Everything looked good but the prices were kind of steep. I settled on the fried prawns which comes with 1 side… I chose Mac and cheese. The total was $ 15.99 and did not include a drink so I tossed another dollar for some iced tea. The wait was looooong despite being empty. The deep fryer light went out and had to wait for someone to come in and fix it. I was waiting for my car to finished being washed across the way, so after 25 minutes, I told them I would be back. I came back about 25 min later and the food was ready and still hot. Food: Mac n cheese was thick but had some flavor too it. It lacked a little seasoning though, but not enough to stop me from eating it(I was starving). 5 prawns came with my order, yes the $ 15.99 order. However, they were really huge prawns. If I could rate the prawns alone it would be 5 stars. They were sooooo delicious I even started eating the pieces of crunch collecting at the bottom of my takeout container. And they made sure to have all the sauces(tartar, hot, and cocktail). Nonetheless, this place has some great food and I’m sure as more people try them out, business will pick up. They just need to fix the minor issues like wait time. Finally, I don’t have to drive to oakland for good seafood. They also have crab! Can’t wait to try that! Good luck to the owners!

Wynn’s Seafood and BBQ was totally empty noonish save for the waitress: no patrons, no cook. hesitant to order after persuing menu– dinner oriented, no lunch menu. eats: potato salad(2.25)side –totally referigerated when i got it. –let it thawed an hour or so, taking nibbles every 15 minutes. –nearly thawed. salad had a sweet taste, potato mushy above average quality. definitely not from costco. take outs: –inferring(from salad) food is good quality here salads a good tell re quality of food. –didn’t want a heavy meal so passed on catfish, tilipia, bbq, burgers(7ish) –definitely not too many cooks in the kitchen, there was none.
