Cute little place when it’s not too busy. Mussels and risotto have been fantastic every time I have it! In fact I want the mussels now! Came for the first time a few years back as an out of towner and loved it. I am long over due

Happened to stop into the Sidewalk Bistro for a drink with my husband before dinner at another restaurant down the street where we had reservations. The bartender, Bobby and waitress, Sara couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming to the restaurant. Poured a great drink. Dinner menu and the specials that night sounded delicious. Prices looks reasonable. Will definitely be heading back there for dinner. Check it out.

3.5÷5 for me here We popped in here later on a Friday night around 9pm or so and found this place comfortably full. The bar was lively with people watching some sports games and the dining room around the corner was half full. The casual atmosphere allowed for us to enjoy some good conversation without having to shout and the service here was friendly throughout our dining experience. Getting to the food, we started with the simple mussels dishes that had some excellent garlic flavors, were cooked well and allowed for some perfect bread dipping at the end. For our mains we tried the burger that was cooked to order and good, the special pork chops with some veggies that were a bit smaller than I had hoped and the nicoise salad that was ok. For sweets we tried the profiteroles that were split in half and had some generous ice cream portions in between that was light and hit the sweet tooth. Overall, after some tea and espresso to wrap the meal up with tax and tip, I thought it was fairly priced. If you are in the town of Piermont and need a good place to grab a bit on the strip, this is definitely a good starting point. Buon appetito.

Decided to give them a try off a recommendation. They have a nice patio area in the back but it was too humid to sit out there. As for the food, pretty good but could use some tweaks. First off, our bread was not warm and the butter was rock hard. It literally ripped the bread. Why is soft butter so often overlooked? Le sigh I got the Croque Madame. For $ 11 it was a little on the smaller side but surprisingly filled me up. While it was delicious, I had two problems with the dish. First my sunny side egg was completely overcooked and instead of a runny yolk oozing all over the sandwich it was just a hockey puck. It was a major let down and really took away from my meal. Second, the chicken egg was super small that didn’t even cover the entire sandwich but was $ 1.50 extra. It is really hard to justify the price of the chicken egg. Maybe if it was a quail egg I would not have minded. They are at a 3.5 in my book. Warm bread, soft butter and a properly cooked sunny side up egg would have bumped them up higher. 9÷29÷2015EDIT This message is for Sal. I’m just following up with your question. I dined at your place not last Tuesday(9÷22÷2015) but probably a few weeks ago. It was a Tuesday though. I paid in cash so I don’t have an exact date. I’m a little puzzled at your statement«It’s strange that your egg wasn’t cooked they way you specified, as we’re usually very careful in the kitchen.» I didn’t specify anything; I ordered the Croque Madame. Your menu states«Cooked ham and Gruyère cheese sandwich with Béchamel sauce, topped with a sunny side egg, salad and french fries». Not sure if you communicated incorrectly in your response or don’t know your own menu or what but a sunny side egg has a runny yolk– that’s the only way it can be cooked. I will definitely be back as I thought the food was solid but needed some tweaks. I will update my review. I hope my suggestions are taken into consideration and thanks for reaching out. –Tony

The mussels poulette was perfect, the Riesling was local and delicious, and service couldn’t be beat. We’ll definitely be back.

A neighborhood gem. Great find in Piermont. Reminiscent of Provence… Southern France. Even authentic French tablecloths. The menu is wonderful, the wait staff are friendly and amazing. The specialty drinks are sophisticated and delicious. Good selection of wines. An instant new favorite go to place for me and our family. If you have ever been in southern France, you will be at home. Pleasantly surprised!

We had a birthday celebration and met up with a few couples. We were seated in a beautiful garden in the back of the restaurant with its own bar, very inviting. Friendly staff and good service. We ordered a verity of dishes that were all very tasty and nicely presented. Prices are reasonable and we all enjoyed the atmosphere and food we had. Highly recommended, we are surly coming back here.

We stopped in and had dinner. We sat inside due to the weather. The restaurant was nicely decorated and had a pleasant atmosphere. The food was fabulous with reasonable portions. Between the three of us we had a seafood, duck and chicken dish. All were great but the duck was exceptional. The service was very good. Sangria was good as well. We will be adding them to our list.

My husband and I decided to go to the Sidewalk Bistro for an early Sunday dinner and we were not disappointed! Trying to decide where to eat was our biggest problem of the night. They had tables set up outside in the front of the restaurant, inside the restaurant was decorated beautifully and we made the decision to sit in the back of the restaurant that was set up like a garden. So beautiful!!! Very attentive waitstaff, great food, great ambiance– the perfect setting for a mid summer nights dream!

Had a great experience here. Sat outside and had some delicious pork and risotto. The waiter was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food and the quality that you get. They also have a nice wine and dessert selection

Our first time here. It’s Independence day, rainy day, in the low ’70’s. Stopped in for brunch. I ordered Benedict Maryland. It was good. They had small basket of bread, mini croissant was nice, but the baguette were stale. Server might be new. He was a bit slow in service, and charged us a Bellini when we didn’t order.

Really nice menu, and the food was great. The restaurant is small and crammed full of tables. The waitress tripped over chair legs multiple times. Both waitress and kitchen service were very slow. If you have hours to spend waiting, then it’s worth the wait.

Was here four years ago with friends and tried Steak Tartare. It was so fresh and yummy. This time with my lover try the duck meat. Wow it is surprisingly delicious. The meat is so tender and juicy. Also order and try their avocado crab salad, which is delicious too.

Came here on a Saturday around 5:30 on labor day weekend, and sat outside with my boyfriend. The food was just OK. I first got the salad, which was described as greens with a dijon dressing. When it was sat down in front of me, it was incredibly disappointing. it was just greens with two cherry tomatoes sliced in half on the corners of the plate… the flavor of the dressing was barely there, so basically it was just an appetizer of lettuce, and it was horrible. It was not at all worth $ 7 with the lack of flavor and veggies! Why didn’t I tell my waitress about this lackluster salad? Well, her and the rest of the staff just got their paychecks, and apparently decided to have a little staff meeting outside right in the middle where the hostess stand is. I didn’t see her again for a while, until she finally brought our dinner out. I ordered the vegetable rissoto, and it was great. I would have washed it down with another glass of prosecco, but still the waitress wasn’t around. We left after that and I don’t plan on ever going back.

The food is awesome. A little pricy. But you get what you pay for. Best Caesar salad with chicken I have ever had. Of course they call it «Salade Romaine» just to be French. I especially like the fact that we rode our bikes up there and parked them across the street at the deli. Even though we were hot and sweaty and dressed for biking we fit right in. We went back for dinner a few weeks later(dressed a little nicer and less sweaty). I had the special. It was Grouper(one of my favorites anyway), I forget exactly how it was prepared but it was delicious! The table shared the muscles and everyone is still talking about them weeks later. The next time I go, I have my fingers crossed that the back deck will be accessible because everyone says its lovely back there. I highly recommend this place!

Awesome time with a group of 3 on Bastille Day — I got the escargot as an appetizer(pretty good) and the lamb chops were superb — plus our waiter was excellent. Love dining outdoors in Piermont — even met and conversed with the owner of Sidewalk Bistro(he was incredibly friendly) as he walked by our table. I would definitely visit Sidewalk Bistro again the next time I’m back in town.

This place opened in 2008 with sidewalk, inside or outdoor backyard garden seating, weather permitting. I have been here at least 7 times over the past year for very enjoyable dining experiences both inside and outside so I will continue to return. On my first visit I met with owner Mr. Daout Celestin and his dedicated staff at this hidden gem, with a little slice of Paris. It seems Daout is always on hand and his staff seem to be real family like. We frequently have the same wait staff. We asked for his recommendation of a red wine and he recommended a very reasonably priced 2010 Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendocino County. My appetizer was spectacular tuna and salmon tartar My friend and I both ordered the duck confit medium rare(per chef’s recommendation) and it was spectacular. I have subsequently have had the whole lobster and steak. I will continue to return here.
