Been coming for years. It’s always consistently delicious. The staff is great and attentive. Never had a bad experience

This was a very cute restaurant. I went for a friend’s birthday brunch. Complimentary valet parking, so that was nice. Unfortunately, the waiters were kinda all over the place. He kept asking what I ordered because he kept forgetting and he just asked me 2 seconds ago. A friend d of mine ordered the Farfalle Pasta with smoked salmon but it tasted very bland and watered down.

This is the sweetest place to go for dinner. The owners sing and greet you. There is dancing in the back, the food is spectacular and make sure you order the chocolate soufflé!!!

I recently attended a wedding here. While I wouldn’t say it’s the most authentic French food, it was tasty nonetheless, especially for reception food. Servers mainly seemed to be in their late teens/early twenties, but everyone was very professional, polite and attentive. The restaurant itself was elegant yet was somewhat dated. Some of my favorite dishes of the night consisted of the prosciutto wrapped melon and brie, clams, and mushroom napoleon. The filet mignon was also very tender and cooked well, however, I would have preferred if the peppercorn sauce was served on the side. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening.

Ate in real Paris many times… This is definitely NOT Petite Paris! Very disappointed. As soon as we came in we smelt an unpleasant aroma. Our waiter was incapable describing dishes to us. The food was bad, we couldn’t believe we came to a French restaurant. I don’t understand why it is rated so high.

My favorite restaurant in Bergen County. They gave the best escargot, onion soup, duck and souffles. If you are looking for an elegant restaurant with amazing food definitely come here.

Pleasant surprise. It felt like an old school authentic french cuisine was cooked by someone close. Their décor is old school, ambiance outdated, their food portions were surprisingly big, specially their soufflé! But all genuinely good food. I still remember their great big soufflé that I will recommend.

The food is delicious, satisfying both sweet and savory needs, but not overdoing it. The restaurant itself is very elegant and the waiters, waitresses, and owners are kind. I enjoyed my time there.

Had brunch here with some girlfriends. Food was mediocre at best. Menu says you can order eggs from your waitress. When my friend ordered 2 sunny side up she informed us you’re only allowed one so I told her she could have mine. We had 3 mimosas — 1 per person to the tune of $ 22 bucks. Way overpriced and unimpressive. Would never go back here for brunch. $ 107 bucks for 3 people for a less than delicious meal is not acceptable.

I was there last night as part of an after-show party; there were about sixty of us and we were presented with the most incredible buffet I have ever seen. Two main stations: a salad bar and a hot entrée table, each laid out to perfection. Unlike some buffets, this one was not an attempt to impress with sheer quantity, but with the quality of the offerings: things like jicama salad and celery root salad, a beet salad that was unbelievably good, plus numerous other dishes. There were cheeses, fresh olives and dates, plus smoked salmon with side servings of capers, onions. And the layout of the items on a circular table was superbly organized and artistic: a feast for the eye as well as for the palate. On the hot buffet, there was quite a variety of offerings, something to please any palate. Seafood Provencal, Braised Short Ribs, Tilapia Florentine, Eggplant Parmigiana, a chicken dish, plus vegetables: Brussels sprouts, a potato casserole to die for, as well as other dishes I can’t remember. There was also another station where fresh prime rib would be carved to your order, served with au jus and horseradish. I made it a point to sample everything that was offered, in small portions. The dishes ranged from simply delicious to exquisite. I have never had a meal that was more perfectly prepared and as amazing as I had last night. And the service was first-class: the waiters/serving staff showed exactly the right amount of attention without being intrusive and seemed genuinely happy to have us there as guests. In a nutshell: this is the single best dining experience I’ve had in recent memory and I place it in the top two or three dining experiences I’ve ever had. Truly a memorable evening and a tip of the hat to Gaspard, Madeleine and Francois for their efforts. :)

this place is like being invited to the french country home of a gracious and incredibly sweet couple/host. when you walk in the door, you’re greeted by madeleine herself with a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. her husband(the chef) also walks around throughout the evening greeting guests enthusiastically, making sure your meal is perfect. the couple even graces the dining room with a french song or two and a yodel(really so sweet and adorable!). they have a sunday brunch buffet, which has a decent spread, but don’t expect extravagance. this place, in general, is excellent french home cooking. almost rustic, with a fancy flair for flavor(how’s that for alliteration!). they also have a few plates that are daily specials(under $ 30 per plate), and a pre fixe lunch and dinner(dinner is only $ 32.50 for 3 courses). these are outstanding deals and a great way to try the menu if you’re not committed to spending the $ 50+ for the a la carte menu items. despite being french food, it isn’t too heavy(creams, butter, decadence, etc). don’t get me wrong, you KNOW you’re eating french food because those items are present in the dishes, but not overly so. i recommend the wild mushroom napolean; the sauce is wonderful and the asparagus is cooked to perfection. also, don’t forget to try their souffles. i would recommend the chocolate, but they also have a grand marnier one. the chocolate mousse is also excellent. this place isn’t some fancy schmancy high-falutin’ resto that you might find in the city, but the personable experience, delicious food, and homey country house ambience are a perfect setting for a beautiful dinner. HIGHLY recommended.

Easily one of the best restaurants in the area — an excellent place for Sunday brunch. For holidays, their seating availability fills out so be sure to make reservations as early as possible. The ambiance is that of an old traditional restaurant. Nothing fancy with the décor — it’s a very cozy place. I went for a typical Sunday brunch which provided the option of a prix fixe multi-course menu or a brunch buffet. I opted for the brunch buffet. It was a typical buffet with a salad area, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. Everything was done very well. Omelettes were made to order upon request. They also offered dessert. The crème brûlée was probably one of the best. I like it when the texture is creamy smooth inside with a near hard candied shell on the top. Perfection. I’ve also tried the soufflé which was also excellent. I can’t say that I’ve had better crème brûlée or soufflé in NYC/NJ area. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and looking for a great Sunday brunch place. I plan to try out other items during dinner and lunch hours in the future.

My family and I really enjoy their special occasion brunches. We came for Mother’s Day. Come hungry! The spread is amazing! Everything from fresh apps, salad options, classic french dishes, a carving station, and awesome desserts! Madeline and her husband, the chef, sing a french duet every time. Just amazing!

Our ultimate reason for going to Madeleines was for their soufflé. My husband and I love them and they aren’t exactly ubiquitous on restaurant menus these days. The restaurant is dated but Madeleine and her staff make up for it with friendly and gracious service. She is very«hands on». Their wine list is not vast, but reasonably priced and with more than enough of a selection to please any palette or budget. We began with the house smoked salmon– it was delicious and a surprisingly generous portion for the price charged. I would have liked it sliced a bit thinner, but overall very good. The strawberry sorbet with mint was a wonderful palate cleanser. Entrée-Snapper with Dijonaisse sauce-excellent. We also enjoyed their sides of vegetables — ratatouille, potato au gratin, and green beans. All cooked perfectly, especially the potato au gratin. In between courses, we were serenaded by Madeleine and her husband/Chef. They sang in French and he included some Yodeling. It added a very intimate touch to our dinner. And then the moment we were both waiting for –the Grand Manier soufflés! They were huge and served with a vanilla cream sauce. They say it is for two, but we don’t share soufflés. They were excellent. We savored each bite even though we were quite full. Madeleines is unpretentious while offering a warm ambiance, solid food and generous portions(unusual for most French restaurants).

I’ve lived near this restaurant for a while now, and I have driven past it many, many times. Only recently have my husband and I dined here… once for brunch, and tonight for dinner. Both times were exceptional. The service is very friendly and attentive. The food is outstanding, but as good as the food is, it’s the finer details that make this place worthy of 5 stars. My husband’s martini was perfect, they serve a delightful strawberry sorbet with mint as a palate cleanser between appetizer and entrée, and their coffee always tastes like the best cup of coffee ever. Although the décor is a bit dated, there is a nice ambiance about the restaurant. Tonight was the first time I had a real soufflé! I’ve always wanted to try an honest to goodness one, but most restaurants try to pass off a warm flour-less cake as a soufflé. After our waiter took our dinner order, he mentioned the two types of soufflés that could be prepared during dinner. My heart skipped a beat. I knew that this was the real deal… having to order way in advance. We ordered the chocolate served with a crème anglaise. It was divine. So light and creamy, so worth the wait! This is not necessarily the place to come if you are looking for a dinner scene, but for cuisine(and if you are a sucker for a good cream sauce, like me), I highly recommend Madeleine’s.

A wonderful family owned restaurant with consistently outstanding food. I have been coming here for several years. Madeleine, the hostess is French, her husband, the main chef is swiss. The ambiance and service are excellent. This is a really nice special occasion restaurant with a family feel. My favorites here are the Duck Confit and the chocolate mouse. We almost always order a huge to-go Thanksgiving turkey, sides and chocolate mousse from Madeleine’s for Thanksgiving. You will never bother cooking Thanksgiving turkey yourself again after you try theirs. The catering size bowl of their traditional french chocolate mousse is amazingly good.

I’ve always had an enjoyable experience at Madeleine’s, because Madeleine and her husband really are a delight and take such pride in their restaurant. They host special events like Oktoberfest featuring buffet-style German favorites(my family is from Germany and we were more than impressed). At the end of every night Madeleine and her husband always sing together for the restaurant, which is adorable. That being said, I do understand the complaints about the host, but the rest of the staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Plus, authentic French food is hard to come by in the suburbs of NJ, so don’t let the minor complaint about the host deter you. Petit Paris isn’t «hip» so to speak, as there are a lot of older patrons, but the food is excellent!

Took my friend here for her birthday with her boyfriend. This place is amazing. Huge ample parking lot. The host was extremely polite and friendly, ready to take my coat(I was soaked through because it was raining that night). The waiter was also friendly. We each had the price fixe menu, which was well worth it. I definitely remember trying escargot for the first time and mmm, delicious. Her and I shared the chocolate soufflé at the end, which was the best ending to a dinner ever. I don’t remember my main course(this was about over a year ago), but I remembered walking out of there insanely happy with everything. Definitely have been itching to go back! Will soon!!!
