I wish it were closer to Austin, but it’s absolutely worth the drive. And they have gluten-free options which is a huge plus. Very enjoyable whenever we’ve been.

My wife and I live in Austin and have for years, so we are very aware of how many great restaurants there are to chose from. When we’re looking for casual dining on date night, Russo’s is one of our favorite places to go. Their great food and optional gluten-free menu make the short drive from Austin worth every minute.

We love this restaurant, the pizzas are great! We love the atmosphere and the service. I love the selection of pizzas and that you can build your one or just get a slice! The staff are quick and super nice, if you are wanting delicious pizza and wine this is the place for you. Especially since there is not a great pizza selection in Pflugerville. I did not really care for the calamari but the pizza has always been great and I have had the Greek salad which is great too! Don’t forget to stop by the dessert counter on your way out! The desserts are to die for! They can get really busy and only have a small bar area do be prepared to wait outside if there is a wait. Also if you sit at a table for two it can be a little cramped with drinks, appetizers and your pizza. Overall a great place and worth the wait!

Now that PBK is closed for the second time in 2 years I guess this place has to pull up the slack! I mean, Pflugerville is really lacking in the trendy restaurant department. Russo’s might be able to represent Pflugerville where other trendy restaurants have failed mainly because its prices are much more reasonable and the restaurant experience is still innovative and the pizza is delicious. My sister and I had a few glasses of wine and shared an appetizer and a made to order pizza. Any restaurant with Robert Mandavi wine by the glass gets an up-vote from me. Second, the calamari pieces were huge and really fresh. I mean one of the calamari pieces was as big as my hand! The pizza was big and overflowing with our toppings of choice. Then, when you are about to leave, you can’t because you realize you need to bring home a piece of cheesecake. They have a tempting case of about 10 different kinds of tantalizing cheesecakes(even oreo!!!) just staring at you… saying eat me, you just ate that pizza, eat me too! And so you do.

Went here for the 1st time today. I was seated immediately. My waitress came by and took my drink order. She had my drink, plus some bread and seasoned oil at my table promptly. I was indecisive as to whether I wanted to try a pizza or some pasta, she recommended the spaghetti and meatballs. So, that’s what I went with. My food arrived within a reasonable time. Spaghetti had a generous amount of sauce, two large meatballs, was very hot and looked quite appetizing. That being said, I was disappointed in the taste of the sauce and the meatballs. Neither were very flavorful, just mediocre. If I happen to be in they area again, I will give them another try. I’ll order the pizza and we’ll see how it does.

We got the New York Village and a Margherita. Decent pizza… Lots of toppings, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Food only: 4 stars. Their pizza is delicious and they never skimp out on toppings … Meatballs are pretty delicious too! Rating is 1 less because their delivery sucks. So, first off the don’t deliver for lunch. It’s fine whatever. They deliver for dinner, which is the most important, their delivery system is so lacking and probably understaffed that by the time we get our pizzas, its cold. Like placed in the fridge cold-cheese is hard and the meat is cold. We have had this issue for 3 orders, in the last month… We are less than 5 mins from the restaurant, and understand that there is a a delivery route, but gosh don’t over pack the car and have your customers eat a cold pizza. We also had our order wrong once, ordered a cheese pizza, it came 55mins later garnished with pepperoni, sausage and green pepper. The guy had left without confirming and we were too hungry to call and wait for another delivery, but its not okay! Hope their delivery system gets a revamp. Otherwise, we have been resorting to delivery Chinese …

I’m very disappointed. The hostesses were super sweet and the wait was only 10 – 15 minutes to be seated. That said, it should probably be communicated with customers when slices aren’t available, since that is the major appeal of the place for some, like me with just myself and a small child. Supplies run out– I get it; I wasn’t told though until after I ordered drinks and waited and waited while my server talked behind the bar. I was charged for the drinks and when I talked to a manager about the situation, because we didn’t eat because I don’t need a whole pizza or want to pay the price for one and my kid wanted pasta, he said, «had I known, I would’ve given you a discount.» Dude! I was standing in front of you — you had that moment to reseat and redeem yourself. Ugh!

The pizza here is Ah-mazing!(Second only to Mellow Mushroom in my book, but let’s be real, you are not going to beat that in the USA!) The dough/crust is delicious and the ingredients always seem fresh and yummy! The cheesy garlic bread dipped in the marinara sauce is to die for(if you are doing take out or delivery ask for extra)! I always order a Mediterranean salad to start(in an effort to pretend to be a little healthier), and it’s delicious as well! Pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts mix well and taste great! When we decided to order pizza and watch a movie as a family this is our go to spot! Side note — They also have HUGE(really ginormous) pizzas for parties, easy and delicious, win/win!

Checked out this place Saturday and was overall happy. Nate was our server and took good care of us. The Greek salad was disappointing as it had bell peppers in it … huh? I know! Of the million times I’ve had Greek salad, I’ve never had it with bell peppers. No worries — picked them out and carried on. Everything else about the salad was good, as was the dressing. We also had pizza and spaghetti. The pizza was great — legit NY style pizza, in every way. The spaghetti wasn’t really my taste, but my dining companion really liked it. I also had a glass of decent house cabernet, which was a reasonable $ 6. A table next to us had the chicken wings — omg they looked amazing, and I will be trying those next time with some pizza!

Russo’s is a great place. I love the atmosphere– the booths, tables, the wonderful, kind, and patient staff, patio, pictures on the walls. It can get a little loud in here, but I don’t mind it terribly. My main complaint is that there is no consistency with the food. One day, everything is fantastic, but the next day, everything is off. Since I love pizza and this place is so close by, I want to love it, but I don’t and I can’t and I think I have given them plenty of shots. Most recently, my brother, fiancé, and I stopped in for dinner. I ordered a slice of greek pizza, brother ordered cannelloni, and fiancé ordered the baked ziti and tomato soup. Our waitress was great, she gave us time to decide, kept our drinks full, but never brought bread and dipping sauce to the table. When asked about it(after a soup was brought to the table), she told us they didn’t have any made. Fail. Eventually, midway through our meal, she brought some out. Okay, but i was already halfway through my slice and stuffed. Both boys devoured their meals and seemed to enjoy them considering few words were exchanged. Both looked good, but honestly all I saw was cheese… lots and lots of cheese. Of course anything is good covered in cheese. On the other hand, my slice was meh. It was loaded with so many toppings, I initially had to eat it with a fork and knife. There were way too many huge slices of tomatoes(I’m not entirely sure they were Roma tomatoes either) and the feta was not even discernible. Eventually I ended up dumping most of the toppings so I could pick up the pizza. Here’s the sadness. The bottom half of the pizza crust was burned black; the top part was soggy. The best part of the slice was the top crust. During previous visits, actually just one(this is when I fell in love and decided on subsequent visits that I need to keep giving this place a chance), the pizza was perfect. Crust was crispy, but not burned and there was a good balance of toppings: not too overwhelming, but not too sparse. Other occasions, it’s just so so, but usually partially burned/soggy. I usually stick to pizza, but I have tried the bruschetta, which is delicious, and the portobella friti with gorgonzola sauce… omg, amazing! On one occasion I ordered a salad and all the veggies were pretty and fresh; on another occasion, by lettuce was brown and wilted. Our to go orders have also been very inconsistent. We were once charged for the free bread and dipping sauce because it was a to go order. When we have ordered whole pizzas for pickup, we have been pleased with them, but honestly I have to stick the slice in the oven to get it crispy. I would never recommend ordering a pasta dish to go. We ordered a baked ziti once and it seriously looked like a children’s portion of pasta and sauce and a sprinkle of cheese. For $ 12 – 15!!!(I’m not exactly sure of the price, but I know it’s over $ 10) Shoot, I could have made that myself for $ 2. There was nothing baked about it. The desserts are pretty good too, particularly the pistachio cheesecake and the chocolate cake. However, the desserts won’t keep me coming back. I’m sure I will come back eventually, but I’m still in search of a great pizza place.

Love this place! Everything I have tried has been extremely yummy! Their spinach artichoke dip is phenomenal! The Italian deli sandwich and the chicken alfredo slice of pizza is a must have! 2 thumbs up!

We were here yesterday and the food was good, my bf got lasagna and I just got a slice of pizza. My daughter liked the calamari. The service was not good. Our waitress was kind of rude and she asked my bf if he wanted his garlic bread for the lasagna but didn’t mention it cost extra, she was slow to check back and they were not busy. I’d try it again just with a different, nicer waitress.

I happen to travel around these parts a lot in central Texas. I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try a lot of food spots. July 1, 2015 I was again hunting for some food. I pulled up Unilocal and found russo’s. I read that some felt service was lacking. Folks who said that are spot on. You ever seen the old people on scooters in Wal-Mart? You ever get behind one on an aisle and they’re where you need to be? You could turn around and come on the backside of the aisle, pass a few folks, get pinned in by another old timer and still get out of that faster than you’ll get served. Anyway I got in and a nice young lady had me and another woman wait for a good 5 minutes. I finally got a seat and I recall there was only 1 server. He got me a menu and I had to wait another five minutes for water. I ended up getting a slice of mulberry. It was in line with the size slice you get at Brooklyn pie. The pizza wasn’t bad and definitely put my hunger to rest. You get what you pay for right and sometimes more. Slow service aside the place isn’t that bad. Give them a try and you might like it.

This is one of those places that is so good I’m so mad that I’ve put it off for months since it’s so close to me. First of all, the dining area alone is lovely and classy… I was thinking this was just a little pizza joint but it’s actually a really nice restaurant with really great Italian food… Not just pizza! There are ALL kinds of amazing sounding foods from their apps to their dishes(pizza, pasta, salad and more). They first gave us some bread and olive oil which was good. I ordered only a slice of cheese pizza which was HUGE and filled me up(FYI, their pizzas are MASSIVE and the large is literally the size of a table so keep that in mind if you come with a group). I had 2 glasses of the Malbec wine, which was GREAT. Our server was really nice and upon walking out I lingered by the desserts, but I was just too full to eat anything else! … Next time ;-)

This is more a 3.5 review. Russo’s New York Pizzeria, like many I’ve encountered outside of NY they aren’t even in New York, but that’s okay the pizza just has to be a close to a NY tasting pizza as possible right? The value is excellent you get a giant slice for about $ 5. The flavor is above average it definitely get the job done. I had great service from my server Delaney She made small talk, checked in make sure I was doing okay. I would give Russo’s another visit. The pizza was good value and I had excellent service. BTW notice they have this really really huge size pizza pie available for those interested.

Meh. The cannoli was the only saving grace. I had a Canadian bacon, pineapple and red onion calzone. I have no clue what the bad taste was but I swallowed down only a few bites before I decided it was done for. Yuck. Cannoli was bomb. So… get that. Nothing about this place or their food screams New York so try not to have any of those expectations because they will fail you. It all seemed to be fru-fru-drinks and chain food menu items. It was fun watching the guys behind the bar making the pizzas and the employees seemed friendly enough but the bartenders and wait staff didn’t seem to be as knowledgeable as I had hoped. I don’t think I’d ever choose to come back here unless somebody begged for it. Bleh.

Well the name in itself is misleading… this is not brick oven pizza. Rather it’s a regular oven surrounded by bricks. Seems to still do rather well. We got mozarella sticks which I enjoyed along with their house marinara. The tomato and cucumber salad was good with lots of feta. The pizza was a let down. It was a giant sized slice no doubt but there wasn’t enough sauce and the crust was a little mushy. This is especially bad for the slice we had with meat on it. They didn’t bake it long enough and it was mushy. Their desserts looked good though as well as the pasta. It is a nice space, we had good service and would probably be back. But it’s not really NY style.

Being new to the Pflugerville area, the husband, my friend Shane and I ventured out for dinner after a day of working on the house. We had stumbled across this place once before around 7 pm on a Friday and there was a 30 minute wait — which was also true for the Chili’s and the mexican food place in the same area. Since leaving that night to get food somewhere else with a shorter wait, this place had been on my mind. This time we went on Friday night around 9 pm. We were seated immediately — however it looked like they had another super busy Friday night prior to our arrival — so plan accordingly. Those people who waited 30 minutes for a table at Chili’s instead of this place are crazy!!! The pizza here is so good! The waiter was very polite, attentive and quick. After ordering, he brought us bread, made out of the pizza dough, to snack on. Pro tip: dip in the oil with the herbs facing up, otherwise your herbs will wind up in the oil and not on your bread. The three of us split the Prosciutto pizza. None of us realized that we were ordering a pizza without sauce and honestly, there were so many yummy warm tomatoes on the pizza, only one of us noticed that there was no sauce when we were eating it. The fresh basil really complimented the pizza. The prosciutto was thickly sliced, which was super tasty, however there was not much meat on the pizza. The husband and I wound up ripping up the one slice of meat or so that was on each slice and spreading it around to even out the flavor. It made me wish that the meat was sliced thinner and spread around more evenly. That being said, I’d still totally order this again! When we walked in, Shane and I fell in love with the desserts on display. Here’s where they lost a star. I’ve had a ton of NY cheesecake — in NY.(Junior’s Cherry Cheesecake is my happy place.) I’ve had wonderful cheesecake shipped in from NY in Austin. This place advertises NY cheesecake — however, that is not what this is. Is it good? Sure. Is it NY — not at all! The cheesecake is too loose, the taste is off and the crust is what sits a mile high. Overall — we’ll definitely be back but next time, I want to try a canoli.
