Came here on the recommendation of a friend because he loved the Garlic bread. Unfortunately, this place failed to deliver on many levels. There is ample parking, it’s located in a strip mall area in the corner and there isn’t a lot going on there so you are bound to get a parking spot. They have awesome sounding lunch specials that rotate daily. My mom got the ravioli special that came with a salad and I ordered the lasagna on the recommendation of the server. The salad I believe was old lettuce, because my mother got sick after we ate here, and we shared everything except for the salad. The pastas weren’t anything special. They both tasted like it had been pre-made or frozen and just heated up. The bread wasn’t anything special either. The price was very cheap but you get what you pay for her. The quality of the food isn’t there. Our server was extremely nice and friendly and attentive for being lunch, this is the sole reason why I’m giving this place a 2 star, for the service and employees, not for the food. I however won’t be coming back though, there wasn’t much leaving me wanting to return.

Great Italian food. Those who complained about the food do not know real Italian food. It’s not always spicy. Had the spaghetti with basil, garlic & olive oil… cooked perfect! My husband had the sausage & pepper Parmesan sub… Sauce was great! Loved the sausage. Not overly spicy. So many Italian restaurants are more Southern Italian/Sicilian… Where they use lots of red pepper flakes. I come from a northern Italian family & we do not eat that, so I thought this was great. Will definitely be back.

Baris has been a real gem for my wife and I after moving to Pflugerville two years ago. Some nights we do that thing where we say, «There’s nothing at home to eat. Wanna go out?» Then we sit in the driveway for a few minutes debating the pros and cons of various places before we inevitably decided that we’re going to Baris. Here’s the thing. It is consistently delicious food with portions large enough that we can take some home for lunch or dinner the next night. The staff is alway extraordinarily friendly and upbeat, and no matter when we go, we never have to wait for a table. What to get: –Fried Ravioli –Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo –Chicken Piccata –The Bread! This is not fancy cuisine, but its a really great place to go eat a really good meal when you’re tired and hungry. Then you don’t feel so tired and hungry anymore.

Tried them again. The food was great, the rolls were spot on, those amazing yeast type rolls. The service was amazing. I am eating crow, but it is good with these rolls.

I’m new to town and pizza is important to us! lol So far we have done 1 dine-in and 1 take-out. The pizza and service is good, but I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s outstanding. I definitely prefer their regular pizza over the deep dish. I will likely be returning and ordering it again! I would pass on the bread, garlic bread stuff though I’ve had better at chain pizza places with that.

I returned for a visit a few weeks ago after eight plus years of not eating here(moved from the area)…and it’s even better than I remembered. The service is great, the pricing is fantastic, the bread is truly to die for, and the quality is unmatched. Will definitely be returning again soon!

I’ve been here a handful of times but have yet to write a review because I kept giving them more chances to step up their act. I’ve ordered the manicotti and baked ziti in the past– both were boring, lacking flavor. Bottom line, their food just isn’t that good-period. The pizza I ordered tastes almost exactly like Austins Pizza which in my opinion is mediocre. I had to put tons of Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and red pepper flakes to jazz it up & give it flavor. I will say that at least the veggies were fresh. We also had the pasta sampler with cannelloni, lasagna and manicotti. It was decent but not great. The sauce wasn’t much better than from the jar really. I won’t be returning.

I wasn’t very impressed. My dish wasn’t that great. The service wasn’t that good. I just didn’t get a good vibe for the place. I don’t plan on visiting this place again.

just dropped in today at 4pm expecting some good fresh«homemade» pasta very hungry. looking forward to it from all the great reviews. WHAT?! you have all got to be kidding me! started with a salad. should’ve expected it’s mostly just iceberg lettuce, but that’s OK, at least the ranch dressing was good. Fresh Pasta? yep, tasted like it was fresh out of the box. Honestly, i’ve had way better pasta from the big chain restaurants.(which I am not at all a fan of) I absolutely do not think this is fresh homemade pasta. but I sure was looking forward to the garlic rolls everybody raved about. again WHAT?! it probably was«ooey’ gooey» at one time. But ours tasted like it had been sitting out on the counter since yesterday or at least had been reheated from days past. it was so stale and just even smelled stale but it was still soft!!! now that’s an amazing feat! if that’s the pasta and garlic rolls everybody is praising then I absolutely have no sense of taste at all. prices are moderate but not cheap. I did not think portions were large, but suitable. but hey, let’s move on to desert. Tiramisu is always awesome right? well I thought so too. but ours had apparently been frozen(I didn’t know restaurants froze these but I’m not a chef) and was now in semi thawing stage and tasted somewhat freezer burnt. obviously homemade too. like probably in some ones’ home factory in New Jersey several months ago. i’m so sorry really wanted to like this place. we love ‘mom-and-pop’ shops, love off the beaten path, ‘hole in the wall’ places. but I have to say people, I love pasta, I’m a tolerant foodie, I just expect above ‘just barely edible’ food from all rest restaurants. this was just barely average. on a good note the service was friendly and efficient. though we were only 1 of 2 –3 tables in the restaurant at 4:30PM and several patrons picking up to go orders. I sincerely hate giving negative reviews. but man I just can’t let this one go. especially since it was a rare night out lately for my wife and I. and we passed up many wonderful restaurants that we adore(and several on our ‘to try’ list) on our way back from downtown to dine at this, one of our local places. I do sincerely wish the best of luck to the owners and management and staff at this restaurant. and to the many patrons who enjoy this place, good on you man that you found a place to enjoy! but for me and mine just can’t do it ever again.

We started with the antipasto salad and rolls. Both were great. We split a double pepperoni pizza which was delicious. I had the chicken parmigiana with pasta with meat sauce and it was perfect. My wife enjoyed her eggplant parmigiana too. I would definitely recommend this place.

We have been looking for a quick and casual local Italian place for awhile. We are from up north and places like this are a dime a dozen, but they are a little bit harder to come by down here. Food was surprisingly good! The prices were pretty much $ 10.00 or less. Good casual and quick dining.

Very good quaint place. We wanted a local place that wasn’t a franchise. The pizza was great and the rolls were a bonus. Nice old NYC italian décor.

Service was fast. It was 8pm on a Wednesday night so I did not expect anything less. The lasagna looks good but was lacking in sustenance. The top is a thick sheet layer of cheese. I took off the cheese«comforter» after one bite because all I tasted was cheese and ricotta. Once the layer of cheese is off, you will be disappointed to find barely any noodles and meat. The lasagna bowl is mostly cheese and A LOT of sauce. I came here to fix my intense craving for lasagna and was disappointed. The meal itself was tasty, just lacking in all the main ingredients: beef, pasta and an equal quantity of sauce and cheese. If you like to eat baked cheese and sauce, this is the lasagna for you. One garlic bread roll was given. The bread had a very good texture and it was flavorful. The buffalo wings were standard wings. Nothing special. A bit salty, but edible. They had a nice crunch to them which made up for the salt. I definitely needed the ranch it came with. I won’t be returning, but it was an okay meal for me to fix my lasagna itch.

It just keeps getting worse! I’ve loved this place forever, been a regular since I attended high school at Pflugerville High School the unfortunate part is I really love the food but the staff is just awful. Today we ordered the lunch special with alfredo, it came out the wrong way first with the original sauce sent it back then it came out not baked and the dinner portion 3rd time is the charm right? Finally after she asked again so I repeated«the tortellini special with alfredo sauce instead of the red sauce» she finally got it right but surely an hour later we were fed up. No one even came to apologize owner, manager, supervisor, nothing. I’m all for local business because I like to support my neighbors but they don’t seem to mind us or care so why should we. I guess we will just head back to the Olive garden.

I was sent to Austin on church business. Somebody has to clean this mess up, so it might as well be me. Unfortunately my wife Peggy wasn’t able to join me on this trip so I was solo. Anyway, Goodfellas was on TV and it gave me a craving for Italian food. I did a search and found Bari’s. It was close to the hotel, so I called in an order of baked ziti and fried cheese. Lord am I glad I chose to bring this to my hotel. I forgot what cheese does to me on a normal day, much less when it’s fried. Fuhgettaboutit! The devil’s thunder roared in my guts with such authority I was confessing to sins I didn’t commit! I spent so much time casting out the cheese demon that I missed some of the movie. I went in when the Billy Bats was beaten and came back when that girl told Henry she wasn’t going to fly without her lucky hat. I would have turned state’s witness if I knew it would have saved me from the punishment I received. The food was good. I recommend it!

I hadn’t found a place in Austin yet with decent spaghetti UNTILNOW! I HATE the ‘big popular’ chain places and just wanted good sauce and good bread. I mean — isn’t that what everyone wants with their pasta??? My search is over — Baris is AWESOME! I had the spaghetti with sausage(a whopping 6.50!) and it was delicious. Savory sauce with sprigs of REAL parsley and basil. Bite sized sausage with FLAVOR. Al Dente pasta. No starchy mushy mess. Honestly — BEST spaghetti I have had since moving to Texas in 2009! The bread is actually soft lightly buttered garlic rolls. Hot and tender. It’s hard to eat just one. Or two. Or a plate of 12! Absolutely delicious and perfect for dipping in your sauce. I dined here with 7 other people and our meals varied from pasta dishes to soups and salads. Not much talking going on — even in a group — as everyone just dug in and enjoyed! I will DEFINITELY be back. OFTEN! Casual dining. Wear your jeans. Skip the belt unless you can let it out a notch when you leave. Portion size is good. Plenty to eat and for for me — this time– no room for dessert. Next time I will box up half and try a Cannoli.

I’m giving it 5 stars due to the excellent service, food and very cute little family Italian place. This is right around the corner from me and I kept meaning to stop here so I’m glad I did! The server was so nice and gave us a ton of suggestions on wine and food… I had a glass of red wine(can’t remember the name — it was the long complicated one ;) and the fettuccine alfredo. It was very good! I heard the pizza is also good too so I will be back. It was inexpensive also and it looks like they have some good lunch specials. ps. The garlic rolls were delicious too!

Thanks to Unilocal! I’ve always heard about this place. Finally decided to try it out. I got to go chicken piccata my fav dish at any Italian place. The capers were freaking huge, love capers and this dish had the right amount! Chicken was not what I was thinking, it didn’t seem to be breaded. I liked it a lot like this. It’s so close to home so this is another fav.
