I’m not sure reservations matter here. We had a reservation and still waited 40 minutes for our table. The place is very crowded with people on top of you while you try to eat. So not very comfortable. Staff is friendly and the food is fantastic so you have to be willing to endure the long wait and overcrowded strip mall if you want the great food.

Very friendly service. Tasty food. The place was very busy, and the atmosphere was cozy. Wide-variety of food on the menu. The complimentary bread was a nice touch.

Incredibly delicious entrees across the board, moderate prices, atmosphere molto Italiano, every visit has left us totally enthralled(and filled!). Especially tasteful for seafood lovers is the salmon and prawn dishes which are cooked with just the right amount of wine, garlic, lemon, etc., which the chef(s) broil precisely to the degree that all arrive hot and juicy, never overcooked! Service is friendly and entirely attentive in every detail, and at all times you feel especially accommodated. The rating of «loud» is not intrusive but are the sounds of diners who are regulars and entirely enjoying themselves in close quarters.

This place always delivers. My favorite Italian food in Petaluma. The bruschetta with pesto is awesome and the homemade pasta is to die for. Last time I had the lasagna. It was melt in your mouth delicious. I’ve been coming here for 15 years and tried a lot of things. Never disappointed. Don’t miss the terra misu for desert. Plus they always have a free entrée coupon. Very reasonable. I can’t wait to go back!

We had the best dinner here that we have had in years. Everything was delicious and very, very fresh. The bruschetta was perfect, the filet of sole with mashed potatoes and vegetables was to die for and the tomato heirloom salad was simply delicious. A true Mom and Pop restaurant with the owners attending to every detail. They even brought us a free port for dessert. To think we have lived here for eighteen years and never tried this fabulous restaurant. I can only say it is now our new favorite place.

Call me selfish but I almost don’t want to review this place BECAUSEITISSOGOOD and I want to be able to get a table! This is the real deal people. Amazing and AUTHENTIC Italian cuisine. From beginning to end… focaccia bread, appetizers, entrees, desserts. Omg. YUM. With fantastic service to match! It’s usually packed and a reservation is recommended.

Linguini with clams is just so incredibly good! Also really recommend their carbonara and risottos. It’s all delicious. Tonight we also started out with the bruschetta and some antipasti of prosciutto, salami, roasted vegetables and mozarella. Pair your meal with a bottle of wine recommended by Hector and you’re good to go. Love it here. Never a bad meal, always made to feel like family.

My husband and I live on the other side of town [Petaluma] and we don’t often go to the shopping center that the Café Giostra is in. Well today we were there, and impulsively stopped by for a late lunch. What a fantastic surprise!!! I’m of Italian decent, so I tend to be very, very picky when it comes to Italian food. Our lunch was divine… the service supberb… and we will drive across town in a heartbeat to visit this lovely little café again. I highly recommend that you give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Showed up without a reservation since we were staying at the hotel across the street. Staff was completely accommodating and feed my family of 5 an outstanding dinner. My daughter scarfed the handmade lasagna down in seconds it was so good. Desert was just as amazing. Highly recommend

My mom has been here several times for lunch meetings and decided to go out for a family dinner. We made same day reservations for 7:45pm on a Saturday night. We got to the restaurant and it was packed! The restaurant itself is kind of small, but it is family owned. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes after our reservation time but after we got seated, one of the owners came up to us to say thank you for waiting and gave us a complimentary dessert at the end of our dinner. The service was excellent and they were very attentive to us — refilled our drinks and refilled our bread. I ordered bruschetta and my step dad ordered the caesar salad as appetizers. The bruschetta was delicious but I opted out of the pesto sauce. It also has mozzarella cheese on it. For dinner I ordered the capellini al pomodoro topped with parmesan cheese. My parents ordered the penne and the risotto special with scallops. My boyfriend ordered the fettuccine alfredo, he said it was good, but very rich. We finished our meal with a tiramisu. It was a perfect meal and the service was outstanding and definitely worth the wait!

Ordered takeout tonight. We ordered Gnocchi, lasagna, Caesar salad, and Tiramisu. All were amazing especially the lasagna! I would have given 5 stars, but the restaurant refused to give us ½ Alfredo & ½ marinara sauce on the gnocchi. I didn’t mind paying extra. I just like creamy tomato sauce. It was somewhat of a let down, but I will go back for the lasagna for sure!

This place does it for us again. We consider this the best Italian restaurant in Petaluma. The meal confirms it. We came to celebrate our 7th year anniversary. During the afternoon we went to OSH hardware & saw that Giostra was open Memorial Day. I planted the seed & before you know it we’ve booked a 7:45pm reservation. The waitress greets us, she was very attentive. Bread & water is brought to the table. She admits that the restaurant needs to update their wine list. We find a good Louie Martini Cabernet Sauvignon sonoma on the menu. I’ve been pineing for the carpaccio from the get go, thin slivers of beef, Dijon mustard, Slivers of Parmesan, capers & olive oil. Heaven for a carnivor like myself. We move on to my honeys fettuccini with salmon & peas they graciously substitute the heavy cream sauce with a marinara. Hey we just finished working out at active sports club, down the road. Despite me yearning for the cream sauce I go for the angel hair pasta with a plethora of seafood. The broth is tomatoey delicious, enough seafood for two, I don’t bother sharing. I gobble it down. Prior to consuming a gentleman comes by & uses his muscles & grated mounds of Parmesan. I become guilty after seeing others taking leftovers home. Not me nor my honey. We finish off with my other favorite limoncello sorbet that is tart & sweet at the same time. Oh least I forget, a couple of ports to complete the meal were sent to the table. I notice the owners are not present, I’m told they are in Paris. Stay another week, your staff is doing wonders on their own.
