I was coming in from Houston, TX looking for a place close to where I would be dinning and that offered delivery. I called to let them know and was greeted by Katrina who was very helpful. I explained to her that I wanted a small cake for myself and my party of 5 and that I would be eloping and needed a small wedding cake. She instantly emailed me pictures and followed up to make sure I received them. Once I told her what I wanted in my small wedding cake the next day the owner called me back to confirm my request. I arrived to Pensacola 2 days prior to my wedding date to pay for the cake and see the place it was coming from. I was greeted by the owner who was super friendly and confirmed with me again my request. Long story short… This was by far the best cake I HAVEEVERHAD! It looked just like I had requested if not better. It by far exceeded my expectations. I only wish this place was in Houston. The cake was lite and fluffy and just right!!!

My complaint is with Tuan and not his products. He was previously doing business as Sweet Things on Mobile Hwy when I went to him to have a wedding cake estimated. He quoted me $ 700 and asked that I pay a $ 250 deposit. Being as he was a relative of my mother’s friend [who are no longer friends by this I might add] we thought we could trust him so I made half the payment of the cake in good faith. My fiancée and I changed the wedding date and he said he would just move my cake to the next date, only later to find out from the news that Tuan was closing his Sweet Things due to the slow economy. The last day of business I was able to run up there trying to talk to him about my cake. Was he still going to be able to make my cake or would I get my money back? He said he couldn’t pay my money back because $ 350 was not in his pocket to give me, nor did he have to because it was a deposit for a cake. After I was crying he reluctantly said he could still make cakes from his home and that he would. So in all sensibility I asked for his cell phone so I could call him to let him know when to proceed making the cake. He refused claiming that he doesn’t even have enough money for a cell phone, which I knew was wrong because I know people that know him personally and said to email him. I am highly disappointed that a small business owner would treat his customers’ like that. I feel that Tuan knows he is in the wrong because he friend requested me on facebook so I wrote him a message November 6, 2011 Hey! Do you remember me from when I put down a deposit for our wedding cake? I came to your shop the day it was closing and asked for the money back but you said you couldn’t do that but you would make me a cake instead. Is that offer still valid? I never received a reply and I was unable to view his page anymore, so I assume he just blocked me. I constantly checked to see if he applies for the BBB so that I can file a complain on Tuan’s Cake Galley(DBA Sweet Things) I have even personally delivered letters to him requesting he compensate me and was pushed out of the store. I really wish I could say that Tuan is a great owner and does right by his customers, but I honestly cannot. I won’t deny that anything he bakes isn’t good, because it is. His work his great, his ethics however don’t balance it out and on my scale I rather do business and send referrals to a business that I know will treat their customers right.

This place is to die for! All of the desserts that I have had from here were the best pieces of baked goodness I have ever had. There isn’t a lot of goodies on the show case, but I am sure that you will enjoy any thing that they do have for sale. I have had the Chocolate Petafour, Almond Petafour, PB Bombe, and Raspberry French Macarons. French Macarons need to be pre-ordered by the dozen. Well worth it I promise.

I was in town visiting from NY and had to pick up a cake for my mothers 50th birthday party. Ordered a 2 layer cake with choclate mousse filling and chocolate covered strawberries on top. The butter cream frosting was great, but definitely give it some time to warm up after you take it out of the firdge or it may be too hard to really enjoy, though it will still melt in your mouth. Very good cake and I woul definitely reccommend this place to others searching for a gourmet cake. Paid 125 for a a 10″ and 8″ 2 layer cake. There individual desserts looked amasing as well!

Oh wow, where to begin? There’s not enough memory in your computer to store all the great things I could say about Cake Gallery. I double-dog-dare you to find anything in the Pensacola area that comes even close to the caliber of product this guy produces. There is nothing else even sort-of close. Zero. If you did not get it from Cake Gallery then you’ve been ripped off. The coconut macaroons are so good they should be a controlled substance! An added benefit that at one time was considered standard: Individual service. When you are dealing with Tuan, you are dealing directly with the owner and CEO of the company. Cake Gallery is not a chain or franchise. It is not an established business that was bought out from someone else. It is not owned by some investor a thousand miles away who has never even seen the place and hired a disinterested manager to run the joint. Tuan designed and built Cake Gallery from an empty storefront. He is there every day and personally supervises the entire process, right down to the last grain of sugar. No product sees the front of the shop without his approval, and his standards are very, very, high. Try getting that kind of concern at the Big Huge Bakeshop. I live in Illinois but travel to Pensacola a lot. I have been a fan of Tuan since the Sweet Things days. Man, you Florida folks are so dang lucky to have him! And shame shame on Unilocal because they will let me give him only 5 stars.

For those of us who were in mourning/withdrawal after the closing of Sweet Things on Mobile Hwy, it’s time to rejoice. Tuan has re-opened on Garden Street with a beautiful bakery featuring his stunning cakes, pastries and other sinful treats. Diabetics beware; this is not a safe place for you. For starters, the place is elegant, and it looks like it was lucked off Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The proof, however, is in the product, and Tuan delivers in a big way. Each pastry is perfectly decorated with impeccable attention to detail. There is a sizable selection of goodies available for takeout. Unlike his prior location, there are no table for having coffee and dessert in the store — yet. Plans are in the works to do this in the future. As far as savory lunch offerings, that is hopefully not far behind. Tuan does custom orders, and wedding cakes are one of his specialties. Stop in and grab a few pastries for a special treat. You’ll be hooked. Oh, this place does not play fair. They have samples of goodies on a cake plate and they encourage you to have some. Try to stop at just one piece. I dare you.
