Waited forever — they don’t actually have the preferred system down pat here. Put a board up!!! Don’t make preferred wait at All. That’s why I use Avis– so I can fly in and know I can make my meeting in time.

We had a great experience with Avis. The gentleman who assisted us was extremely friendly and quick in processing our request. The car was in great condition and easy to access from the airport. Price was right as well. This was an extreme opposite of our experience at Hertz last year when we were first given an old mini van with 4 bald tires– when we refused it, they attempted to give us another van that had clearly been in an accident– dented bumper and side walls and again bald tires. The 3rd one was so smoky inside, but at least there did not appear to be any safety issue except the second hand smoke exposure.

I’m a frequent traveler and an Avis Preferred Member so my experience may be different than a non-frequent renter. The cars are clean and well maintained, the staff courteous and the prices fair. Rented a compact car for 2 days for under $ 70 and got a complimentary upgrade to a Prius. Extended my trip and rental to enjoy the awesome gas mileage. I’ve seen customers irate at the counter but haven’t personally experienced any issues.

Someone called me from Avis, said they would send me a voucher for my next rental in the mail. Never came… at this point I find it comical.
