This was a classic CPO Club in the early«80’s» when I was stationed there. Mama Nona was the bartender and greeter then and was still there when Jeannie and Satch visited in 1996 on our 20th wedding anniversary. Planning on visiting again next year, 2016, on our 40th. Hope we run into shipmates again as we did Bob Nadeau in 1996!

One of few traditional Navy Chief Petty Officers’ Clubs remaining in operation, Oceans should be a pilgrimage for every current and retired Navy Chief Petty Officer to pass through the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. Typically hospitable staff and interesting surroudings, featuring ships’ plaques from many hundreds of current and former Navy ships whose Chiefs gathered at the Club over the years over ice-cold beer,(often served in a «bucket» of ice), shaking the dice cup in games of «Ship, Captain, Crew,» timeless sea stories and incomparable Navy Chief Petty Officer fellowship.
