The combo of mustard, onions, tomato, and warm chili on a simple hot dog just blows my mind. I have to have this at least 2−4/year. I know it’s unhealthy and the chili might be questionable but it’s so yummy.
This location has a drive thru and it’s fairly quiet unlike the LA locations. Another big plus!

I had my first Tommy’s Original World Famous Hamburger here, with chili, and it was seriously great! Worthy of its fame.

Who doesn’t love a Tommy’s Burger? If you don’t, I’m sorry, but we can’t be friends.
The burger concoction with the tomato, cheese and chili is phenomenal, with a taste like no other, thanks to their use of XLNT chili. They also use XLNT for tamales, which smothered in chili and cheese is top-​notch!
The drive through is normally fast, and I haven’t ever had an order be incorrect. Do get extra napkins… a Tommy’s Burger is the sloppy joe of your dreams!

It is Tommy’s so you know what it is all about. The burgers are thinner than they used to be. The chili isn’t as think and meaty as it used to be. The cheese is more processed than it used to be. The fries are from a bag of frozen potatoes which is not the way it used to be. The service isn’t as good as it used to be.
All that being said, it is better than almost all the other fast food burgers. Tommy ranks just below In-​n-​Out for tasty fast food burgers. If you want a burger, you can’t go wrong with Tommy’s.

I ate dinner at Tommy’s Original World Famous Hamburgers in Pasadena, CA on 1÷5÷2016. I’ve been there several times before. My whole meal came to under $ 10.00. Plus, I took photos.

It’s Tommy’s so you know it’s amazing! The drive-​thru is super fast when I’m in the Pasadena area this is my go to spot. Chili fries and a Chili dog… you kinda need chili on everything.

Still the same old Tommy’s I remember. Love their cheeseburgers, a bit messy but worth the mess. Great for lunch because there drive-​thru was pretty much empty around noon.

Food is decent, plenty of sausage options, but limited toppings and serving styles. Also, self-​serve style means waiting in line once you’re inside. Good choice of beer at the bar, but again, usually quicker to line up at the bar than to wait for service.

Conveniently located near both Pasadena City College and the freeway, this place is great for when those days of comfort food are needed (and when in a rush).
I always debate between the cheeseburger with chili and the chili cheese dog. Looks aside, they both taste pretty awesome and you’ll find yourself asking if just one was enough.
Dine in or use the drive thru, but parking as ample. Also, I almost never see a line at this location so if you’re in a rush looks like things may work in your favor.
They take cash and credit and are pretty friendly with service and prompt with your order. I’ll be back again.

Great place to make a stop to refuel the body and unload some bio-​mass. (hee hee hee…)
I passed by a Micky D’s early today, but the parking lot was tiny! So I’m happy to run into this Tommy’s location where there is plentiful parking to go in and out.
I had a really close call when ordering the breakfast sandwich. The nice girl behind the counter must be new because she forgot about the English Muffin bun on my order. Good thing I checked my bag before leaving the lot, otherwise I would have been really disappointed eating something I didn’t order. I had to knock the rating down a star for not getting my order right. Other than that I’m a happy camper and ready to resume the day :-)
Food = good (as expected)
Seating area = very clean
Service = friendly
Restroom = clean

WHY! That’s the question that beckons to be asked. I was there on a Saturday morning with plans to try Dave’s fried chicken, but unfortunately, Dave wasn’t opened, yet. So, out of sheer ignorance, curiosity, and hunger; I ventured across the street to sample Tommy’s.
I ordered the Double Chili Cheese Burger and the Chili Fries Combo. The burger was mediocre and the chili really sucked! I think Staggs and Hormel’s canned chili from your local supermarket actually taste better and made with better ingredients than Tommy’s. Their chili was goopy, tasteless, and contained too much thickener. Worst, they didn’t even have special boxes for their chili burgers and chili fries; my to-​go order was wrapped in that parchment paper used by burger joints. When unwrapping the burger and fries, most of the chili from the burger had oozed out and smeared all over. The chili fries faired no better. Apparently, their marketing and products development department are composed of idiots and morons. How can wrapping chili fries like a submarine sandwich or hoagie be acceptable? To think, they could not afford those special boxes used by places like McDonalds, Burger Kings, and other fast-​food restaurants for their featured burgers and specialty fries. Obviously, they do not care about their image. After all, they’ve been in business for over 65 years. Who’s the wiser, right?
Another bone I have to pick are their pickled chilies; it is the same type found in many Ma & Pa burger places, and often, unlimited for their patrons. Tommy’s had the pickled chilies behind the counter and the server asked if I want «a lot» or «a little». I asked for «a lot» just to see what their definition of «a lot» was. Sadly, I was only given 6 pieces. Surprisingly, they even have small jars of these pickled chilies for patrons to buy relabeled as though it was their proprietary pickled chili recipe. These pickled chilies are available in gallon jugs, jars, and cans from Smart & Final and other food warehouses. I have to admit that this was the first time where I saw a restaurant repackaging bulk pickled chilies and selling them under their own label.
Never again!

You can never really trust this Tommy’s with your order, even when you don’t modify it much. All I asked was for a #2, no tomato, no chilies (as in peppers)… chick took it as no chili. Who goes to Tommy’s and doesn’t get chili??? Also asked for mustard and side of onions.
Get home, no mustard, no onions, and plain hamburger. I guess it’s my fault for not checking the bag before I pulled away, but seriously, thus is not the first time they have screwed up my order. I miss the Tommy’s in Rowland, they are so much more dependable, but so far away.

We are a huge Tommy’s fan. My boys, husband, and I, all love Tommy’s Burger. Doesn’t matter the location, they all taste the same. They all have the same amazing chili. This location is close to my moms house. Took her there for the 1^st time. She too, loved it.
I didn’t care much for the cleanliness of this location. But then again, are there any fast food, burger joins with super clean table and floors? I just assumed, the people that sat there previous to us, had a few kids. ;) yeah… that’s it. Lets blame it on the children.

This is the best chilie cheese burger and cheese frie combo I have ever had. Price is great for how much you get could serve two for the small appetite.

I fell in love with the original Tommy’s burgers over in Rampart as a kid. When I attended USC, many a late night found us at Tommy’s grubbing on messy chili burgers and downing those small chiles like they were going extinct.
Once the restaurant franchised and spread out all over a SoCal, I thought it was doomed– after all, part of the charm is that the chili pots at the OG store haven’t been washed in 50 years– just keep adding ingredients and keep it hot. OK, I don’t know if that’s true, but I do know this: the Pasadena Tommy’s gets the job done.
My burger was pretty much just like the ones from LA! Missing a star because you can’t recreate the OG Tommy’s experience in a well lit fast food restaurant setting. Why not have the standing counters and paper towel dispensers?

Tommy’s World Famous for their Chili has locations throughout California, it’s all pretty much the same so you should know what to expect… with that said this review will be very short.
Breakfast Burrito —
I guess it’s a PORK thing but I prefer the Breakfast Sandwich, Burrito VS the Burgers. Egg, Sausage Patty, Chili lot’s of it… hash browns and cheese

One of my dad’s favorites, but not really one of mine.
I wouldn’t go out of my way for Tommy’s but I will say their fries and burgers are pretty good. I know how unhealthy their menu is, but sometime you gotta eat what you gotta eat. The fries are always crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they taste great with the chili. The single patty burger is really big, and it’s very flavorful. I really like eating it with some of those hot chili peppers they provide. Other than that I can’t really say much about the rest of the menu.
