I don’t recall exactly who helped me with my boots. It was kind of a team effort. I had SUCH a good experience buying boots in there. I won’t go into detail about WHY I decided to get boots from them, but will say that I was skiing on boots that I had purchased 8 years prior from Surefoot, in Park City. I went into Surefoot to make some minor adjustments and they insisted that I needed new boots to the point that I was very uncomfortable in their store. Bootworks was such a pleasant experience. They informed me that for all those years I was skiing in boots that were way too wide for my narrow foot. They gave me a visual of this with on their fitting tool. That explained a lot! Now I know why I’d never been happy with those boots from 8 years ago. They put me in the right boot and made the adjustments necessary. They even recommended that I keep my custom foot bed from that other place. The next day when I skied, I noticed that my very narrow heel was still coming up in the boot. They fixed it right up and off I went. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Every person in there was knowledgeable, patient and trustworthy. The prices were fair and the service is top notch. I highly suggest you go to Boot Works for boots, socks, etc. You won’t be sorry!!!

If you want a great custom boot fitting, this is the place to go. After asking about my skiing skills, measuring my feet dimensions, visually inspecting them(I have medium/wide feet with narrow heels and my pinkie toes flare out a little requiring a tight heel area but semi-wide forefoot), and asking about any issues that I was experiencing with my old boots, Ernie was able to select the best boots for my feet, customize the shell via heating and grinding, and create a custom insole. He patiently made adjustments until the boots perfectly fit my feet. I now have a great pair of boots that fit snuggly yet comfortably instead of my old boots that were very loose. A big thanks to Bootworks and Ernie!

Ernie and Matt did a fantastic job! I have oddly shaped feet very wide in the front, extra-narrow in the back. They were patient with the many adjustments we needed to make and the finished product is awesome. Matt, a special thank you to you for all your work. Best regards, Justin

This was the best experience I ever had getting ski boots. I wish I had done this many years ago instead of suffering. The service is incredible and the fit is what makes this place the only place to go in Park city. Ernie and Matt were fabulous The new technology is worth the price.

These guys are the best! I went in with boots I didn’t even buy there and they helped me out. I ended up going in about 4 times until I figured out what was wrong, but each time I went in they were super friendly! Highly recommend these guys for anyone looking to buy custom ski boots or need help modifying their boots.

I was struggling with my boots and brought them into the shop. The technician quickly identified the issue and blew out the shell around the toe, resolving the issue. Very good service. And no charge. And I didn’t even by the boots there! Amazing.

I can’t say enough about these guys here at bootworks. Matt and John were fantastic! Very knowledgeable about their product, great customer service, very personable and they made you feel comfortable about asking questions. I was with a guy that went downstairs to another boot shop, however, deciding to come back up to bootworks to buy… it just happen to be at closing time. Ha, I thought oh no, they are closing, but Matt sucked it up and was very pleasant and patient. Also as I was getting my boots, there were three other people popping their head in after a day of skiing to say how much they loved their boots! Wow for them to make the effort to come back in the store must mean they really made a difference! I can’t wait to get on these boots and cruise the slopes. One thing for sure, if I have any problems with them, the guys said I can come back… now that’s a good feeling! I would highly recommend bootworks if you are looking for a custom fit pair of ski boots!

Have never had such great service! These guys really know their stuff and were able to fix the source of my boot pain within half an hour. Even when I suggested I might need new boots they let me know that it wasn’t necessary and never tried to upsell me. Would recommend this place so much!

Frequent Unilocaler, first time reviewer… I normally just like to read what everyone else has to say because I am generally too lazy to form an opinion of my own and then inform others of it so to actually sit down and write something out means this place stood out enough for me to want to share my experience. I came into Bootworks in desperate need of some TLC for my sore feet after skiing a couple of days in some new Dalbello Krypton Pros. As bright and shiny as those puppies were on the outside, on the inside my foot was going thru the nine circles of hell. After going to two separate boot fitters in two separate ski areas in two separate states and leaving in each instance with no relief I was ready to leave alpine skiing and their uncomfortable boots altogether for my shiny new and always loving mistress tele skiing and her magical boots made of fluffy bedroom slippers. Well it’s a good thing I came across Matt and Bootworks because I was about to make the biggest mistake ever and commit to an exclusive relationship to tele. Phew. That was close. I came in and explained all of the problems I was having with my Krypton’s — mainly a numb forefoot and instep in both feet but worse on the left foot(imagine not being able to feel your foot at all and trying to turn a ski — doesn’t work so well). Matt listened and asked great questions to understand the real issues that were going on. After shell sizing me and assessing the situation he noted that the cuff of the boot along the inside of my ankle and navicular bone was too narrow for my foot and was restricting blood flow to my feet causing the numbness. Unfortunately, the construction of the 3 piece Krypton made it difficult to impossible to effectively«fix» the issue so we had to switch me out of the Krypton’s into something different. He didn’t necessarily want to switch me out of a brand new pair of boots with less than 8 hours of skiing on them, but he really felt there wasn’t anything that could be done to make it better for me. And, I believed him, which brings me to my next point… His approach to the problem is important for three main reasons: One, Matt wasn’t trying to sell me on a new boot or something different. He was trying to make sure I had the best boot for my foot. He was blunt and straight with the situation and I appreciated that. And I firmly believe that if I had asked to «fix» the existing boots he would have made every effort to do what he could. In the end I trusted in his expertise and that was the right call to make. Two, Matt looked past the pain point and symptom to actually diagnose what was causing the problem… while the problem manifested itself in numb toes and forefeet, it didn’t actually have anything to do with the toe box or forefoot of the boots. Rather it was the cuff of the boot that was the real culprit(It’s worth noting that every other shop focused only on solving for the pain point in the place the pain was happening. And three, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that, yes kids, you also get an anatomy lesson from the pros at Bootworks because I’ll be damned if I knew what the hell a navicular bone was prior to going to Bootworks. Not only did my feet get some lovin my brain got smarter so my noggin was more than just a hat rack. Think about that next time you are in need of some new boots… really think about it. But I digress, back to the boots. At this point Matt did some more measurements and got me into some nice new Lange’s because not only do I apparently have a natural«Lange foot» but he could also manipulate the cuff to give me the breathing room I so desperately needed to keep the blood flowing to my 10 toes and forefoot. In simpler terms, no more numb feet and nine circles of hell. Matt got me fitted on some proper footbeds, got me aligned, and sent me on my way in some shiny new kicks. And, much to my delight, after the previous day in which I was only able to finish three and a halfs runs because I was in boot purgatory, today I skied all day with nary a concern. The boots fit like a glove… or a sock… or insert witty comment here. It was like my feet were floating on a cloud of unicorns and rainbows. It was that good. Seriously. Mind blown. So the moral of the story, before you get rid of your main gal(alpine skiing) for that shiny new piece on the side(tele skiing or whatever else you would rather be doing than being miserable in ill fitting ski boots) do yourself a favor and go in and see the Matt and boys at Bootworks to set you up straight. You won’t regret it. Thanks to Matt and Bootworks for getting me set-up properly so I can stop complaining about my sore and numb feet. My friends are thankful for this too… trust me. And as an aside, if you’re lucky, John might even give you some of his sandwich… but probably not. He’s pretty protective of his sandwiches. Especially when he is plotting an evil plan to try and sneak one into a Sundance film screening.

First time doing a review. Already wrote a tip. Within 3 minutes, 2 guys gave me the impression they were trying to take as much money from me as possible. Were going to charge me $ 40 just to check my cant angle, which only takes a minute or two. And tried to sell me their high end new boots, by denigrating the boots i had and by going on and on how great their boots were. All while im trying to tell them what my boot problem is. Got the very apparent impression, they were not interested in helping me, but rather helping themselves to my wallet. Maybe it was a bad day for them. But my first impression of them reeked.

Shad and Ernie are excellent boot fitters and salesmen. They carry only top products and they really know what they are doing. My feet are not easy to fit and they suggested a couple of choices and then spent 2 hours making the fit perfect. In a town that has a number of very good boot shops, Bootworks stands out as one of the very best.

I bought a «custom“fitted boot from bootworks late last season. I only had a half day to ski on them before returning to San Diego. They seemed really tight. I then researched ski boots and discorvered that Bootworks sold me a Ski boot Mondopoint size of 26.5 which equates to approx a 8.5US mens shoe size(conversion charts readily available online). I called Bootworks and he claimed that there is NO correlation between shoes size and Mondopoint. Well, I wear a mens size 9.5 to 10. He sold me 8.5 shoe size ski Boots. I called and he said to ship him the boots and he will«stretch» them. The shell size only increases in whole numbers. So how is he going to stretch a 26.6(8.5 mens) to a 9.5 mens without ay minimum going to a 27 ski boot size? I ended up buying new boots in Innsbruck Austria ski shop. I think they know what they are doing. I bought 27.5 mondopoint ski boots(9.5US mens). Alittle tight but I like them. The clerk in Austria ski shop said 26.5 size is «womens» size boots I recommend you do your research before buying new ski boots and don’t TRUST the«experts» at Bootworks. I allege they sold me what they had in stock at the time knowing I was not a local resident and leaving that day. .Of course I wrote a letter to Bootworks asking for some compensation, but have not heard back from them.
