I had my go to person but had to travel LA every time… tried many places out here and was never satisfied with the work done… the very first time i met vanessa, she immediately reminded me of the person i traveled to LA for… she’s takes her time and ensures each haircut is to perfection, very professional… highly recommend vanessa and her work!

Vanessa is my savior!!! I am 42 years old and had a college reunion coming up. I went to a salon a few weeks before the reunion and the woman chopped off all my hair! I was furious and started getting anxiety and couldn’t sleep! I know nothing about hair extensions, but knew that this might be the only thing to help. I found Vanessa on Unilocal and had no idea how amazing she was going to be! She spent so much time with me and gave me the lowdown on all the types of extensions that I could use. Once we made a decision she guided me through the whole process. She knows so much about hair and style. Most of all, she is super kind and really cares. I highly recommend Vanessa for anything because she is honest and very good at what she does. My hair looks great! I am thrilled with the result!

I have been going to Vanessa for 6 years now and she is absolutely amazing! I am really picky about my hair and once I find a hair stylist I never go anywhere else! I moved to the Bay Area from Colorado and was nervous about finding the right stylist. I decided to see Vanessa and I have been hooked ever since! In the past 6 years I have not seen any other stylist and I even do the 1 hour drive from SF to see her! Vanessa pays great attention to detail and is a fabulous listener. I have been a client of Vanessa’s for several years now. I had been living in the Bay area for almost 6 months and had tried several other highly rated salons and stylist but all were disappointingly over-​priced for the services I ended up receiving. One salon which I’ll leave unnamed, charged a $ 120 for what was barely a trim and I had even spoken with the stylist about this beforehand.
I was thrilled when I found Vanessa, she was the first stylist in the area to really work with me on getting my hair style back on the track I wanted it to be. I was in the process of growing out a very short inverted cut bob so the growing out period left me with awkward layers and took months. Vanessa was great and coached me through growing my hair out to the length and style I wanted. I greatly appreciate how honest and helpful she is. I’d bring in photos of a style or cut that I like and she is always realistic on whether or not my hair type and facial shape will work with the cut.
I always enjoy my appointments with her as she is sweet, down-​to-​earth and simply fun to work with. I followed Vanessa from her previous salon and am so happy to have finally found a stylist in the Bay that I can stick with!

I’ve been getting my hair styled from Vanessa for a number of years. She always knows what I want before I even know it, and she takes great care in making sure that I get exactly what I want when I ask for it. She often offers her opinion as to what I should do with my hair, in the most professional and friendly way possible. Always and without exception, her skills and knowledge prove to do wonders on my hair– which is usually a frizzy tangled curly mess. This was until Vanessa began doing Brazilian blowouts on my hair. She took her time and used enormous care each step of the way to ensure my happiness and comfort and a perfect end result. Besides the amazing quality of her hair designs, she makes me feel comfortable and welcome at the salon by always engaging in friendly conversation. Vanessa has done it all to my hair– color, cut, keratin, blowouts, all the way to formal hair designs and up-​dos. Each time, I’ve gotten compliments everywhere I go. Even if you don’t live in the Palo Alto area, I recommend driving that extra bit to see her. It’s proven more than worth it to me.

My husband has been going to Vanessa for nearly two years now. I am always impressed with the time she takes in giving him the best possible cut. Not only does it look good right after the cut — it grows out wonderfully and looks good right up to his next cut. Vanessa is a sweetheart, and I highly recommend her to anyone in the area.

Vanessa has been cutting my hair now for about three years. I followed her from her previous location and am never disappointed. When I was looking to change things up a few months ago she worked with me to find some new ideas for changes that I might like and worked with me until I found something that worked. I hadn’t changed my hair style for quite a while, so it speaks volumes that I trusted her enough to do so. She is a great person and able to schedule appointments around my busy work schedule.

I have now coming to Vanessa for two years since I moved to the Palo Alto area. I have had hair designers in other cities, but Vanessa distinguishes herself from those in her work. The next day when my coworkers see my haircut, they don’t just notice because my hair is shorter, but different. When I am interested in a certain style, Vanessa always takes the time to discuss it with me. Over the years she has certainly gained my trust and is willing to take risks to make me look more handsome and stylish. She is a professional in every sense of the word and has no problem with typical trouble spots such as calics and swirls. I recommend Vanessa to anyone I get the chance because I know she does a great job with my hair every time.

Vanessa recently left a salon to become an independent stylist, which made perfect sense to me. She’s obviously good enough to attract and retain her own client base. My hair has several perpetual trouble spots (e.g., a tendency to stand up in the back), and Vanessa took great care to tweak my style until they went away. I also kept changing my mind about details of my hair cut from one appointment to the next, and she always solicited and addressed my requests. I’m sad, though, because we’ve converged on a style that I really like, and now I’m moving to a new city. Good luck with your new studio, Vanessa!

I’ve gone to Vanessa for just about a year for my haircuts and this is the longest I can remember engaging the services of any one hair designer. Vanessa is talented and able to follow my directions and/​or take creative liberty, depending upon my mood. She is pleasant, accommodating, funny and kind. The shop in which she works now is across the street from a parking lot and couldn’t be easier to find. I recommend her!
