my mother let me borrow her VERY expensive Saint Laurent handbag and my luck… I totally scratched the front :(If it wasn’t for Off Ramp Leathers I would be dead… Paul and another man who were very nice helped me right away and I could not tell you where the mark is now… Such an amazing job and really good guys. Thank you Paul for literally saving my life :)

We have been using the services at Off Ramp for the last couple of years for various repairs, alterations and customization projects. We have been universally pleased with the work. Today I picked up a pair of jeans that my husband and I had dropped off to have a leather riding seat and side stripes added to. This is the first time we’ve had customer service issues here but I’d have to say that I have several with this interaction. When we took the jeans in, we also took a pair of leather pants with a tear at the back pocket in to cannibalize for this project. They told us it would be about a week until the pants would be ready. We never received a call to let us know they were ready. No big deal, just a courtesy. I dropped in today to pick up the jeans. They eventually found them and laid them on the counter. I inquired about my leather remnants. The counter guy seemed a little flustered that I would ask. Remember, this is a riding seat and stripes down the side seams. He showed me the cannibalized side seams sewn over the jeans’ seams and the beautifully finished crotch area which was the seat from the leather pants laid into the seat of the jeans, lined up on the inside seams. I was told that they normally discard small and odd shaped scraps. I would have expected to get the legs of the leather pants back. I said as much. I don’t know how labor is calculated but it felt a little pricey considering we brought in the leather and didn’t get any remnants of my lamb skin back. I’m sure we will return but I’m also sure that we will ask more questions and be more specific about our expectations.

Excellent vendor for leather products to include their beautiful Muir caps. I bought my Muir leather cap in 2006 and I’ve received so, so many compliments when I wear my cap! I need to get another one here soon!

Paul’s work is OUTSTANDING. He was recommended to me by several people. Paul make a custom pair of leather 501 pants for me. He fitted them to me and the pants are just beautiful. Great value and service. Can’t wait for the next thing to have Paul make.

I can only imagine what it’s like to be able to have a wonderful craftsmanship as a leather tailor. While I didn’t have the luxury of having Paul produce any leather goods for me, I did take a wonderful leather jacket I found at a thrift store and had him turn it into a Café Racer style jacket for my «chill» rides on the Ducati. He did a wonderful job of trimming the collar down to about 1″ and had it back to me in a week, for LESS than what he originally quoted me at. The jacket is exactly how I envisioned it, and is a wonderful addition to the many jackets I already have. Should I ever need more leather work done for my moto-riding, he’ll be approached with confidence. Thank you Paul!

Disclaimer, I’m a straight guy with no connections to the SF leather community. However, I have a favorite, 100 lb. Muay Thai banana bag that hangs from a tree in my backyard which inadvertantly got the D-ring torn off the bottom due to extensive use. It bummed me out. I spent weeks trying to get it repaired. I contacted all the local boxing gyms, leather and upholstery shops, other SoMa leather shops, etc. No one would touch it. Enter Paul at Off-Ramp. He not only made the bag as good as new, but I later learned that he had contacted the bag manufacturer, traded numerous emails and went to great lengths to fix the bag. And he charged me next to nothing. Super nice guy. I will be looking for leather work to send his way.

I popped in here to get some really basic work done to a leather jacket i already owned. Kind of a cheapie biker jacket, too. All the other shops refused to hear about it, since I didn’t buy there. Not at Off Ramp! He did an *amazing* job, charged me next to nothing, and was fun to hang around with while the work was being done. Fantastic resource!
