I have been to Lola’s about 10 times total over the years, but have tried only 4 menu items. The Belly Fried Clams(as opposed to fried clam strips) are worth 5 stars, and that’s that. Many restaurants offer fried clams, but often the breading stinks, or they offer clam strips only. Lola’s are as good as you are going to find down here in my opinion. Fried shrimp also good, and you can order a cone with 2 or 3 different fried items. Their coleslaw is also worth mentioning. Then there’s the Lobster roll — yum! If I could afford them, I’d easily eat a few a week. Very good. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table, so it’s very casual, and the atmosphere/plaza is not the greatest, but if you want New England-style seafood done right, Lola’s is a great choice.

On vacation in Florida last month I found this place on Unilocal.Believe it or not, I had never had a lobster roll! Yep, sad but true. And really sad now, because I don’t live near Lola’s. People said it was the best they had and I believe the reviews although I have nothing to compare it with. Flavor was great! According to the locals(spoke to them in the restaurant), the lobster rolls are their best item. Now who sells the best lobster rolls in the DC area? And can they sell it for less than $ 18.00?
