We are visiting from Seattle and came across this place in a pleasant an quaint Paia. This is a great spot for a variety of beers with 53 beers on tap. Also, ask for Dave, he’s very knowledgeable of his beers and also very hospitable. All around it’s a great spot to wind down after the beach and surf.

Great location and nice atmosphere, with a little too much ’70’s music, lol. Great selection of beers on tap, and cider too! Food portions are large and it’s good and hot. Have had the pizza many times and would recommend it. The seating is mostly picnic table, family style so good for large parties.

Island hopped over for a few days and as a single woman traveling, Dave was extremely hospitable and conversational! Welcoming and narrowed down a yummy Coconut Porter that hit the spot! Highly recommend stopping in for a wide selection of beers and yummy eats!

Great place! Love the seating, a nice cool breeze blowing through. The service was great! We ordered a few sides, and the garlic fries are amazing! A couple sliders, and that set the bar high for what their burgers must taste like! And their hot wings were great too! The burgers were OUTSTANDING. Cooked to perfection. We split the bleu burger on the Hawaiian bun, and the fireball burger. Both were mouthwatering and delicious. My dad ordered the Mahi with the macadamia nut and it was amazing as well! The fish was so tender and the sauce it was served with was perfect. Great beers, the Bloody Mary was great!!! Can’t wait to return to this place! It was great!

I ordered the acai bowl, usually their food is great but the acai bowl is not a reorder. Acai was total liquid. Disappointed but did taste good & the waitress asked if I wanted to get something else.

Rock & Brews has a large selection of food with a fun atmosphere. It has the nice open air feel which lets you enjoy the beautiful Maui temperatures while still being shielded from the elements. If you like your beer, this site has a HUGE tap selection to choose from including many of the local brews. Music is always playing(a great deal of 70 – 80’s rock) and they play the music videos along with them. I was a bit disappointed in the happy hour. You have four beers to choose from(some of them good) but the appetizers are much smaller than their normal menu. Yea, you get the garlic fries for half the price… but it’s a third of the normal size. Not a good value. Overall, this place is decent but their happy hour did not win me over to want to come back for a normal meal. I could see this being a great group hangout… but I wouldn’t put this at the top of my list for first choices when it comes to eating at a bar.

Attempted to eat here today with my husband and son. It was lunch time and the restaurant was pretty empty. The sign said«seat yourself» so we chose a table outside. After 5 minutes, no one greeted us, so I got up and got us some menus. After 10 minutes, still no greeting and a waiter even walked right by us to collect the tab from the table next to us. Not even any eye contact made. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we decided our money would be better spent next door at Charley’s, so we left. Head to Charley’s for friendly service and good food.

We stopped here on our way out of town just to grab a beer, then ended up staying for dinner. The atmosphere was inviting– my boyfriend and I were easily able to pick whichever table we wanted, there was a nice breeze, and the staff were friendly. There was a huge selection of beers/cocktails; we had the pineapple glazed ribs which was a nice touch! Our waitress, Kailynn, took the time to talk to us about her life on the island too which added to the experience! We will be sure to stop in again when we return.

This is a fairly new joint in Paia, maybe a year old or so. I went here with some friends and we enjoyed everything about it from the delicious food to the service and ambiance. If you’re looking for good food and a place to hangout definitely come here! Lacey was an awesome server!

We’ve driven past this place for years and never stopped. We tried it and we loved it. The service is a little slow but it’s Maui, right? The food and the beers were top notch. The porters on tap were out of this world.

Started did with the garlic cheese fries — didn’t expect them to be as good as they were(sitting in a base of butter with melted cheese), quite satisfying. Aloha Nui Loa for a drink — slightly on the tart side — I’m going to attribute that to the fresh pineapple and lilikoi purée — still decent. Don’t think that this one would be the same on two different days, so might try it again. Definitely not what I expected based on the description. Had to have the hubby finish it as to not waste. I ordered the Margharitaville pizza and the hubby ordered the R&B special pizza. Not sure if the crust is hand-tossed, but could be. Very tasty on both orders. Mine was a little heavier than I expected for being a traditional mozzarella, tomato and basil pizza — but still yummy. May have to come back for happy hour to see if this place starts hopping with life and great deals on apps and drinks. Server slightly on the lack of customer service side(kept taking my menu — which had the drink menu on the back)…and although the room wasn’t quite busy, she didn’t work the room as I figured someone who works here would have. This could be a phenomenally fun and upbeat place to work. No Kamaaina discount. FYI

I travel extensively and have experienced many news restaurants, good and bad. I had the pleasure of visiting Rock & Brew in Paia Maui. Hands down one of the best in Maui. On my first visit I ordered the Sesame Crusted Fresh Ahi, Mango & Avocado Salad. Excellent! So good I came back two days later and once again the meal was superb. Both visits, great food & great service. I will definitely come back to this unique restaurant. If you get to this restaurant be sure to order one of Mallory’s Bloody Mary’s. This was our first time into Rock and Brews and will definitely not be the last. If sipping on amazing local beers and watching Billy Joel, The Traveling Wilbury’sand Fleetwood Mac videos and baseball sound like an ideal afternoon then this is your place. My hubby have the mahi-mahi tacos and I had the ahi salad with avocado and mango. The bartender was perfectly attentive with out being annoying. Treated us with great respect even though we were obviously tourists. A perfect stop on our way back to our home away from home here in a Lahaina.

Great place to start your trip towards Hana. We came here because Charley’s next door was not offering anymore breakfast and it was a great alternative option. I would consider it a primary option for anyone craving standard burger and fries if they’ve been in Hawaii long enough to forgo the more Hawaiian type food. Despite that, we still managed to get a nice Ahi salad in and a great pulled pork sandwich with fries. Off to Hana!

July 2014 was the perfect time for me to try Paia’s newest spot, which gave them time to settle in and work out all the kinks. Since then we’ve been in a few times so it’s time for an update. LOCATION: Near the corner of Hana Highway & Baldwin Avenue, south side. ATMOSPHERE: Tall open beam ceilings greet you, providing for a very spacious and airy feeling. The restaurant is open-air only, so it can be pretty uncomfortable if there are no tradewinds. There’s a good sized bar which seats around 15 or so with an up front view of their numerous taps, along with communal high tops, and communal picnic style tables which are great for large parties. The only«private» tables are along the outdoor lanai in front and on one side of the restaurant. The vibe is pretty mellow and doesn’t get super busy. The background music is always at normal level, with muted TV’s abound. It felt like a boring Hard Rock Café with very little memorabilia. MENU: Bar apps, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, American fare. BEVERAGE: Kirin Ichiban — A good choice if you want a big beer for the price. The 16 oz. is $ 5.50. Widmer Hefeweizen — Citrusy beer but I cannot drink a lot of this as the next day is not pretty, lol. Lost Coast Tangerine — This was refreshing! A bit citrusy and super smooth. Highly recommended for the Blue Moon and Shock Top fan. Green Flash West Coast IPA — Yuck! Super bitter. Hoppy beers are not our thang and returned it. They were nice enough to take it off our tab. Thank you! FOOD: Rockin’ Hot Wings — 8 drumettes, carrot & celery slices and blue cheese dressing. Very pricey at $ 14 for only 8 pieces, but, they were very meaty & juicy, cooked perfect, and garnered a 3.5 heat rating on a 5-scale. Garlic Cheese Fries — Really good and really tasty. The fries were crispy and weren’t overloaded with garlic. As for ranch dressing to dip instead of ketchup. The portion size is good for four to share. Mountain Mushroom & Swiss Burger — Highly recommended for the burger fan. Juicy, with nice notes of garlic and charbroil. I was apprehensive about the bun being a «sweet bun» but I couldn’t detect any sweetness which was a good thing. The natural fries were thick and crispy. The only thing that was missing was a pickle. RESERVATIONS: Not needed and I don’t think are even taken as it’s a seat yourself place. SERVICE: We’ve always had great servers. Very professional, and friendly. OVERALL: Good food, great beer selection and service, and open later than most Paia restaurants.

Came to have pizza and beer while watching the NBA finals game. Again, service was great. The Margherita pizza was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Crunchy crust, just the right amount of ingredients and really flavorful! Great place to watch the game!

Roomey space with great music and interior. I loved watching the music videos and looking at the different posters as we waited for our food. They also had an amazing beer selection with friendly service! Highly recommend the Paia Porter! However, the food was really subpar. We ordered the mac & cheese and fish & chips. I’m not sure how they fry their fish, but the breading was soggy with almost no flavor at all. The mac & cheese was also forgetful. My friend ordered the lettuce wraps and really did not enjoy it. So much that she re-ordered an entrée. Thankfully, the brownie sundae was delicious so we ended on a good note. I really liked the space but the food overall did not meet expectations at all. However, I would recommend R&B for a casual drink with friends and others!

Great sports bar with TVs and about 50 beers on tap. Definitely a cool, genuine sports bar experience that you can’t get many places on Maui. Food is pretty typical bar food, nothing amazing.

Did not eat, but cool open bar that has a great selection and some interesting drinks. Wife ordered the rosemary baby and it was refreshing. Would be a great place for groups. Pizza looked great and was loaded. Multiple nice sized tvs and cool rock artwork on the walls.

When I move to Maui, I wanna live in Paia so I can come here. Seriously, this place is awesome. High beamed ceilings so you don’t feel claustrophobic, on the main drag, lots of beer, good food, and great service. Food wise, it’s bar food. I mean, you’re here to drink beer, right? And since I’m a beer girl, I love bar food! They have burgers and pizzas, wings and ribs, some salad items and fries, just awesome bar food! I like the wings here, particularly the size of them. I’m not thrilled with the sauce, but their wings are nice and meaty. Not scrawny at all. Their selection of beers, though is what gets me! I love me some beer and I love that there are so many choices! Draught beer definitely tastes different from bottle, so if they have it on draught, pick that one to try! Service is friendly and quick. The servers will make a genuine effort to talk with you, which is nice. There’s parking in the lot, but I parked on the street. I had to do some shopping after eating, so I didn’t want to hog up the lot. Definitely will make this my «Cheers» bar once I make Maui my home.
