This place has some of the best tacos and everything is made fresh. The hand tortillas, the aguas, gucamole and the salsas. It doesn’t matter what I order I’m never disappointed and one of my personal favorites is the al pastor torta.

Disappointed came here to try the burrito. The burrito was packed full of rice and fell apart within the first couple bites. Salsa tasted burnt and the lady is very sassy and rude. But everything is reasonably price except for the drinks and refill.

I have never had a bad meal here!
Tacos de asada, pastor or taquitos de pollo are my go to’s! My kids love the asada burritos (huge!) or tacos de asada! Taco plates come with a tostada de frijoles de la olla.
Service is quick. Good salsa bar with green or red salsa, cilantro, onions, avocado salsa, radishes and limes.
My sons (13, 11 & 8) and I can eat here for under $ 40 including horchatas and sodas.
Parking lot is a little small but I have never had problems parking!

Had the torta de milanesa… bomb! The salsa with more of the orange color was tasty and spicy… the horchata is alright, nothing special but a bit over priced. Overall food was great and will come back. Service was good and I didn’t wait long for my food.

Soooo disappointed! My friends and I came here last weekend, and we actually were looking for a different restaurant but saw how many good reviews it had along with great prices and we were definitely willing to check it out! We were looking at the menu (which looks great) and when one of us went to order… the girl behind the register coughed/​sneezed into some kind of napkin and then set it right on the counter. We were so grossed out that we just had to leave. I was so bummed out! Everything looks great but we couldn’t take a chance on the hygiene… Won’t be back.

Chain restaurant, but heard many good things. Chose this location because it is one of the original locations. I opted in to try a bunch of tacos.
HANDMADE CORN TORTILLAS! The only reason I bumped it up to 4 stars. I recommend dining in to eat the tacos since it already taste doughy when served (would be too doughy if not eaten right away).
Pastor was salty and flavorful, but I preferred it to be a little more charred. Lengua was awesome and not too gamey. Azada was average, would not order next time around.
Overall, I love fresh to order corn tortillas! It makes everything better. The green taco sauce was awesome! All the tacos were served with just the meat and tortillas. All condiments were DIY on the side.

Just finishing off eating a torta de milanesa. First off it took them around 23 minutes to give my mother and I are order. Second they didn’t have any chiles envinagre. Third they burned my bolillo. Fourth the meat was burned and was hard to chew. I came here hoping to satisfy my cravings and all I can really say at this point is how much I regret spending my money here. So disappointed.

1 of the 2 best Taquerias in the SFV. You even have the option of handmade tortilla. The Salsas are delicious. The grilled onions, chile and tostadita with beans with your food are a big plus. The Alpastor is not sweet and not served with pineapple like other places. The Papa Nachos are very good too!

Best handmade tortilla tacos in the valley hands down! I usually have to go to either Tijuana or Vegas to get that Mexican taco taste. Now this place went all out with their handmade tortilla tacos they are mouth watering and will leave you asking for more. No complaints good tacos ! Fresh guacamole here too!

I love this place !! Taco el Gordo has real authentic great Mexican place with real reasonable prices! Their Pozole is one of the best I have tasted in the valley. I mean just about everything I have eat here has been great.

But their asada and suadero tacos were pretty yummy. And they give you a small sample of their pinto beans on a fried corn tortilla – quite tasty on their own without being salty.
Many different choices for meats and many different plates here – worth the stop to try them out!

I used to work close by Tacos El Gordo so it became my default Mexican place in Pacoima. I have to say though, it’s a very high quality default place. It’s my tried and true restaurant for a reason.
Over and over, the waiters have proven to be friendly and understanding. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Maritza, and she was super helpful and sociable.
I ordered 2 carne asada tacos a mano with a side of rice and it definitely did not disappoint. The meat was freshly cooked, the tortillas were warm and delicious and the sauces complemented the food well.
I dock it one star bc my total order came out pricier than I expected, but other than that it was a pleasant dining experience.
The best part was that they had a live mariachi band as I was eating! Totally sets the atmosphere and made me enjoy my dining experience even more. Highly recommend this place to all.

Omg… So good place is so good for Mexican food… We ate breakfast and it was so good… I love this place for weekend brunch… Bring the family the kids… They customize your order if you don’t like certain things… I had the pozole and the broth was so good.

Came in for lunch. Ordered a cheese burger combo. with avocado!
Now I was charged extra for the avocado which is fine no problem but …
When the cheeseburger came I only received 1 poor slice of avocado.
Now if your gonna charge for avocado at least make it noticeable in the burger.
My total came out to $ 8.82

Whenever I am in need of some tacos or burritos, Tacos El Gordon is where I come!
The food is good, not BOMB but good. My favorite? Their BREAKFAST BURRITO hits the spot all and every time! Their Horchata is good also, not too sweet, not too «blah» it’s just right. Tortas are delicious, quesadillas are bomb, Al Pastor Tacis are on point as well.
All in all, if you’re ever in need of some quick Mexican food, Tacos El Gordo is where you want to go.
