my friend’s family owns this restaurant so they invited me over for dinner. we ended up ordering a lot of food. because i’m not really a sashimi person, i mainly ate the cooked foods. we ordered some edamame, oysters, sweet shrimp, cooked salmon, lion king roll, deep fried dynamite roll, shrimp tempura roll, grilled squid, and a few other items. i personally love eating grilled squid and deep fried sushi haha. i would recommend ordering the lion king and deep fried dynamite rolls because the spicy sauce adds a little kick to the sushi! the food is here is pretty good and the prices are affordable! if you’re ever bowling at classic bowling and you have the munchies for some japanese food, you should definitely check this place out since it’s really close by! notes: the restaurant is located in a mini plaza, so there’s some parking available. the noise level is pretty average. and the service is good. definitely a good japanese restaurant to check out if you’re not looking to spend too much on japanese food :)

I ordered on Sunday night via Eat 24 app. I always goes through Eat 24 because I have coupon codes and they check the step by step status for you. I ordered at 7:20pm. It said 45 – 60 min so I said okay… No big deal I decided to just have EAT24 check the status at 8:00 since I had no updates. They said at 8:06 the food was on the way! I was thrilled considering I live less than a mile away… 8:20 rolls around… No delivery… So I called the restaurant and she told me I was being rude and unreasonable. I said I wasn’t trying to be I was just trying to understand if the food left 15 min ago, where was it? I only live a mile away. The food finally showed up at 8:40. 20 min past the time it was supposed to me there– low and behold, it was cold! So gross. I spent almost $ 40 and this is what I get? EAT24 has been trying to fight it for me and all they can offer me is a free sushi roll? Seriously? I want a freaking refund!!! You are lucky I didn’t get sick from you serving me cold food/not up to food regulations. I won’t be back. It’s not worth it for some mediocre sushi. Plus the way they treat there customers… Hell no!!!

I called at 1:15pm to make a reservation for two at 6:30pm and was denied because I didn’t have a party of 6 so they couldn’t charge me a gratuity fee the woman that picked up the phone said for a table of two I can still get a table by just stepping in. I showed up at 6:15pm to get a table for two now I have to wait an hour. So much for showing up earlier.

We have been regular customers for years. «Sushi-8» as my kids call it, used to be wonderful. Tonight was a deal-breaker. First, after being seated and settling-in, we were asked to move to another table, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Then we were told tonight was«only cash»(something about their card machine not working). Our server took our order and came back with sushi, but forgot the first course of miso soup. Then, the servers were switched, and ours was gone(I later had to flag down random servers to get service). The miso soup eventually arrived, under duress. The raw oysters were«off» and inedible. The remaining sushi was respectable, but not distinguished in any way. The service was grudging compliance, rolling eyes, obsequious smiles. A conscientious complaint on my part made little difference. For our entire sushi dinner, our green tea and water were never re-filled. This used to be a wonderful little spot for sushi. Now, it’s more assembly line take-out, and table service has suffered.

Love this place for fast, well priced(happy hour) sushi! Just remember to reserve a table in advance! Get super busy.

Friendly service, small place(parking lot is very tiny) but it is a clean place and most importantly their sushi tastes FRESH. I was not a fan of their chicken teriyaki, tasted like rubber… Their prices are very low and they have a lot of different promotions, we got free california roll on our order of $ 30. A friend that lives in the area mentioned they have other promotions going on all the time.

I live walking distance but am always reluctant to trying new places since I have my regular spots around Pacifica. We went on a random Tue night for dinner, the bf ordered a sushi boat and I was happy to see sweet potato and cucumber rolls on the menu, so we ordered. Salad could use a bit more dressing, soup is good, and the meals that we ordered came out at a very reasonable time. The boat was devoured and my veggie rolls were so good! Never had that before. So we go back all the time now… Service is consistently friendly and the food is always very tasty(besides the sometimes overcooked teriyaki chicken). I hate it when I smell all the awesome food being made around dinner time because I’m almost giving up on cooking at home. Sunday nights are always good for a quick bento box order for pick up and then get comfy at home ready for the work week.

This is our go-to dinner place since it’s close to our house and they deliver. Most times the person taking the order is nice but I have to repeat a lot since it’s so loud in the background. My son loves tofu in the miso soup, I ask for extra and they give it free of charge. The food is good but not amazing. The delivery person is always friendly, they do take up to an hour or more at times so be aware depending how hungry you are.

I have ordered here twice, the first time was around 8pm(dinner time) and the sushi was absolutely amazing but the second time I ordered for lunch and it was absolutely disgusting. I ordered the same thing and was very unpleased. I don’t know what to say I moved close by and felt fortunate to have sushi close by but now I cant help but think my sushi gonna be crap. I will have to order again around dinner time and see, I won’t give up yet.

Bring cash to get the discounted special cash only roll deals. You’ll need to spend $ 10 per person from the regular menu to access this deal. The cash only roll deals were pretty cheap and worth getting. My friend and I ordered a bento with beef short ribs(good), sesame chicken(weird and tasted like chicken nuggets but in a good way) and shrimp tempura(standard). We got a dragon roll to reach our 20 $ amount to get access to the special menu. Then ordered salmon sashimi, a rainbow roll, and a lion king roll. The salmon sashimi was too cold and tasted like it came out of the fridge recently. The rainbow roll was not bad and the lion king roll was good too. The quality of the sushi was average and decent, which is why I’m leaving three stars. Nothing wowed me but nothing was bad. It looks like a family run business and service was fine. The restaurant was relatively crowded for a Thursday night.

If you’re already in the neighborhood and craving some of that good-good, then swing by! The Rainbow Roll: Standard. For the price, it was decent, but all in all kind of bland. Didn’t seem super fresh, but whad’ya expect for the low price?! Bento(Saba, Tempura): The saba was surprisingly very good. It was a good portion as well. The tempura was average. Not super crunchy — the way I like it. House Udon: I think the pairing that comes with the udon goes better w/Ramen. They had only one piece of BBQ pork in our udon, so that was a disappointment. All in all, Meh. I would not be opposed to revisit this place, but it definitely doesn’t strike me as recommend-worthy.

Synopsis: Within 10 mins of arrival, I was greeted, seated(at the sushi bar), provided a menu, offered/pointed towards their special deal(where you order at least a certain $ amount off the regular menu, then you then get access to their special deals, aka cheaper, although limited, menu), received my first order, and then that was it. Not once did the waitress or even the sushi chefs I was seated in front of, ever(let me reiterate EVER), came to 1) check on me, 2) refill me drink, 3) take the rest of my order off the special menu, or(get this) 4) give me my bill. Even when I tried to get any of their attentions. Everyone was simply too busy with their tunnel vision. On top of that, there was a creepy guy on the other end of the bar, just staring at me the whole time. Finished food within 20 mins. Poor service and weird atmosphere so I just decided to up n go half hour later. Since I barely got any service, I had half a mind to leave with a free meal but I’m too honest. So I guesstimated my amount due, minus tip, left the cash, then left. 1 extra star cuz when you actually get service, the food n deals are actually decent.(This was my 2nd time there.)

Best sushi with great prices if you dine in and pay with cash only. Bring cash to get that deal! Down side of this place is that they only have 6 parking spots in front of the restaurant. There is street parking but its hard to find. I hope they move to a bigger location w/lots of parking.

Nice little Chinese family place with dissent rolls, however have to watch the orders cause waiters messing it up. The place place could use some renovation as well. Mango Tango is huge and can be ordered for two persons. Overall may come back to enjoy it.

Sashimi at this small hidden japanese restaurant is surprisingly fresh. Got a boat full of sashimi and all were delicious; no matter the hamachi, tuna, salmon, spicy tuna roll, California roll all were delicious and yes enough for at least 3 – 4 people to share. I recommend 8 sushi if you love sashimi and sushis!

I have never been so disappointed and upset with 8 Sushi before until tonight. I will further listen to my little brother to not eat and starve myself next time I’m hungry. First let’s start with my order. Please check the details of our order online. As we noted to separate sushi and no onions on a the deep fried ca roll. This was an order online to pick up. Online says free California roll with order over $ 30 or more. Added the coupon on top of the order of two bento boxes. One beef and CA Rolls. The second order beef and chicken teriyaki. With the 3 orders of sushi: lion king roll, deep fried California roll with no onions and tempura roll. I went inside the restaurant to pick up our food order. First problem was they thought our order was delivery not pick up. Fine, we left and went home. As we unraveled our food from the bags, sushi rolls all in one container and onions with the roll we did not want onions from. No extra order of California roll. Upset I called the restaurant to inform them of the situations of my order. The lady Ivy Sing immediately responds to my free order of California roll not being there is because it’s a special if I call in to order not online. I stated she was wrong because their website has given me that option to add the free California roll. She kept insisting my next order would have a free order of California roll even if it was under limit. I got angry because she wasn’t understanding the point. You have a website that has options for specific instructions and NONE were followed. No sushi roll orders separated and no onions on my deep fried California roll. What if I happened to be allergic to onions I informed Ivy on the phone. What if I died and my family sued the restaurant because the restaurant didn’t follow specific instructions as listed on from your website. All from there it was I’m sorry, after I’m sorry, and we were busy. Busy? A table of four and a table of 2 isn’t considered busy. Maybe some online orders added to that. The only thing they were busy with was messing up orders. I asked to please speak to the manager and was informed manager wasn’t available. The managers contact Info could not be given to me. Therefore, I told them please have them contact me and I will be at the restaurant tomorrow looking for him. I truly wish it ended there… However, my little brother ordered the double combo bento box of beef and chicken teriyaki. After putting soy sauce on his rice he began to dig into the chicken. He ate a few pieces of the chicken, then the beef and went to go for a chicken piece. Then he notices two pieces of chicken were still pink. I’m sorry if it seems like I’m exaggerating. Chicken must be cooked fully in order for it to be consumed. I was officially done with 8 sushi and decided to show them what they served my little brother. The same girl came to the door and apologized. I was like not only did you guys mess up our order all together, but raw chicken? That isn’t right. I demanded the manager. Immediately ran to the table to speak to some old guy who claimed to be the manager. I walked over and told him would you like me to explain what happened? He said sure. Repeated my incident about online ordering no separating sushi and no onions. He starts getting up immediately and states I will talk to my chefs. I was like not only about this but RAWANDSTILLPINKCHICKEN they served to my little brother. He could tell I was livid at that point. Asked what did I want to have a whole entire order cooked or a refund. All I got was a messed up, with onions, some raw pink chicken served on the side with a receipt that states VOID. YEAH, PLEASEAVOIDGOINGTO8Sushi ANDCHECKYOURENTIREORDER. What If I was allergic to onions, my brother died from raw chicken? This restaurant would have been closed, we would have been dead, and they would have been paying for our funeral. All because they couldn’t pay attentive detail to the online orders not like they do inside the actual restaurant. By the way, when confronting the chef about the raw chicken he served my brother. The chef tossed it in the bin where I’m guessing the dirty dishes go. So much for showing how much you care about your customers! THISRESTAURANTSHOULDBEIMMEDIATELYCLOSED! I’ve been to 8 sushi for dinner about 3 times now and I’m pleasantly surprised. I’ve passed by this place on my way to onyx a few times and decided to stop by and try it one day. The restaurant is pretty small and I sure they’ll be packed during dinner. I come right when they’re open and get a seat right away. Oh! Their parking lot is tiny so I’d suggest coming early to get a spot. As for the food, it’s a pretty decent Japanese place. I don’t normally order chicken teriyaki because I hate dried out chicken but theirs is moist. Their chicken katsu is also really good. The rolls I’ve tried were the dragon roll, futomaki, and the spicy tuna roll. The dragon roll is average but I did feel like there was an eel bone when I ate it today.)= I think I’ll be staying away from it. The futomaki roll was also pretty good but was a little dry for my liking. The spicy tuna roll was like any other place and was pretty good. Overall it’s a pretty decent Japanese place. It’s not too expensive so you get what you pay for!

Be careful ordering online through Unilocal.Even if you’ve already paid online through Unilocal/EAT24, they will ask for your card and charge you a second time when you’re there to pick up your food. We spoke to the owner and he was very rude about not refunding us properly for the double charge. He would not apologize for the inconvenience nor take ownership of the issue. He would rather have you get a refund from your credit card company for the mistake so that he can keep the revenue from online Unilocal orders AND the revenue they get from charging your card when you pick up.

This place is great! We ordered«to-go» last night for the 1st time and we have eaten there probably 4 or 5 times. They have BROWNRICESUSHI!!! That is what I love about this place! Its not too expensive, if you order there! I definitely recommend the House«8» roll as well as the lion king! We have tried so many, but I am a fan of the ones with a lot of toppings. As a lot of the reviews also say, I sometimes get the miso soup and we order the house salad and they dont come until a waitress or waiter comes over to ask if we need anything before the rolls come out, and then they brought them for us. So if you dont get your appetizers within a couple minutes just ask and they will bring it to you. Overall I think this place is great, for the price as well as all the options and especially that they have brown rice sushi!
