I am from up north and grew up with Togo’s. They are a much better version of Subway and I really like all the fresh veggies and carcogenic free bread;) That being said, the Oxnard and Ventura locations don’t live up to the rest of the chain. I grab a sandwich from the Westlake Togo’s for lunch a few times a month and service is always nice, line moves quickly, and the food is fresh. Oxnard and Ventura… not so much. The counter people always seem well intentioned but aren’t trained well – expect a significant wait even if there are only a handful of people in the shop. They also have been out of the sandwich reward cards for over a year and don’t honor the daily specials posted on the board. I never push because they nervously say the owner won’t order more cards or let them stamp existing cards, and the owner doesn’t let them do the daily deals. So strange… I feel bad for the people working there and try to do all my sandwich eating down in Westlake where people seem happy. I asked for the owner’s business card and got that fearful look and a whisper that they are not allowed to give out contact info so I am Unilocaling my concern. Would rather have dropped a note to the owner…

Decent sandwich place, a bit of a step up from Subway. Give it a try if you want to change up your sandwich routine. They’ve also got a hummus sandwich for vegetarians, and you can always customize your own sandwich to be meat-free.

We planned a picnic in Ventura with a brief stop in Oxnard so I called Togo’s to place a pick up order as we drove up from the LA area. Vanessa took my phone order and took her time to listened to my special requests for my order. When we arrived, we walked up to the«phone order» line and bypassed waiting in line, which was GREAT! Vanessa greeted us and said she just finished our order. We also checked in on Unilocal and took our free drink too. Our sandwiches were fresh, delicious, and perfectly made!

Ate there for the first time a couple weeks ago. A young lady named Devina made me a triple dip sandwich. The sandwich was incredible! Excited that I found a new place to eat being that I just bought a house nearby and don’t have a refrigerator yet, I returned the next day. The customer in front of me asked the guy making her sandwich if the roll he was about to use was a 6 or 9 inch roll, because she wanted a 9 inch. The employee placed the roll to the side and grabbed another roll. Meanwhile, another employee was assisting me. I asked for a 9 inch triple dip again. The girl making my sandwich picked up the 6 inch roll. I asked her for another roll because I ordered a 9 inch sandwich. She insisted it was a 9 inch roll and reluctantly I accepted it. The sandwich was not worth twelve dollars. STRIKEONE! A couple days later, my dad came to see my new house. I told him I knew of a place that makes great sandwiches. We went in and he ordered some sort of roast beef sandwich. Knowing that the prices were high, I ordered a 6 inch pastrami instead of my usual 9 inch triple dip. The girl began making the sandwich and then walked in the back. My dad’s sandwich was ready. The girl comes out and tells me it’ll be 15 minutes because they had to slice the pastrami. Reluctantly, I agreed to wait. Fortunately, it didn’t take the entire 15 minutes to slice the pastrami and they threw in free chips and a drink, but by the time my sandwich was made, my dad had already finished his. I asked him if he liked it, to which he replied«it was ok». STRIKETWO! So last night I went in for the fourth and final time. It was 8:28pm. I asked for a 9 inch triple dip. The girl tells me «we’re only making cold sandwiches because we close in 30 minutes and I need to clean the toasters.» STRIKETHREE! Your service is horrible, the prices are outrageous and your employees are clueless. Last time I’ll ever step foot in one of your stores. Save your canned«we want you to be happy and we’ll look into it» replies. You could of had a regular customer and by regular I mean daily if not multiple times daily with friends and family, because I’m single and still don’t own a refrigerator. I hate your restaurant so much, I went out of my way to download this app, create an account and write this long winded review. I’ll never recommend TOGO’s to anyone.

Not the greatest sandwich shop. It seems like a knock off Jersey Mikes. I went for a sandwich with my wife on a lunch break, and it took 45 mins to get a sandwich made, and their was only 2 people in front of me in line. The sandwich was not that great either, and defiantly not worth it for how long we had to wait in line. Do not go here if you are trying to grab a quick bit on lunch break. I hate to say it, but I’d rather eat at subway then return back to this place.

So I remember hearing of TOGO’s a long time ago but I never ate there. And then I remember all the local ones closing and so I figured they must not have been that good. Then my boss invited me out for lunch and dragged me all the way to one in a neighboring city(this location), which to me made no sense at all. And then… I had the #9 Hot Pastrami. It was a game changer. First, there’s more meat in the regular size sandwich than Subway has in a foot long. Add to that I got a free drink just for checking in on Unilocal and it was over. I still hit up Subway for convenience every now and then(because they’re everywhere) but if I have a choice, I’m getting the #9 Club Supreme at Jersey Mike’s or the #9 here. My wife had never had TOGO’s either and when she ordered their turkey and avocado she was blown away. Again, Subway puts about 4 slices of a tiny avocado on their sandwiches… TOGO’s on the other hand uses and ice cream scooper and you get two nice size scoops. She really couldn’t believe it. I guess both our standards had dropped so low we were a bit overly excited. Try it or Diet Final Word If you’ve been eating at subway too long or if you like pastrami and/or avocado, you have to try it. Also, don’t forget to «check in» on Unilocal. You’re meal may come with a free drink. Best part, there’s one in Oxnard now so no more trips to Ventura.
