We were looking for a nice golf course to play on a beautiful saturday afternoon and found this one rated top 10 course in metro detroit so we had to check it out. We got to play for $ 35 a person at 2pm on a saturday thanks to . 1. Clubhouse 5⁄5. Gorgeous! Beautiful stone walkway, filled proshop and very nice grille called Gimmies. I got a vodka lemonade to go and the prices were reasonable. 2. Course 3/5.They have 3 – 9 hole courses and we played the Peaks to Dunes. The conditions were spectacular, can’t complain about that! Wide fairways and fast greens that are very playable but tough enough. Downfall was no cart girl on the course, no ball washers anywhere and only one water/bathroom pavilion per 9 holes. Only saw the ranger once on hole 1 and we were very backed up 2 – 3 deep on each hole. Took over 2:30 to play the first 9 holes. The Peaks its self has some nice water holes that were scenic but nothing that I thought was worthy of the top 10 course in metro detroit. It was the shortest of the 9 with par 4s ranging around 300 yards and the par 3s being quite short around low 100 yards. I have played many many courses and could name better ones than this one. The Dunes for the second nine was better only because it was wide open with no wait and it seems like we had the course to ourself which was a completely different experience than the Peaks so I don’t know how that happened but I won’t complain. The dunes had more sand traps which were in ok condition and not too difficult. The scenery was not as impressive and it was more through a neighborhood than the Peaks. They did have a putting greens to practice and a nice driving range which we looked at but did not use. 3.Personal 5⁄5. Everyone was very nice we ran into. We were 20 minutes early for our tee time and the ranger snuck us out in front of two 4somes on the Peaks, which we were very thankful for. Unfortunately it didn’t help the speed of play. Overall I would not pay more than $ 35 a person to play this course.

This review has nothing to do with the golf course but rather the banquet center. We recently went to the banquet center for their Mother’s Day Brunch. We had 8 people for our brunch and one toddler. The price was a bit expensive for brunch(plus drinks were extra… didn’t even include a mimosa or something for mom). When we arrived, we were very very disappointed. Our server was polite but it was quite obvious she did not know how to properly wait on a table. Our drinks took forever. Then they did not have any bar fruit for the drinks(no limes, no olives or celery for the bloody marys, etc). Our server was unable to tell us what kind of wine they served– she had to leave and find out from the bar. The food was buffet. It was decent for the most part but nothing special. Our table kept commenting that we could have made a better spread at home. The one soup option was cold as was most of the other food. And it seemed the variety was lacking(a large part of the buffet was a plan old build your own salad bar). Our plates kept piling up on our table(not because we ate a lot… there were just 8 of us).we actually had to ask the server to take the stack of plates(that WE stacked up in the center of our table) away. THEN there was a 20% gratuity added on to the bill. I worked through college as a waitress/bartender and to have a 20% gratuity on a buffet is ridiculous. Especially because all she did was bring us one round of waters, one round of drinks, and clear our plates… she made about 75 bucks off us. She never even brought us the pitcher of water we asked for since filling up our glasses did not seem to be on her priority list… we figured a pitcher would be easier for her. We live very close to this banquet center and I am truly disappointed that we had this experience because it would have been a very convenient place to have future celebrations(showers, weddings, etc). Unfortunately, my husband and I will not be coming back here nor will the other people who came with us.

WOW what a great public golf course! Got invited to play golf yesterday with my friend Brian, they needed a forth. We had a 10:30am tee off time. None of the four of us had ever played this course. We arrived at the course and the first thing we saw was a very impressive club house, both Brian and I took that as a good sign. Well the club house was second fiddle to the course. They have 3 nines, we started off on the Dunes course, a very playable 9 holes of golf. Challenging but fun! The Dunes course is more in the residential part of this development, though there is not houses on every hole and most of the homes are set back, so unless you really slice the ball, the fairways are wide enough to keep the ball in play. After the Dunes we played the Bluffs course, WOW we all liked these 9 holes too! The 2 negatives I had with the course was NO cart girl on the course, so if you don’t load up with beverages when heading out, your out of luck. Then we were all very disappointed with the crappy sand they use in the bunkers, very course sand that had a lot of rocks and large stones in it! I wish a course of this caliber would replace that crappy sand that would help raise my review closer to 5 stars! So over-all, a very nice, challenging, fun course and along with the club house and the employees of Boulder Pointe were all excellent and top notch! I’ll be heading back there soon!
