The restaurant is now closed. No longer in business. Too bad really since it was very good for the first year or so… :(

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary. It was a while ago, but I still remember the experience well. I would have given it 1 star, but my wife was pleased with the food. I ordered the smoked chicken. It was extremely, extremely dry. To say that the chicken was overcooked — would be an understatement of epic proportions. The service was decent. The place was pretty expensive, as far as restaurants go. I will admit I am a harsh critic regarding food. However, chicken that is so dry — you have to constantly drink your beverage with every bite — is pretty disappointing. Maybe they had a bad day. I would never go back again. The place is a little too pricey to give them another chance.

Great service. Excellent food. I’ll be back here more often even with the 20min drive from Lapeer area.

Not a bad restaurant. Decent selection and good food. Salads are simple but at a great price for their size, good bar and plenty of TVs to watch the wings!

I have been searching for a place with good mussels and found it here. If the ribs were better I would have given them 5 stars. I have been back twice and will go again.

My husband I went here Tuesday night for the first time, and we went back last night with friends for dinner on Saturday night. Love their steaks, great food and they serve warm tasty bread. The price is a little higher than anything else in Oxford and Lake Orion area but I think its worth it. I really enjoyed it.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here met by warm manager and staff welcom excellent food and service with an unexpected soufflé served on the house at no cost. I had the ribeye, med-rare and my wife had the filet, medium prepared. Salads with one side of sweet potato mash for her and asparagus for me. The open dining atmosphere is warm with a private calmness to enjoy dinner, drink and conversation. I felt for the overall experience and priced right menu… a homerun pick and suggest you see for yourself.

Two sections. Bar and dinning area with HARD seats. The dinning area is one large room with tables like a cafeteria and no privacy. I ordered their mushroom swiss burger for $ 9.99. The menu stated, «Burger with fries, soup or salad.» I assumed it meant fries were included with a choice of soup or salad. Wrong! I was told the salad was an extra $ 4.00. The burger was brought to the table with 2 half dollar pieces of romaine lettuce and a paltry amount of fries that were greasy. The only napkin you get is the one your silverware is wrapped in. No place mats or table cloths. This place is bare bones with high prices.

I really can’t say anything bad about this place except maybe the manager D(just kidding!) The food is very good… fresh and a good variety of specials. Had one item one time I didn’t care for and when I told them, Manager went back to the kitchen and found out the recipe was not up to their standards. They want you to let them know what you think… they want your input. They will make it right. The steak melted in my mouth and the baked potato is huge! The Chop House Caesar salad is fantastic! The burgers are juicy and if I could change one thing on them it would be the bun… not bad but have had better… it is still very good. So many more things I need to try but, it is hard once you have a couple of favorites. Service has been the best. Many people think the prices are too high but, if you have a steak here, you won’t go back to the other places for steak.

I have upgraded Montana’s to 5 stars. I have been there several times(I’m currently the Duchess), and I have never had a bad meal. However, I upgraded them based on service. We were here on a rainy day on evening, and as a customer was leaving she was talking about the rain and complaining generally about the weather as we all do(I personally was very unhappy with the snow in April). Anyhow, the manager that was standing at the door asked her if she wanted him to get her car for her. She said yes, and he actually ran out, got her car, and brought it to the door. That is what I call exceptional customer service. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I hope they are around for a long, long, time.

Cool place. Homemade food. People complaining about prices need to go check out steakhouses not named«Applebee’s». Time to grow up Oxford. We went for«Restaurant Week». Really great deal. $ 20 for a 10oz «Baseball Cut», half order of Fried Green Tomatoes, and Crème Brûlée. Add to that a great selection of beer(really good drink prices), and some good service and this place is on point. Only criticism was my medium rare steak was closer to rare, and bordering on blue in the middle. Came in a second time, had some drinks and aps. Sliders were really great and pretty cheap($ 7.99 for 6 sliders), and the stuffed mushrooms were tasty, but not quite like I expected. I liked the garlic aioli too, though I think it was more of a remoulade(mayonnaise with garlic mixed in). I can point out a couple minor slip ups, but they’re still new so I’ll keep the 5th star for now. Owner and managers are good people.

My buffalo ribeye was very good! Cooked perfectly! The alligator tail for an appetizer was really good even my 4 year old girl wolfed it down…(she thought it was chicken) I have no idea who told her that though… BUT… Isn’t there always a but? In my eyes if you run a steak house you better hire a cook that can nail the temps and the ever impossible we’ll done steak. Which the better half’s filet was in her words not mine this time«DRY» I know it’s pretty much Impossible but I just expect it done right. And like always She just won’t say anything when something is wrong. Either just don’t want to wait for another one to be recooked or watched(waiting) the movie and afraid what would be done to my food. Guess I’m paranoid. Will I go back? Yes I really enjoyed my dinner and want to try there ribs I just hope she will… The screw up on the steak is a major foul from a steak house or I would have gave a 3.75… 4

Went there last night. I got their grilled fish of the day and it was good, but the little piece of salmon came on a huge plate and didn’t have any vegetables or sides with it besides coming with a side salad. It was fairly pricey to get a side salad and then a huge plate with a salmon filet. I have never been to a restaurant who has served a main meal without some sort of side with it. Others I dined with experienced the same thing with the plank salmon. While the food we had was good, I don’t think they were $ 18 an $ 17 good. Next time I go I will likely just stick with a sandwich or burger.

Went there this afternoon and New Years eve day so it was a busy day. Liked the menu and the food was good… but agree with another poster who said they need smaller cuts of steaks. My wife wanted a steak but they were all too big. They need to add a 6 ounce sirloin for the smaller eaters. Other wise everything was good. My sister lives out that way so not sure when I will make it back but it is worth a try if you live in the area. I never knew that Oxford had so many hillbillys! The crowd had quite a few rural rednecks.

This review is being written within the first week of the restaurant opening. Plus being the holidays, a lot of people were out to celebrate but for a Sunday night, this place was BUSY! Food was very tasty — their signature«Friend Green Tomatoes» app was incredible! The kids meals seems standard fare and were presented in «grownup» plates so the kids felt special. Salmon dishes were delicious — best cedar plank salmon I’ve ever had. I was surprised that there was no bread basket or nibbly things offered when we sat down. Overall, a good restaurant and a welcome addition to the exceptional Oxford restaurant scene.
