Mani Pedi Me

I just moved out of the area, but I’ve gotten my nails done at this salon nearly every two weeks for the last two years. Now that I’m looking for a new salon I am realizing just what I’m missing out on. I honestly believe their is likely not another salon that offers such great service and such talented staff members. Don’t get me wrong they aren’t all perfect and to be fair, you might have difficulty getting in when you want or have to wait awhile… But it’s because of their skill. Chau is unbelievably gifted and never ceased to amaze me by copying perfectly my «Pinterest» designs (If you haven’t had her do lace French tips, you should). Annie’s manicures are classic and beautiful and Christine is a perfectionist that will have you leaving with the straightest lines and beautiful natural looking nails. I tip of that, you will always feel welcome and never like they would rather focus on their conversation with each other. I’m so jealous that my friends and family live near by and will be able to visit this wonderful establishment while I’m searching for a comparable salon in Oklahoma.

I went to this «nail spa» a few weeks ago, and have to say it was just okay. I took my 9 year old daughter with me to get a manicure. The ladies that did our nails were polite enough but not great with kids. The lady that did my daughter’s nails didn’t speak much English, and they couldn’t understand each other. I was quite honestly surprised at the cost, but I got my first gel manicure (french) and my daughter got some art work on her nails so it was a little more than expected. (up charge for French, gel, and art/​gems) Down side my hand massage was seriously lacking. I told the manicurist I was really more interested in that part of the service but she barely did more than smooth on some lotion and call it quits. We were only gone about 15 min and my daughter’s gem fell off her nail. My gel French manicure had hard lumps in the finished polish and I had to file them out myself at home later. They did look nice for a week but on day 8 the topcoat turned brown! I thought maybe I had burned them based on their appearance but a quick google search turned up the reason: bad topcoat. I won’t be back. Unfortunately if I’m going to spend that kind of money on something frivolous I’d at least want it to be quality and last as long as expected (I was told 2weeks for non chip gel). There’s other places around that can do the same service cheaper, better and give a longer lasting result.

I love coming to mani pedi me! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The size of the shop its self is just right and provides an intimate feel. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Nothing special… probably would not come back but they were considerate of me being on a short time schedule.

I’ve lived in Kansas two years now & this is definitely my go to nail salon. Everyone is pleasant, service is quick & prices aren’t bad at all. The salon is extremely clean & they provide a pretty good nail color selection. Oh! & if you pay in cash you get a discount every time, can’t beat that!

This is my new go to pedi place since I changed jobs. Love to pop in at lunch to get a pedi. $ 25 but $ 2 off if you pay cash. And once I learned that you can’t put the tip on the credit card I’m always prepared with enough cash for at least that portion. I’ve had 3 pedicures here and they have each lasted at least a month.

I came here with a Groupon deal for a shellac manicure. The manicure was okay. She didn’t cut down all my cuticles very well and I didn’t really get a massage. She used the cuticle oil that she applied for my cuticles as the massage lubricant instead of using a lotion and only rubbed my hands a little. Other salons give really great massages on my hands and arms with nice lotions. I think this place is okay only if using a groupon!

It was okay. I did the Groupon and well worth my $ 18. They had the wrong address on the Groupon and when I told my manicurist she just looked at me blankly. She wasn’t overly pleasant. My gel manicure looks nice so far and she didn’t tear my nails up like many places do before apply the gel. Everything was pretty standard run of the mill nail place.

My gel manicure peeled the next day! My nails were not shiny and looked terrible.

Like many people in Overland Park last week, I was in town for the National Speech and Debate Association championships. AKA: I was in charge of a gaggle of teenagers, ready to party and debate. Woo. Sunday, the girls on the team and I decided to go out in search of pedicures.
Weird point 1: there are not a lot of nail places around Overland Park. At least not on the internet. I don’t know about Kansas, but where I live (California + Nevada), there is literally a little chop shop nail shop in virtually every strip mall. You can’t throw an avocado without hitting a place where you can get a $ 20 pedicure (and probably a foot fungus, but that’s neither here nor there).
Anywho, so we walked in at about 2 PM on a Sunday and we were immediately told to pick our colors. We settled on sparkly red because, hey, we’re in Kasnas so ruby slippers, ya dig?
Weird point 2: Not a lot of color selection. Again, maybe I’m spoiled (probably), but there was not a huge range of colors available to choose from.
We were shown right to our pedi chairs which were.. .they were sufficient. I can’t be too mad at anything, given the price point of this place– but the chairs definitely have seen betters days. They were worn, torn up, not the cleanest looking things in the world.
Because I’m a baller, I did all the upgrades they offered with my pedicure.. . which really didn’t amount to much, but that’s ok. The pedicure was sufficient. My nail beds were clean around the edges, etc. And over a week later, my polish is still fully intact.
Weird point 3: You can’t leave tips on your card, so be sure to bring cash for that.

This is the second time I’ve been at this salon. It’s rare for me to go to the same one twice, just because I’ve never really had a reason to be loyal to any. I will have to say, both times I’ve been I have been pleased. My friend went with me and she had a completely different experience. My nail tech was awesome and very detailed. I got a gel manicure and she did amazing. My friend however did not get the same detailed, friendly tech like I did. Her nail tech didn’t say a word, then she did a horrible job on her gel manicure. It had these weird waves in it, and the sides of the nail weren’t done properly. My nail tech’s name was Amanda. I would definitely request her when I go back. The gel manicure was $ 27.

I do not live in KC, but found myself in KC visiting my boyfriend and needing my nails done for a wedding. I am a bartender so I spend much of my time on my feet and am extremely hard on my nails. Needless to say I came in with broken nails and feet needing some TLC. I had seen good reviews on here and noticed they had the lowest prices for shellac. I was sold.
I had Celine do my nails, she was great! She wasn’t very talkative, but conversed nicely. Sometimes nail techs talk too much and it causes me to not be very relaxed, this wasn’t the case here. In addition, every time I have gotten my nails done the nail techs cut my cuticles too close and they always bleed. This is the first time I have left a nail salon without that happening. Celine was very gentle but got my calluses off of my feet and paid attention to detail; even painting my shellac on in three layers because she knows it tends to be a more sheer color. Overall I would say I am extremely pleased. I had a basic pedicure and my nails shellacked for $ 50 total, after a $ 2 discount for paying in cash. I tipped Celine $ 10 for her services. I will be returning next time I am in the KC area.
