We love Burnt Ends. Consistently good food! Fast & friendly! Gets pretty busy at lunch time but we can usually eat there in the evening without any complaints. Definitely one of our go to places!

Burnt End BBQ is one of the best places in KC to get BBQ. I have tried nearly all of them, and low and behold Burnt Ends was right near my house. Now I go there quite often. I really love their brisket the most. Their sauces are fantasic, as well. I put Burnt End BBQ in my Top 3 in KC for BBQ.

Place was awesome! When ordering, the young lady noticed my hesitation and she made a recommendation… burnt end bowl. It was awesome! Place was clean, people friendly, service prompt! Definitely will be back next time in KC!

The pork and ribs were outstanding. Smiling staff. Great stop. The only thing that could of been better were the sides. Don’t do the warm baked potato salad or the cheesy corn. The potato wedges were good. The pork and ribs were outstanding. Smiling staff. Great stop.

It’s ok. Nothing special. I’ve been here twice and had ribs once and wings the other. I’m pretty certain this is the only location but it has the feel and taste of a chain BBQ joint. Kind of the«AppleBee’s» of BBQ. Nothing spectacular but edible.

Ordered 3 individual meals consisting of pulled pork, smoked turkey, side salad, creamy corn, potato salad, baked beans and cucumber & tomato salad. The ordering and payment process was standard cafeteria style. All the food items were very average to below average. The issue was lack of flavor and freshness. I will not recommend the Burnt Ends BBQ as there are many other BBQ joints in the KC metro area that are significantly better.

One of the greatest debates of all time; Texas BBQ vs KSBBQ. Burnt End has settled this debate for me. KS does BBQ right! Burnt End was tender with great smoked flavor. The portions were plentiful, the prices were fair and the service was great. I had the two meat plate which came with your choice of two meats and two sides. The meat selections included ribs, pulled pork, brisket, ham and smoked turkey to name a few. There were endless options of sides such as mac and cheese, baked beans, potatoe salad and just about every other southern side that would compliment BBQ. I’ll be back the next time that I visit KS.

I was very surprised of how good this place was. It looked like a chain but the food was more than average. I had the ribs, beans, and mac and cheese. The ribs were moist and had the right amount of fat on them. The mac and cheese was below par. The beans and coleslaw were delicious. The service was quick and the place was clean.

Nothing better to get here than the Burnt Ends. I’ve been twice and got the burnt end bowl, which comes with beans, corn bread, Burnt Ends and is topped with onion strings(my favorite). The burnt ends have that char on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside. Some of them were a little fatty, but nonetheless delicious. The second time got the pick two with ribs, which were really mediocre. I wouldn’t order them again. Overall, great place to grab a quick lunch with a good sauce selection.

I feel like I am about to commit blasphemy… but this is the best damn BBQ in the KC metro area according to us and out dog! We have tried a majority of the«good/recommended» BBQ joints all over KC and this one comes out on top every time. Super consistent with their meats, great flavor, plethora of sauce choices, multiple side options and dishes. It’s a win-win. I have had most of their meets, burnt ends(best in the city hands down), ribs, ham, turkey, pulled pork. All of their meats rock my world. As do their sides-their beans are at the top of my list as well. Although Joe’s and Crazy Good Eats beans may be a tad better. Their ribs fall off the bone, I realize everyone thinks Joes and other places do as well but the last few times we had Joes ribs(our 2nd fav BBQ) they were tough. They offer a loyalty type program, you get a punch for every visit after a certain # of visits you get a free sandwich. If you join their email club you get a free sandwich and other surprises(I just received a $ 10 off coupon!) They have daily specials(Fridays are $ 1 beers) I think these change periodically so I am not going to write them all down. When you walk in you are greeted with 3 vertical TV’s that display menu items. They have these things called«BBQ bowls» OMGSH yum! I can’t eat the cornbread but the rest if a great way to try multiple meats and sides. You then go to a counter, order, she/he hands you a receipt of sorts and you walk down to pay at a separate cashier. Just like Joe’s really. They are knowledgeable on GF and I have never gotten sick from eating here.

This was my first time eating here. In a city full of BBQ options, it’s easy to get in a rut and stick with the places that get a lot of hype. I’m glad that I ventured out of my comfort zone and found this gem of a restaurant in Overland Park. Burnt End BBQ is a fast casual joint with an easy going feel about it. The décor is a bit rustic and a bit modern. It’s clean, well lit and spacious. People aren’t stacked on top of each other, even at full capacity. On my maiden voyage, I chose to go with a 2 meat, 2 side bowl that consisted of Burnt ends, Competition sliced brisket, corn bread, fries and Mac-N-Cheese. Sooooo much food for around $ 10 bucks! The sides were delightful. The corn bread wasn’t dry. The brisket had a real nice smoke ring with just enough bark and moistness to appease the most discerning palate. The true star of the show was the Burnt Ends. They were absolutely the best I’ve had in KC. They were very soft, moist and extremely flavorful! The sauces were great too, however I found that I didn’t need them on any of the meats and only used them with my French fries. Two sauces really stood out for me. I couldn’t get enough of the Thick n Bold or the Fire Sauces. The entire time I was eating, I kept thinking to myself«Why aren’t more people talking about this place?» To recap: Clean, comfortable, service with a smile, great meat, extremely good value for your hard earned dollar. To the entire staff at Burnt End BBQ: I look forward to many more trips in the future. Thank you for the extremely helpful and extremely pleasant service. Nice work folks!

I love this place. I usually do take out, 2 meat platter with two sides and get the burnt ends and burnt ends(did I mention the burnt ends are awesome?) With pit beans and fries. The size of the sides are on the light side, but the portion of meat is generous– I’ve had plenty for lunch the following day. Service has always been quick. Make sure to ask for extra sauce.

Apparently I sent my husband to order a sandwich that was no longer on the menu. I wanted the Smokehouse Ruben with turkey instead of brisket. They were kind enough to still make the sandwich but, I guess there was no rye? So, Texas toast was used instead. Initially, I thought, bummer! In the end, I enjoyed it. Turkey was flavorful and moist. The sandwich was very filling but, the cheesy corn was a little blah. Great lunch spot if you arrive before noon. We were out in 30 minutes! Although they were busy, the staff didn’t miss a beat on their customer service.

This was during restaurant week 2016. I came here around 11:45am on a Saturday and there was a short line. Parking was plentiful and there shouldn’t be issues with finding parking when it wasn’t so cold. There was a door that read«In» and another that read«Out» once you go through the main doors. After that, there were three large flat screen TVs on the right side of the wall that displayed the menu. I ordered from the restaurant week menu which was a half slab of baby back ribs, two sides, and a beverage. I chose the hickory pit beans and the cheesy corn as my sides. In addition, I ordered a half pound of burnt ends($ 8.49). I paid on the other side where the soda machines were. There was a lot of tables still available so I sat at one of the high tables near the window. The burnt ends came out first then the half slab of baby back ribs. The half slab of baby back ribs were just okay to me. A big part of it was so charred that I didn’t bother eating it. The cheesy corn and hickory pit beans were both good. The burnt ends were not really moist to me and some pieces were more fatty than others. There were three different sauces on the table: Traditional Thick N Bold Sauce, Sweet Honey Glaze, and Spicy Southwest Sauce. I tried each one with the burnt ends. The Traditional Thick N Bold Sauce tasted sweeter to me than the Sweet Honey Glaze. The Spicy Southwest Sauce had a little spice on it, but I didn’t think everything in the sauce was blended well with each other. I thought this place was just okay for BBQ.

Traveler here, found this place on Unilocal, had to try it. Got the pick 2 platter with 2 sides. The burnt ends(of course, it’s the name on the frickin building, gotta have that) and the ribs. Nice portions, looks moist, and nicely marbled for ends. Moist is right, they are amazing. The ribs, well after that last bit of bbq end heaven, seemed a bit dry. The sauce helped it enough to enjoy. Sauces…I tried 3. The Carolina honey, original, and their fire bbq. The fine had great heat, but the flavor of the meat was lost under the spices. The Carolina honey was a sweet sauce, not tooo sweet, but sweet…(uh yea)…my favorite was their original, perfect balance for the Q. I can’t not mention the Cheesy Corn… good enough to want to smear some in my hair… really, get the corn.

I had heard good things about this BBQ place, so stopped by for a late lunch. I got the burnt end and pulled pork platter with the cheese grits and the corn bake. The grits and corn bake were really good. The meat was really good as well, but the«burnt ends» were not what I really think of as burnt ends, just meat that had been cubed and slightly charred. A little off-putting for a place called the burnt end. The pork was tender. I also enjoyed the variety of sauces – all very tasty and plentiful. You order at the counter and then the food is delivered; the casual environment is comfortable and fitting with the BBQ.

I ate at the Burnt End BBQ in September while out was out in Overland Park. I like the concept and layout of this restaurant… more of a hybrid dive/restaurant. They have tons of items on the menu which would help the pickiest eaters find someone to dine on. I went with the a specialty sandwich…“The Chop”. This sandwich was excellent in taste and abundant with a variety of meat. All the meat was moist and delicious… I added one of their sauces which they had 5 to 6 to offer. Overall great experience and awesome food. would I return? I most certainly would… in a heartbeat

I’ve tried many BBQ places in Kansas City, and frankly I’ve yet to find good BBQ. Oklahoma Joe’s has dry brisket, despite going there at least five times. Fiorella’s doesn’t have much flavor, and Gates’ sausage is like solidified vomit. But this BBQ joint? FANTASTIC! I have FINALLY found the right BBQ place. Unlike Smokin’ Guns, the burnt ends here are so flavorful and moist that they melt in your mouth. Add the stringed fried onions in a burnt end bowl, and you’ve got a match made in heaven. I decided to add some sides as well. If there’s any downfall, know that the sides are TINY. The individual portion is basically only five bites at the most. However, when the lady asked if I wanted creamy or spicy coleslaw, I asked if I could do half and half. The guy behind the counter said that he couldn’t do that, so he just gave me an extra side for free, yay! If I had to pick, I definitely would eat the creamy coleslaw next time. The spicy coleslaw was just a bunch of black pepper and was too sour, as if the coleslaw had gone bad. The mac and cheese was creamy and full of great, cheesy liquid. I definitely will ask for a bigger side portion next time. Add a craft root beer, and my total was about $ 20. I will definitely return!

Pretty awesome barbecue! Their bowls are the way to go. They have a few on the menu, and the«build your own» bowl lets you choose two meats and two sides to be put in a bowl with cornbread. The bowls are perfect for people, like me, who prefer to get more than one thing in each bite. Tip — in my opinion, it’s plenty to share, especially with an additional side. The burnt ends are great, and I love the pulled pork. There’s also a special every weekday, typically a sandwich with fries I think. It would make a great lunch deal! Finally, from what I’ve seen, the employees have been super nice/helpful. They gave suggestions and answered questions. I even spoke to a manager for a few minutes. He was out on the floor, talking to people, clearing plates, and wiping tables. I love when managers are team players in their restaurants, so that was a bonus for me!
