Caribou is the Starbucks of Minnesota. Although there are still Starbucks in the state, Caribou is by far more popular due to their great service, drinks, and food. This caribou had a cozy fireplace to warm up to from the brisk winters Minnesota has. The employees here always have a smile and enjoy talking to the customers. Come here to catch up with an old friend, do some homework, or just get you caffeine fix.

This is a coffee shop with a Brueggers Bagel shop in it. I have come here about 5 times, and each time I order food — a bagel sandwich or panini, there is some drama and problem(s). You have about a 30% chance of the staff getting your food order correct, either ordering the food or making it. It really is a shame because Brueggers has great sandwiches! When you order your food, the staff are confused on the options and what you can order(I find it ironic the cashier is right under the menu board with all the options for food). More than once the staff has said something odd like«Oh, an iced tea doesn’t usually come with a sandwich combo» or «I know its lunchtime, but we are out of panini bread». Huh? Yes, very unusual for someone to want an iced tea with lunch, or a panini sandwich for lunch at 11:30am. There are multiple staff working, but there is always a long line at the register and all you get is the runaround. Why? When you try to order bagels/food, they look lost… I mean, your menu board says you can have a deli sandwich. I wanted a Roast Beef and cheese sandwich on a bagel… how hard is that? Nope. They gave me some panini sandwich. So you are out of paninis when I want one, but give me one when I want a bagel sandwich? I guarantee that they will be something wrong with your order… it just keeps happening. I tried to give this place a shot, but it has been open for months, and this is just not a good food experience. There must be too many buttons on the register, as the staff cannot figure this thing out for food orders. To net this out, this is a good coffee shop, with a bad Brueggers integration. Go for the coffee. Don’t try to eat here.

I like Caribou Coffee. The northern lights vanilla white chocolate mocha is delicious and not nearly as fattening as it tastes. As far as service, I’ve only been to this location twice so far, but both times I’ve received friendly, fast, and accurate service. I’m also excited because Caribou Coffee finally has a rewards program.

This is my favorite Maple Grove coffee shop. Friendly staff, good product, lots of seating. Free WiFi. The thing that sets it apart from the other Caribous in the area is the décor: it feels very northwoodsy, which I think is great. Tapping on a computer is that much better when done next to a fireplace and surrounded by large timbers.

Yes, I know it’s part of a chain, but you can’t beat the free wi-fi and good coffee. No time limit that I know of, and while searching for a job on the Internet, no one gives you a hassle…
