Jake’s Burgers & More

The food here is great and staff is nice. It has been one of my favorite places since I was a kid. The burgers and fries always taste great, I’ve never had a bad experience here. Great food, service and prices.

Jakes Burgers is my favorite restaurant in Oroville! The burgers are always juicy and perfectly cooked to order. The seasoning blend is great. The secret sauce is one of my favorite parts… I don’t know how many times I’ve seen people try to imitate it, but Jakes is the best! If you’re looking for delicious food, friendly staff, and a family friendly environment eat here!

I’m a big fan of the Jake’s Western, its about as tasty of a BBQ style burger you’ll ever have.
The hidden gem at Jake’s is the breakfast, its the best in town. The breakfast burritos are excellent and can be made many different ways to suit your taste.

I have been eating here for 20 years and I still love it! The owners are awesome people and the staff is always sooooo nice! This is my son and mines fav place for burgers… secret sauce is amazing!

Good burger combos. Only one in town that is on par with The Boss Burger. Parking lot sucks. Sparse decorations seem to be in need of updating.

Chicken fried steak heaven. I stopped in for an early breakfast and saw that they had a chicken fried steak breakfast burrito. That’s awesome, who does that. I’ll will be back for sure!!!

We LOVE the food owners and employees! awesome food at a great price. We eat here and recommend Jakes for those whom want chicken grilled sandwich to the BIG bad jake and garlic fries YUMMY!!!

Gosh they have great burgers, excellent french fries, what a great place! I had a very nice lunch today and this burger was a 10 times better than the burger I had at Miner’s Alley recently, which was quite dry meat :(
The first thing I noticed upon walking in was that they open 630 am! Yikes! I had no clue they offer breakfast here and their menu had some good choices, like breakfast burritos :) They had several people working in the kitchen and a very nice friendly girl took my order! I went ahead with the daily special because it was my first visit. You get Mushroom burger, Fries and a fountain soda for $ 9.25
I like spicy, so added Pepperjack cheese for my burger and a side of Jalapeños. She asked me if I wanted them raw or grilled, which was way cool to my surprise, I said I’ll try grilled please. I got my drink, and picked a table. They have a good amount of seating and the place was very clean. I noticed one girl wiping down tables and later a guy changed the trash. I must of come right after their lunch rush, but for such a young aged staff, they were working well. I really liked the fountain machine because it has a lot of different choices and I rarely drink sodas! They had great variety of sodas to choose from, but also fruit punch Gatorade, Lemonade, iced tea and coffee.
My burger was ready and you go pick it up at the counter when they call your name! They also have condiments like Ketchup, Chipotle ketchup, and Jake’s «special sauce». You just help yourself, plenty of tiny containers with little lids available, napkins, plastic ware, etc.
The burger looked great and my first bite tasted so damn delicious. The meat was cooked properly, juicy, and had such great flavor. Oh man, the meat made all the difference, mushrooms were nicely sautéed, all the toppings were great and the bun was ok (sesame style, not toasted, so it was kind of soft). The fries were great, but I could not finish them, they gave me a lot! As for the jalapeños, I couldn’t believe the side only cost 99 cents, such a generous portion and I really appreciate that! They tasted excellent grilled and I would definitely order again, but no way I could eat all those in one sitting.
I felt very satisfied from my lunch, very full too. I would say it’s definitely worth all the calories and price. Hands down my favorite burgers in Chico are Nobbys and Burger Hut, but in Oroville it might as well be Jake’s and Righteous Burger :) Thank you for the great lunch, definitely plan on returning… The easiest way to find the place is know that it’s located near Papa Murphys and Papacitos!

Burgers are very good, fries and secret sauce are excellent. Service is very good. Priced a little high, and charge extra for everything. Overall is pretty good.

Wtf. That’s all I can say about this place. $ 3.50 for 7 shitty pieces of zucchini the size of my finger. «Garlic fries» means inedible raw garlic on top of fries?
Who the hell eats raw garlic? Every single other place that i know of throws garlic on a flat top for a few seconds at least… but raw?
Burger was ok. Fries were good except for the garlic on top. Zucchini should have been 99 cents.

The star of this restaurant is its secret sauce.
The décor is a little dated and dingy. It looks like a diner that was passed it’s heyday. The walls are very 50’s tchotchke. Pictures of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and vintage cars interspersed with ads for local businesses.
We ordered the BBQ bacon burger with garlic fries and a sourdough melt with onion rings with the intention of sharing. The garlic fries were basic seasoned fries topped with raw garlic and a bit of parsley. A few minutes on the grill would have vastly improved the garlic fries, as they had quite the bite. Dipping them in the secret sauce helped alot. The onion rings were whole rings that were breaded. I felt they had a burger King-​esque feel but my fiancé disagreed. He said he like them… but passed most to me.
We switched out the Swiss on the melt for cheddar and we’re pleasantly suprised. I would have preferred the carmelzed onions to be in rings rather than diced (takes longer so creates better flavor IMHO) but I understand the need for fast turn over.
The BBQ bacon burger was ok. It had to large pieces of bacon but «the works» drowned out all other flavor including the BBQ sauce.
At $ 19 and change for two people, I felt the food was a little over priced for what it was. Especially considering they had a one refill only sign on their soda machine. I might come back for the baby jack special ($ 1.49 on weds and sundays) and fries just as a vehicle for the special sauce.
If they bottled the sauce I would buy it.

Best burgers Ive ever had. special sauce is a must try! I like to dip my fries in it… this is a small, casual but yummy place…

They have the best melt in your mouth burgers. Well worth a try. I like the fries and the onion rings as well. The portions are huge so come hungry.

This place was nice, the wait was a little long for a take out order I had to wait 23 minutes and their was no one in front of me lol but the girls were all nice so love this place!

25 min wait for a takeout order. Staff was not friendly. The food is what you’d expect, satisfing when grease is what you’re after.

I went to this place for first time. First impression is very important to their business. So my experience there was awesome. Service is great. Looks of restaurant is very vintage and old style. People was very friendly and considerate.
Especially when I am deaf and they still being friendly. I felt welcomed.
The food was so good! We had their special burgers with everything. O yum! It’s great for a date or get together. Def recommend this place. It hack burger, tons meats and stuff that you will love. They also have specials on what day it’s.

BBQ bacon cheese burger was killer! Fries were so so. Staff was rad, super nice and food was done as quick as it takes to make a real burger haha. I’ll be going back for sure.

Had the BBQ bacon burger and strawberry shake. Delish!!! Burger was cooked perfect and everything tasted fresh.

The food is good but not great. the kitchen is dirty and the furnishings are run down. it has the makings of a great place but its showing its age
