Mike’s Grande Burgers

If it’s a step above fast food it’s a small step.
The seating is highly uncomfortable to start with but the décor is nice and makes you feel as if you’re in a good local spot.
The food however is pretty bad. The burgers Coke out dry and the the only good topping is the pickles. The bun is the basic dry sesame bun. The bacon is a good and is peppered which adds good flavor. The Asada fries are terrible. They put a very small amount of fries in comparison to the amount of lackluster toppings.
Overall I would skip this and go next door to Shakey’s.

$ 40 got us 2 12oz sodas, a mediocre burger with a smashed bun and waaaaaay over cooked bacon, a small order of fries, I taco and 2 tiny shakes. The service was unfriendly at best. The bar area looks cool. Maybe that’s a draw cuz the food was a big disappointment

Just moved here 6 weeks ago but have eaten here 4 times. my family loves this place… pulled pork sandwich is amazing. Love shrimp tacos… Full bar is fantastic great service! Are favorite spot!

Love the food and the margarita on the rocks is the best. Hate how long it takes for the food sometimes but totally worth it.

I wish I could review a zero, BC I called at 9:20 PM and asked about closing time, as this was my first visit. The girl said 10 PM. My husband, friend, aand I drove to the restaurant, where it only took 8 mins. The sign said closed and a waitress gave us a nasty look as we approached the door. I called to be sure and the man who answered rudely told me they closed at 9:15pm. I have attached a photo of the times listed online for this establishment! I have never felt so unappreciated and undermined! Never ever will we return. Even just to try it. NEVER EVER!!!

Everything about this place is great. Their burgers taste good as well as their Mexican food. Everybody’s always nice and helpful.

Just received the worst customer service tonight at Mikes Grande! Tired and exhausted from a long day took my kids through the drive thru to get dinner. I’m a total believer in supporting local businesses and mom-​pop shops. My daughter wanted the quesadilla kids meal but wanted chicken on it. They told me no, that I would have to order the adult chicken quesadilla minus a ton of other stuff and order full sides separately, adding that they are huge. I explained it was for a child and I didn’t want that much food and I not understanding why they just are not able to charge me for chicken and add it to the quesadilla. Rudely the girl state «well we don’t do that». I decided I didn’t want to order any food from there then because honestly it’s ridiculous, but thanks to the way their drive thru is set up I was unable to leave until the two cars in front reviewed their orders. TWO cars in front of mine and I waited for OVER an hour just to be able to leave! When I did get up to the window I decided I wanted to speak to the owners, they weren’t there so another lady came over and was so rude saying that they just don’t do that. I asked why though? They said because it’s not cost effective to them! Really?! I wanted to pay extra for the stinken chicken! I just wanted my daughter to have a meal she would eat. My daughter was so upset by how rude they were she refused to eat dinner tonight! My younger daughter fell a sleep in the car waiting for so long that she missed dinner as well! With their outrageous prices and outrageous wait times, and now adding poor customer service my family will never support their business again. There are many other places in town, owned by nice people who deserve the business

Don’t put your baby on the changing table unless you double check it hasn’t just been cleaned with bleach. My son now has bleach all over him because they failed to notify me of this

Bad service and rude people won’t go again. Been three times and had the same BAD customer service every time. Won’t go again

Those taco sliders are so good! Of course the burgers are good & they’re very friendly! An Oroville classic.

Stopped here for the first time… that was the best burger I’ve ever eaten! We will definitely make sure we eat here when driving through Oroville. Delicious, fresh salsa too! Can’t wait to try other items on the menu!
Homey atmosphere with football on the TV and checkers on the table. Cool place.

Don’t ever ever ever go through their drive thru. They basically take your order and forget that you are there. Food is greatly over priced for what it is. Save your money and run far away. If you must stop, go to Shakeys next door. Mojo’s and pizza still rock after 40 years.

We ate here maybe 10 years ago and the food was literally so bad, we dropped it into the bin and ate elsewhere. Neither of us realized this was the same place until we got up to the register to place our order. Always willing to give a place a second chance after such a long period of time had passed, we ordered anyway. The staff said the place has had the same owner for 34 years, and we began to suspect we had made a mistake. We got the «pulled pork taco» and also the chicken strips and lemonade and french fries. The «pulled pork taco» had a puddle of grease underneath it. The pulled pork was tasteless and liquidy, probably cooked in a slow cooker as opposed to being BBQ’d. The corn tortilla was properly warmed but was also greasy. The chicken strips (chicken breast battered and deep-​fried) were overdressed with batter and dry (overcooked chicken) and may have been warmed up as opposed to deep-​fried to order. The lemonade is hand-​squeezed to order (I watched them make it) and was spectacular, the acid perfectly balanced with sweet.
However, it was very off-​putting in that apparently the place becomes a bar in the evening and the servers coming on duty gathered round a nearby table and were eating and drinking and carrying on. Not a family-​oriented atmosphere at all. More bar-​oriented.

The only thing that saves this place is the food. The rude employees and unbelievably slow service make you embarrassed to admit you gave them money.

I’ve been coming here for years, great local homemade food! (Hard to get in O-​Town!) I had the pork butt taco — awesome flavor and juicy. So much pork that I could have hade 3 tacos out of 1! I’m not complaining :-) My wife’s carne asada tostada was over the top good. The burgers are excellent too! Odd to say, but it is the best Mexican food in town!!!

Used to come here all the time until tonight. a bug crawled out of our French fries. the big lady running the register asked if we wanted them to remake them, and we said yes to not be rude, and 20 minutes later, after we’ve been finished with our food, my wife tells them we’d like our money back and instead of half decent customer service the big lady says we’ll be two French fries down, and refused to give us our money back. Just thought I’d share with anyone that go’s to this restraint.

Friendly service. Great food. Lots to choose from, they have tacos and burgers and good onion rings. My favorite is the korn burritos. A little pricy and sometimes a bit of a wait but you can play the checkers games so it’s ok with me.

Lots more to offer than burgers, we had Mexican food and it was outstanding. The Chili Verde burrito was thick with chunky, tender meat and plenty of cheese. No rice and beans to dilute the verde’s succulent flavor. A free chili sample convince us to order a bowl, spicy and an excellent balance of beans to shredded meat. Our favorite was the grilled fish tacos, however. Lots of shredded veg on top with plenty of savory fish. We added an order of guacamole and had a world-​class meal for under $ 30.
I don’t know how Mike got all these recipes but the taco Tuesday tacos are cheap and so popular the wait for drive thru on Tuesday is long so I don’t indulge often.
