Newer addition to the Mills District, this craft bar has a great mix of options for drinks. It’s always busy here, so finding a seat can be a struggle, as it’s first come, first serve on seating arrangements. We had to hover over a table that as wrapping up in order to get a table to sit. Our server came over in a short amount of time, and we ordered both food and drinks. They do have wine options, for those that are interested, like myself. The food was just okay — and was the real downer of the whole experience. The tater tots were soggy and the pretzel pizza was way, way too salty for us. Overall: B The vibe is open and welcoming, and I think we’d come back for drinks, but not food.

What a terrible experience; we will not be back. Horrible service, horrible food, they gave us a check with the wrong prices on it(not happy hour pricing) and acted like it was such a huge inconvenience to change their mistake. The beer was of course decent but there are way better bars very close by. Overall so disappointing.

I wish this place would be my «spot». Great seating options and good beer but it’s unreliable for my sports watching needs. Some nights they are slow and close early which isn’t good when I’m trying to watch a Westcoast nba playoff game. They also scaled back their food menu a lot.(food was actually really good when they first opened) Still a good option for groups or to grab a beer but just not the sports bar panacea I was hoping for. I still have to endure the cigarette smoke at hideaway to watch playoff basketball

Great bar for enjoying a cold brew after work! I met with a friend & shared the Pretzel n cheese. So tasty for any cheese lover. Beer is great craft brews that rotate on occasion. They let you try before you buy like WOB. I came back to find they had my fave Belgian triple– LA fin du monde! Tried the Sriracha bacon & it was a little too much for me but if you like spice, go for it!

Nice beer selection! Really chill atmosphere! A friend and I came here after a comedy show and had a couple beers. Really enjoyed our bartender who was polite and helpful with selections of beer. I enjoyed the laid back environment. We will both be back again in the future as its close to where we live. Next time I would like to eat something of the menu, did not eat this time as the kitchen was closed due to time of arrival.

What’s not to love about a bar playing Pimp My Ride and Minor League Hockey on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Backwards hat guy, I think his name was Hal, was deeply knowledgeable about the fine art drinking beer. He put up with my haughty remarks about the buzzword-laden beer culture. He laughed when I asked for ice in my IPA and seemed genuinely concerned when I joked about having a gluten allergy after finishing my first beer. The selection was replete with beer from all over the globe and the glasses were crystal clear. Over all, the ambiance was nice, and despite finding a beard hair in my beer(my own), I managed to have a pleasant and repeatable experience.

4 Stars for a beer bar with lots of fun event nights and local partnerships and decent food. First off, I love a bar that makes you want to sit outside. They have a great indoor/outdoor feel that makes you excited to be in Florida. Last time I was there they had a few tents up from a local running shop because they had a fun 5k partnership that evening. There were also a bunch of people playing cornhole outside on the lawn. It just has a really fun atmosphere. They have a good selection of drinks(I’m not super knowledgable about beer, but they have tap takeovers by some awesome FL beer breweries). I also appreciate their menu– with interesting options that still have a bar food feel, but elevated. I ordered the loaded tater tots and got to try the Mac and cheese too. Both were what you look for in bar food– very salty, and irresistible. I can’t wait to try their tacos! The service has been good and attentive most of the time, but in busy nights it’s a bit spotty. Nothing that would turn me off though. Overall, a good happy hour spot– particularly on a beautiful Florida day!

I met some friends from law school here the other night. The location is very convenient to downtown and the open air set up is really pretty and probably pretty nice most of the year, but it was quite cold the night we were there. They had heaters, but they never turned any of the ones near us on. The downsides: Parking. I had trouble finding parking on a Thursday night at 6 and ended up essentially parking in the dirt. I don’t like that. Wine: This is a beer place(duh!), but what if you are like me and want to meet your beer drinking friends? They had maybe 6 – 8 wines to choose from, but 2 pages of beer. So to say I was disappointed with the selection of wine available to me would be an understatement. Open Air — It looks pretty and might be nice on some nights, but I’m thinking that just as it was cold the night I went it would be really hot in the summer. The upsides: The food was shockingly good. I was not expecting anything. The menu is rather short and simple, but everything we ate was really good. I particularly enjoyed the pretzel with beer cheese and the buffalo chicken dip. We also had a sausage platter which wasn’t bad and tacos. Verdict: Would I come back? Yes, probably, but there are so many other great places in the Mills 50 area that I would not likely go back to this location. There are too many amazing places to eat here.

I’ve been wanting to go here for awhile. We decided to come here for Happy Hour. The open patio seating for this Florida Winter is great. They had $ 4 beers and wines(depicted with a pint glass) and $ 6 appetizers. The service was friendly and attentive. I had a Blood Orange Gose which was a good sour. It was a refreshing and light taste that makes you pucker slightly. Also, I had the house Cabernet Sav. Plain and simple. My husband had the Angry Chair Red Riddance. He thought it had that nice Christmasy taste from cinnamon and vanilla in it. We tried the sausage sampler accompanied by 2 sauces to try. It came with 3 different types of sausage, a sweet kind, mild and one spicy. My husband found them tasty, but they were at best ok with me. I’d come back to try something new. The atmosphere was nice for a Friday. I would like to try their Sunday brunch!

I’ve been here quite a few times so my review is overdue! Nestled in the a newer and growing plaza in the hip and thriving Vimi /Mills District, this bar has a great location. Comfortable porch area facing Mills with lounge seats, bar tops and tables. A great place for a lazy Sunday or just a nice afternoon to enjoy. One concern for us, having a child, is bringing her to a kid friendly place where she wont dusturb the peace. You often see parents with kids here! The service I always found to be quick and attentive, I’ve asked for beer suggestions and they always are quick to offer. The draft menu is usually at least 30 brews big as is their bottle menu as well. Cider and wine also covered. They also have some yummy bites. Pretty simple food menu– tacos, pizzas and appetizers mainly. I tried the pretzel pizza with pepperoni and sweet peppers and was quite happy, but let’s be frank– I come for the beer here! If you want a comfortable, modern and chill spot to relax at try here! It’s one of my faves!

I love this place. They constantly have craft beers rotating and they always have a great selection. It’s my favorite place to watch football and they have trivia on Wednesdays. The staff is usually on point and their food is amazing. Try the nachos for sure!

Good selection of craft beers. Love that they have local beers on tap pretty much all the time. Good happy hour specials and $ 2 tacos on Tuesdays. Love that you can sit outside and watch sports. On the downside, a small indoor space does present some problems during the rainy season. Their outdoor space is covered but if its a downpour that takes a lot of their tables out of commission.

There are so many great local beer bars around that it took me a while to get out to this chain bar. I figured there just wasn’t a reason to go when Redlight Redlight and Thirsty Topher are so close. But, this place has a great indoor/outdoor setup and several tvs. I’m always looking for more outdoor seating and this place has it. Plus Brass Tap coordinates my two loves: good beer and watching sports. It’s hard to find both, and this place doesn’t feel like a sports bar, which is nice. The food was pretty ok. They have several pretzel options including mustards or beer cheese. We also had the fish tacos. The fish was great, not frozen fish sticks or anything, but it’s covered in «aioli,» which really just tasted like spicy ranch dressing. I’d definitely recommend getting it on the side until you know whether it’s your thing. The only downsides were the price — everything was a buck more than I felt comfortable spending, so that’ll make it a rarity — and the service, which was pretty terrible. I met friends who had been eating and drinking there for a while. The table was covered in empty glasses and plates with no server to be seen. So I took a couple of handfuls of dishes to the bar to set them down and order a drink. I think they thought I worked there because they looked at me, said thanks, and then walked off. I had to flag them back just to order a beer! Hopefully this was a fluke, but it was really hard to tell if we had a designated server or if they work all the tables together. I like teamwork, but I don’t like flagging down and bothering a person that’s not my server, so I just wish it was more clear. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy some beer and the outdoor seating.

Not a whole lot to say about Brass Tap, it’s a pretty standard craft beer bar. It’s the kind of craft beer bar that I would have been a regular at a decade ago, but there are so many options these days… When it’s not too busy, it can be a nice place to relax for a beer. The selection is good, and the staff seemed friendly enough, although it seems we were quickly forgotten at an outdoor table after we ordered our first drink. So, subsequent drinks were ordered at the bar.

It was tough deciding between 4 and 5 stars, all I know is that I would definitely return. A friend and I came to watch the Dodgers game(Baseball is the only sport I really enjoy watching) and we sat back in one of their cozy outdoor sofas and had a great time drinking beer and watching the game. My friend ordered food and liked the chicken tacos. We received excellent service from the wait staff, and they helped us sample and select beer that we weren’t familiar with. You should also know that every month they feature certain kinds of beer and those end up having a special price of $ 4.50 a pint.

We visited on a Saturday around 6pm and two of us were able to easily get a seat at the bar. It’s not a huge bar area, but does have plenty of seating inside and outside as well. We were greeted by the bartender immediately and given a menu for food and one for beer. Both of us chose to get flights(4 choices for $ 10) as there were a number of beers we hadn’t tried before. We received our orders pretty quickly and spent the next hour or so tasting away. The atmosphere is relaxed, the music there in the background to enjoy and not so loud that you can’t hear yourself talking over it. There was a lot of indie music on while we were there. Several TV’s showing the different games that were going on as well. The parking lot wasn’t the best, it was easy to find a space, but it looks like a work in progress, not The Brass Tap’s fault or anything. We would definitely visit again! I saw signs that they have Trivia one night a week and some other events as well. I’ll be following on Facebook to see what beer events come up.

I went here with a large group. There was a waitress in charge of all of our drinks. She did a very good job with efficiency and making sure everyone who wanted a drink had one. I didn’t have to wait long for mine. The patio area is nice. There’s lounge type chairs to hang out. Good beer selection.

This was my first time at the Brass Tap. I didn’t make for Happy Hour but I did see that they had some good specials displayed on a board. It’s open seating which is always great. We tried the buffalo chicken dip and the artichoke spinach dip. Both were good but I think the buffalo chicken dip was the best out of the two. I had a house sangria and it was also good. You can tell the place is new as the service was really good. Our waitress checked on us a couple of times and did a great job. Another thing that i thought was neat is that you can bring your pets. I will have to come back for happy hour with my dog.

I’m not a beer drinker but I can appreciate a good place to congregate for Happy Hour. We came here for the first time on a Friday. The place was packed and only seating available was on the patio and of course it happened to be rather chilly(by Florida standards). The heat lamps saved the day! They had Happy Hour pricing on select beers and of course my pricey imported cider was not included. That’s ok though– happy they had it! We all ordered items off the Happy Hour menu and regular menu for those a little more famished. Between my husband and I we had the chicken quesadillas, pepperoni and peppadew pretzel pizza and baked pretzels with pale ale chipotle mustard. Everything was good and your basic bar fare. I really enjoyed the pretzels and mustard– probably my favorite when I feel like carbing it up! If you feel like being a little healthy there are a couple of salads on the menu. For the most part, this place is hoppin and a must if you’re a beer drinker’! Music was blasting, there were TV’s all over the restaurant airing the NBA All star game. I think it may be a bit tricky to seat a large group during a prime night like Friday– might be worth the trouble to give the restaurant a call ahead of time to see if they could accommodate. Service was ok. We had to flag our server a few times to get a refill of water for my husband along with silverware. She was definitely there if you wanted to order beer though so that kinda irked me. Overall, a good time and I’m sure I’ll be back with friends!

Fun new beer bar in Mills Park with a wide variety of craft beers on tap, as well as in the bottle.(Small wine list too, for the non-beer drinkers.) There is indoor and outdoor seating, and heaters on the patio, as well as a TVs that would make this a good place to catch a game. I like trying new beers so I quizzed the bartender for a recommendation and they came back with the Victory Golden Monkey, a fruity and slightly spicy Belgian triple that was right on the mark. If you’re not a regular beer drinker do note the ABV of your selection on the menu — many are higher-alcohol(mine was 9.5%). The menu skews toward heavier food that should help to counterbalance this, like prime rib/buffalo chicken nachos, pretzel pizzas, sausages, etc — though we only tried a pretzel so I won’t review the food. I think this will be a popular neighborhood hangout.
