Restaurant is large and comes across a bit kitschy. If it’s not full of people it feels like a warehouse. It’s hot and miss with food. The BBQ pizza was a hit but the poor boy was a miss.

Food is outstanding, beer is cold. Try the waffle Fries. Bartendar Scott is great. Most bands are very good. Sit outside to people watch!

I’m a local that will not be revisiting this establishment. After waiting for an awkward amount of time at the hostess stand to be seated, it took another patron who saw us to get the bartenders attention that we were there. I would ordinarily say that the fact that the bartender was also both the host, food runner, & waitress was part of the problem but the entire time we stood there waiting she was leaning against the bar looking up @ the t.v. She was perfectly friendly but it was very obvious that it pained her to do so. Other then the patron sitting @ the bar it was completely empty which was odd for a place that served brunch right in the middle of brunch hours. They hand a live band that was pretty good. However, after each song they would sarcastically say thank you if we didn’t applause. Again we were the only table & we’re now awkwardly clapping after each song out of obligation. It was awkward & embarrassing. I couldn’t wait to get the hell out of here. The food… Blah. We all had brunch menu items, my husband & I both had the original eggs Benedict. The eggs were well done, call me picky but no matter how good everything else is while eating a Benedict, this ruins it. Unfortunately, everything else was not perfect. The hollandaise was definitely NOT made in house, I’m guessing a mix or perhaps canned. The hash browns were not browned. Just soggy tasteless potato strings. My son got the breakfast platter with the same tasteless hash«browns», he said the sausage was good as well as the scrambled eggs. The biscuit on his plate was more like a brick… A very dry & dense brick. This place seems to thrive on there private events which keeps them closed to the public 40−50% of the time. It’s probably the way they will survive long term & is also probably a favor to the public.

Waited forever to be seated. Never happened. Looks like a fun place with a good menu but I witnessed at least four tables worth of customers who walked instead of waiting. Ignored. Front of house failure. Went one door down. Empty tables remained empty this Saturday night

Very mixed feelings. Really wanted to love this place but was very inconsistent. Staff was very friendly. Our server was very sweet but not very knowledgeable on the menu. Hadn’t tried a couple of the items I asked about, only said they looked good. We had a large party for a birthday dinner and food came out in three different groups with the last person getting their food 10 mins after the first person got theirs when we all ordered at the same time. Those who’s food came out first had gotten cold waiting. I also asked for my sauce on the side but they put on sandwich and put it on the side for the other person who got a sandwich which he didn’t ask. So that was a total mix up. Also put wrong items on checks. Food quality was mixed as well. Crawfish pizza VERY disappointing. Sounded good but totally lacked flavor. My mahi po boy was just ok. Nothing special(too much sauce made the bread soggy which is why I had asked for it on the side but that didn’t happen). Boyfriends shrimp and grits was the only item that stood out. It was very good. Was hoping to find a new regular stop tonight which sadly didn’t happen tonight

First off let me say the food was AMAZING! We wanted to try something we have never had before and when viewing the menu outside we were immediately intrigued by the selection available. We decided to dine on the outside«patio», The staff was very friendly and courteous but our waiter was Awesome! I normally don’t drink beer but it was St. Patrick’s Day and he talked me into getting a green Miller Light. We decided to go with Sweet Corn & Jalapeño Hushpuppies with sriracha aioli and pickles for our appetizer and they were to Die For! That sriracha aioli sauce was Ah-Ma-Zing! I wish they had it bottled so we could purchase it! For our entrées we decided on the Fried Shrimp Po Boys with seasoned fries, the shrimp were decent size and they were deep fried perfectly!

Touristy and a bit over priced. The burgers are good and served on a po boy type roll. The fries are good here as well. Just did not have any type of New Orleans feel from the menu or anything, so I did not try any of those types of dishes.

Well 2 stars for the friendly service and the interesting menu choices. Things started out OK as we had no reservations but were seated promptly. Service was good and our server was very helpful. Things went downhill when after waiting an extended period of time between our Apps and entrees our server came by and said he forgot what we ordered. AKA he did no submit our order. It would have been nice to hear besides sorry here’s a round(3 of us) on us or I’ll Comp your App. When our diner arrived mine did not appear. When my grilled Ahi tuna did arrive it was cold. Normally I would have asked to have it replaced but my dining companions were about ¾s through their dinner. I’m sure they will survive on the tourists and the convention attendees but we will never darken their doors again.

Stopped at Lafayette’s on the way to a movie at Pointe Orlando. I had previously looked it up on Unilocal and saw it got pretty good reviews so we decided to try it. The atmosphere is neat. Pretty industrial looking and the layout is open. There is outdoor seating available and multiple bars. There’s also a spot for live music. Since we were in a hurry we asked for all of our food to be ordered at the same time. Food delivery was pretty quick, which we appreciated. I’m a big fan of dips so we tried the crab dip for an appetizer. Crab dip was delicious. Loved the consistency and richness. However, the crostinis they served for dipping were dry and barely edible. I think they were actually stale before they toasted them. They were so chewy it made your mouth kind of sore to gnaw on them. I ordered Lafayette’s glazed salmon and BBQ shrimp, served over corn chowder. Very underwhelming for the $ 23 tag. Salmon was ok. Nothing special. The shrimp still had their tails, which normally I don’t mind but since they were in the corn chowder it made for a messy lunch. The corn chowder was not so much of a chowder but more canned corn dumped in a thick sauce. Not great. I loved the bbq flavor and wished it was incorporated more with the salmon and shrimp. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp po’boy. This was not a po’boy. It was a fried shrimp sandwich. The shrimp tails were left on! For a sandwich, this is not acceptable. The fries were standard. Our server was nice and pretty quick with requests. Glad we tried it based on reviews but will definitely not go back.

We came here before a movie and just ordered drinks, apps, and desert. Considering we were the only people in the entire place, service was quick until we ordered our dessert. The desert took half an hour to come out after we said we were ready for it. The Bennett we ordered was very dense and small instead of big light and fluffy. All the things we sampled were just ok and nothing really stood out as being amazing. On a positive note, i noticed another reviewer said if you have purchased movie tickets you get 15 percent off the check. We tried it and it worked!

I ate dinner here during a recent trip to Orlando. The set up of the restaurant is a little odd, one side is basically open(that was where the live band was playing) and the other side is more closed off(with a bar). We were sitting in the bar area but could still hear the music pretty loudly. I noticed other people mentioning it being chilly inside and I would second that. It wasn’t a super cold night but the layout of the restaurant meant even though we were just about as far back from the doors as possible, it was still a little cold. I had the ahi tuna and it was delicious. I typically prefer my tuna a little less cooked than this piece was(though I’d rather have it a little overcooked than under!) but I really liked the marinade. The rice that the tuna was served on top of was really tasty. I didn’t love the slaw on the top but it added a totally different level of flavor. It was very tangy but I mixed it with the rice a bit and that was good.

Fun spot! Outdoor seating with heat lamps for when it’s a little chilly, live music, multiple bars and ample seating. Corn hope boards outside which are always fun and bring people together in competition. Surrounded by lively locales open to foot traffic only. Go hang out, enjoy some tunes, good food and a couple drinks.

Great location, with wonderful service & a brunch menu that won’t disappoint. Prices are very reasonable & with live music, open patio & drink specials on a Sunday you can’t go wrong. We stumbled upon them when heading to another eatery that didn’t happen to be open til much later in the day. The waiter was friendly & helpful with suggestions on the menu & I never had an opportunity to be thirsty. Kudos!

Food: Southern, but not like mama fixes. Think trendy food-truck doing southern, with food-truck sized portions. My wife had the Ahi Tuna Salad and loved it. I ordered the Mac and Cheese with Blackened Chicken as an entrée. The blackening was very good, and the meal was delicious. The meal was very small, though, for the price. I ordered the cheddar cheese grits to follow it up. The grits were not good(from a grit lover’s perspective), but the honey pepper dipping sauce for them was fantastic and covered the grits’ flaws. I told you it wasn’t like mama’s… Drinks: A few good draught selections. I went with the Jai Alai as a local staple. The mixed drinks skew sweet. My wife had a Blueberry Fields, which she said was okay. Music: The live band(talented acoustic guitar player and a mellow, soulful alto female vocalist) were excellent. Their set list was borrowed from Casey Kasem, but they did some fresh takes on modern standards. Very enjoyable. Wish I Knew Ahead of Time: They do a 15% discount with a movie ticket stub from next door. Unfortunately, I didn’t know this and they didn’t mention it. If you do a movie and then a dinner, you’ll see it in the trailers of the movie. If you do dinner and then a movie like we did, you’ll get slightly frustrated when you see the trailer and mark reviews that mention it as useful so others are warned.

It’s about time Orlando had some authentic Cajun food. Pointe Orlando seems an unlikely location, and this upper deck location seems cursed, but so far Lafayette’s is doing a lot better than the former succession of tenants. The large space is divided into four dining areas that feature three bars. Live music is featured in the evenings, but if you don’t want it quite so loud it should be possible to sit a fair ways away from it. The menu features Cajun classics such a Po’Boy sandwiches and Jambalaya. Note, however, that they’ve applied a twist to some dishes. The Jambalaya, for example is made with angel hair pasta, which sounded awful to me. Fortunately our server, who was from Louisiana suggested getting it made with dirty rice inside. Great call! It was the best jambalaya I’ve had outside of New orleans. The food is pretty mild, so be sure to ask for that bottle of hot sauce if you like it spicy. There are also non-Cajun dishes such as chicken wings, but I wasn’t too impressed with them. The cheese grits, however, were delicious. There’s a decent selection of beers and some wine. Service was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. This place definitely is filling a much needed niche.

We love this area of Orlando, so many choices to eat out, have a drink, listen to live music, catch a comedy gig, dance… the list goes on! Located on International Dr. next to the«upside down house», it has a huge parking garage which can accommodate the traffic and lack of street parking. Lafayette definitely seemed different to the surrounding noisy places(a mexican place across from it, and BBKings a stones throw away). This Southern joint had a large outdoor bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a large bar inside and a speakeasy looking bar tucked away in the back. We sat at the indoor bar, planning to have drinks and a bite while listening to a wonderful soul singer at a keyboard. Since I wasn’t in a beer mood although they had a good selection of craft beer on tap, I opted for a mule, the options were vodka, tequila or whiskey, I went with the tequila. Ginger beer, tequila and a squirt of lime served over ice in a copper mule mug. It was refreshing, had to send it back once because there was a fly in it, but the bartender was so friendly and helpful. For a bite we found the appetizers to be pricey for a small quantity, since we wanted to share, we decided the the coal fired pizza was equal in price to the apps and enough for both of us. They had some interesting options, and we felt like going for something different so opted for the crawfish pizza. Tomato based paste, red onions, red peppers, crawfish, cheese and a drizzle of a spicy mayo-like dressing, felt like it had some Old Bay and chili peppers in it — so scrumptious! I was skeptical about the pairing but totally blow away. We finished up after devouring our pizza and downing a few drinks, the soul singer left and a band of older pop-rocker guys took the stage, that was our cue to leave, as they were not our style.

I’m so happy we stumbled across this place. We wee initially going to BB Kings but they weren’t open, so the hostess advised to go to their sister restaurant, because it’s similar. So we did. And I’m super happy we did. It was so good! And the waitress was excellent. Everything was delicious honestly. From the appetizers to the dessert. Even the water lol. And they serve your beverages in a plastic cup(unless its alcohol) so the waitress let us keep the cups and just snapped a lid on it. It was a great experience and I will be going back.

As a native Orlando resident it’s always nice to see average areas turn into something exceptional. While über-touristy, the countless I-Drive improvements are giving locals a reason to trek out to fanny pack central. New to I-Drive’s dining scene is Lafayette’s, located on the second level of Pointe Orlando. This Memphis-based restaurant has expanded outside of Tennessee, bringing their love of live music and Southern cooking to The Sunshine State. In this expansive space, music lovers will enjoy Southern fare while listening to a variety of Country, Rock and Roll, Blues Rock, Bluegrass, and Jazz music. Historically, Lafayette’s is known for showcasing legendary musicians such as Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, Kiss and more.(Come back to Orlando Billy!) Lafayette’s dishes are crafted by Executive Chef, Paul Wisler. He pulls influence from the Mississippi Delta to New Orleans with dishes ranging from Shrimp and Grits to Beignets and oysters and crab claws when in season. It’s a true Southern feast for the eyes and palate, featuring genuine, no frills food. Plus they serve brunch, which I’d like to believe originated in the South. We were recently treated to a variety of flavors and sounds at Layfayette’s. Here’s what we enjoyed and recommend trying during your visit! Waffle Cheese Fries: Topped with smoked cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream and green onions. A unique take on cheese fries and every fry was greased to perfection. Fried Green Tomato and Bacon Sliders: Perfectly breaded tomatoes pilled high with a solid contrast of textures and flavors. And of course, you can’t go wrong with that bacon addition. Lafayette’s Glazed Salmon: BBQ glazed grilled salmon and shrimp on a bed of andouille corn chowder topped with tobacco fried onions. The sauce was a star here as it covered a flaky, tender salmon perfectly. The andouille added an unexpected hint of spice that meshed with the sweetness of the corn and BBQ glaze. Chicken and Waffles: Southern boneless fried chicken, homemade cheddar waffle and hot sauce honey. The honey spice added a unique flavor and the chicken was perfectly crisp. All atop some fluffy waffles drizzled with sweet syrup. An overall«wicked combination»(quoting my husband here) with the perfect melding of spices. Bananas Foster Mason Jars: A glorious mash of bananas, caramel sauce and sugar. Atlas Road Crew: A perfect accompaniment to Southern bites? Good ‘olé music. Named for the road in front of their original practice space in Columbia, South Carolina, Atlas Road Crew has perfected a classic rock ‘n’ roll sound with southern soul accents. With bands rotating nightly, you’re sure to hear some beats to suit your fancy. So get off the sofa and go experience some Southern tunes and bites! We promise you won’t be disappointed.

Loved this new live music venue! Everyone loved the design and décor of the place. The food was southern style and way better than our whole party expected. The portion sizes were much bigger than we anticipated so we all left with boxes. We started with the BBQ shrimp, voodoo wings and crap dip. All starters were exceptional but the shrimp appetizer was to die for. The shrimps were fresh, perfectly cooked and the sauce was out of this world!!! Our entrees were all good as well but we all took most of that home. Be sure to order a side of mac n cheese too but beware it is also a larger portion than expected! We will be back.
