Giraffas Brazilian Grill – Mills Park

Read the reviews and became spectacle, however the food tasted great and was healthy. I had the steak with rice and beans and quinoa. Perfect amount of food. Will be back.

French fries are good, also the grilled veggies.
The balsamic sauce was bad, also the plantains were smelly, the farafal tasted old. Nothing is eatable. :-(

SEASONED FRIES ARE LIFE! Okay, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way… Super friendly service, great, delicious food, and an awesome environment!
But seriously, the seasoned fries are delicious and totally worth the extra charge. GET THEM.
Every time I’ve come here the staff has been so pleasant and friendly. They’re super patient explaining things to you if you’re not sure what something is (or how to pronounce it)!
As for the reviews complaining about the size of the steak, I mean, the whole meal (steak, rice, beans, and fries) is $ 10, so it’s not unexpected for the price range that you get a small proton of steak.
For the price range, great service, and location, I’d say this place is awesome.

For its portions size I guess the only reasons for Giraffas survival in America are unwary adventurous customers and Brazilians, like myself, with high hopes (which will remain unfulfilled) for finding a taste that takes us back home for a second. The place is nice, elegant, and clean, as it has to be due to its location. The food will probably taste like Brazilian to Americans but to Brazilians it will taste like some sort of standardized Latin food. The black beans, for example, are served much drier and unseasoned than in Brazil. Not completely bad but charging $ 10 for a credit-​card size Picanha steak is not cool. I had to take pictures. When looking at them remember that Picanha has a thick fat edge. You can get much more taste and value across the street, at Pig Floyd’s, even though they don’t have satin chairs nor speak Portuguese.

No wonder why this place is always empty. We were starving decided to give it a try, what a disappointment. You will see from the pictures that we ordered the same plate except my bf’s chicken was 2oz and my was 6oz. The pao de queijo was undercooked too. Save your appetite and go someplace else. #Gross

Below average food. Took way too long to get & ended up being free because of it. I ordered a salad & they were out of lettuce! The f**k?! I was thinkin this chef guy coulda just walked across the street to Fresh Market, got some lettuce & came back. Come to think of it, I should’ve done that… & not came back!

Nice place. Good food and pleasant atmosphere. Similar to Chipotle, Brazilian style. Real utensils. Pepsi products. Restrooms clean. Outdoor dining. Would come again. 3.5 stars-​$ 10/​person.

Vegetarian plate was solid. Only one option for vegetarians. Unfortunately, the beans aren’t veggie.
Very healthy. Good size portions.

Excellent seasoning. Steak as t cooked at the correct doneness but it was still Ver tender. The black beans and rice were perfect. I chose the chimichurri sauce and it as delicious. The waiter was Ver nice but brought out my husband’s meal way before mine.
The chef came to our table and was very personable. Nice décor and good prices with a hamburger lunch special. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for steak donen ss and husbands meal arriving before mine.

The International Drive location is hands down a much better experience in terms of service, atmosphere and quality.
Several tables had dirty dishes from previous diners that were not removed the entire time I was there, despite several people walking by.
I requested honey mustard instead of mayo on the burger– they told me the honey mustard is at the drink station– no problem but that is normal mustard– huge difference. I even asked the cashier to clarify it was honey mustard in which he said yes.
The food is fresh and higher quality Ingredients but there are simply to many other choices out there to return to this location. International drive yes but this one no.

I remember seeing this place at the Unilocal Gatsby party and finally made it. I was too full to get any food at the event so I knew I had to come back and try it out. It was well worth it. There are plenty of options to choose from but I ordered the steak and it was seasoned well. My friend had been there previously and he said the burger was really good.
The staff is very nice and helpful in suggesting what is good. The place is clean and well kept with plenty of space to sit. Definitely a place I would come be again.

Honest best bang for you buck. food is always amazing and so so so many options the steak is better than most steak houses truly one of my favorite places to eat and fill up

Updating my review as I had a completely different experience after going to the restaurant in person. My first advice is: don’t order doorstep delivery haha. I went to the location in person and fell absolutely in love. The staff spoke Portuguese, which was awesome and truly reminded me of going to Giraffas as a kid. The music played was Brazilian music. The food was cooked to perfection and the portion was so big I could barely finish my meal. The pão de queijo was amazing. The steak cooked perfectly. The rice and beans were flawless. And the brigadeiro was delicious. Staff was friendly and caring. I will be a regular for sure.

As someone who was born and raised in Brazil and grew up going to Giraffas, I must say I was not impressed with the food I received. The food tasted good and the price would not have been bad had the portions not been so small. If you go to any other Brazilian restaurant, or even chipotle for that matter, you can get 3 or 4 more times the amount of food I got for the same price. I ordered the picanha with rice and beans and my other side was farofa, and I must say, while the food was delicious, I could’ve had another 3 servings of that rice before I was satisfied. Granted, when it comes to Brazilian food I eat a lot (because it’s so good) but the portion I got wasn’t enough. I requested the steak medium well, and part of it was actually burnt. I expected a lot more from Giraffas because as someone who grew up in Brazil and ate there all the time, I was expecting a lot more from the chain. The one thing I give five starts to was the pão de queijo. It was absolutely delicious and I am happy I ordered two servings of it. I would definitely go back but I would probably get a burger or sandwich next time, with the price I paid I could’ve gone to chipotle and eaten a lot more. But seriously, go get the pão de queijo, it’s so worth it!

The meal I had here was absolutely delicious! Their black beans were on point, and the Picanha steak was perfectly seasoned and so delicious! I ate every crumb off my plate! Since this was my first time here, a very nice (handsome!) gentleman helped me figure out their menu. You pick a protein, and three sides, but you can add other proteins for extra $ 4 – 7 depending on what you want to add on.
I will without a doubt come back to try other items on their menu.

This is my second time coming to this Giraffas location and it has a few great things going for it but it leaves a lot left to be desired. First off, the restaurant itself is very well kept, well managed and looks very clean. The décor is playful and friendly and full of vibrant colors. They have a decent selection of daily specials and I was able to try two out of the 5 (or was it 7?) that they offer.
The first meal I got was their picanha lunch special (few months ago) that came with two sides. I went with the rice/​beans and a salad for my sides and overall, it was just okay. The sides were decent for being a fast casual place but my steak was gummy and I spent a while trying to cut through the tough steak. Not really a deal breaker because it was only $ 9 for the whole meal and they gave me their super addictive cheese bread (Pão de Queijo) as a little starter for checking in. I’ve eaten picanha steak before and it’s the best thing ever invented so I guess I was expecting a similar experience.
The second time I stopped by (today) was a little better. I went with their cheeseburger special and upgraded my fries to their seasoned ones. The meal was only around $ 6 which is almost unheard of for lunch these days except at fast food restaurants. Again, I understand that I get what I pay for and the food tasted a little better than the usual fast food fare but I guess I just hoped for a little more. The seasoned fries were REALLY good though :)
All in all, I’ll come back again to try more stuff on their menu but I’m not in a major rush…

This was probably the wrong place for a non red meat eating person to eat at but after a lackluster visit next door, we decided to give them a shot.
Since we were on a time crunch, we ordered hurriedly. I would advise to check out the menu before walking up to the counter to order. This restaurant is essentially Brazil’s version of a fast food restaurant. LOTS of meat. I was happy to see a chicken option so I stuck with that. Ended up getting a grilled sandwich on a bun with my choice of mayo (Sriracha Mayo) and cheese (cheddar) and a side of fries.
Giraffes uses the same technology as Burger Fi but since the restaurant was empty on our arrival, it wouldn’t be hard to figure out which table our meals would go to!
The décor is very bright with lots of color. And lots of seating available so this would be ideal for a meat loving family!
My food was cooked perfectly and tasty. Nothing that I would seriously rave over but not bad either. If I wanted a simple chicken sandwich, I would come here. But if you’re a meat lover, this place is definitely for you! Only regret is not ordering those little Brazilian bites of cheesy bread. Next time!!!

Okay, I’m more impressed than I thought I would be. It’s a nice clean establishment, the employees were friendly, and the food was very good. I ordered the picanha with brown rice, black beans, and farofa. I opted for chimichurri sauce to go with it.
While I did feel like the sauce could have used a little more kick, there was plenty of flavor in the steak itself so I was not unhappy with the combination. The rice and beans were good, and the farofa was a little strange but I would definitely get it again on my next visit. The steak itself was perfectly cooked and surprisingly tender. The serving size is perfect too — I didn’t leave over stuffed, just full.
Oh and we got two orders of the Pão de Queijo as well. They came out a little late (and as a result, unbelievably fresh) but they were worth the wait. A light crunch on the exterior and an amazing, soft and gooey inside. These are the kind of things you could eat two dozen of if there was no such thing as consequences.

Taste of the ummm… flavorless. That is it. If you try the steak here hopefully you are in for their «Taste of the Flavorful.»
We ordered a picanha steak and N.Y. Strip steak. The way the steak was made was off. I asked for medium picanha, & my husband’s was suppose to be medium well. It came out opposite. I also ordered a side of shrimp. None of these had any seasonings. They honestly just tasted all the same like all cooked on the same dirty grill taste. The sauces like chimmichurri and balsamic sauce just tasted like almost straight vinegar. The bbq sauce tasted like sweet and sour like sauce.
Sides that we had included couscous, grilled veggies, mashed potatoes, rice, & fries. Couscous had a vinegar taste as well. Veggies had that same dirty grill taste. Mashed potatoes were as salty as the ocean as well as the french fries.
Be ready to pay for the cheese bread too, but it’s not as good as elsewhere. It is more crunchy all around instead of being crunchy on the outside and moist in the inside.
The initial person greeting us was not helpful whatsoever. Don’t even ask questions. It is quite pointless. That person said they don’t know, and everything is good. Yeah right! That’s pretty contradictory, and fake. She also said to read the menu word for word. I’m not kidding either. FYI, I can read, but it’s nice to get a more of an understanding of the food from the person who works here, and sees the meals. Do you not observe what you serve to the other customers? The second person that delivered the food was personable and way more helpful.
The best part of the meal was the complimentary cake and ice cream maybe because it was Valentine’s Day. It was like a Chocolate Lava Cake with cookies & cream ice cream & raspberry syrup on top.

We visted when Giraffas first opened, we loved it but then on returning visits it seemed they had lost their footing.
Tonights visit was almost spot on! Both of our steaks were delish and cooked perfect. The mash potatoes are almost worth the trip alone! So yummy! Then we finished off our meal with a free cheesecake we got for just checking in on Unilocal!
I would have given them 5 stars but our order of cheese bread were not fresh and shouldn’t have been served. But a staff checked on us and saw they weren’t good and made us fresh ones which were perfect!
