I’m probably not going back here, and I probably won’t recommend this place. I’m a little upset that I’m only giving this place anything less than what it is because it has potential to be something much more. It was busy for sure and I heard great things about this place. Though, my reality fell short of my expectations. We saw people be seated after us, served before us, and leave. Where was our food? It came out over an hour after. I appreciated our server telling us she could bring us more bread while we waited, but I didn’t want to be filled with that and not have an appetite for my meal that I ordered. Then alas our food came. I got the Pollo Empanizado and my boyfriend got the Pollo Salteado a la — Madrid. The food is the only reason this is getting any stars at all. I’m pretty disappointed. Sure, the food is great — but it’s something you can definitely find elsewhere. Food is one things, but also think about your customers. They are your business — not the food.

This is the real deal! Great food, friendly service, good prices. We could have just eaten a couple baskets of the bread and been happy. Finished with expresso and coconut flan. This is far from home but we will make the drive to come back.

The food was excellent but the service needs to improve. Our appetizers and kids drink never came. I’ve been there numerous times in the afternoon and never had any issues. Apparently the first shift needs to improve their customer service skills.

A wonderful, family owned business. The food is always wonderful and fresh. You can tell this authentic Cuban cooking. The Ropa vieja is my favorite but have also tried the chicharrones. The only complaint is you can’t expect to go in sit down and get you food quickly. It takes time to prepare this dishes. Best to go when you have plenty of time to enjoy the people you are with and savor every bite.

This place is always my go to when I come back home. The food is delicious and very well priced. Most meals come with fresh pressed hot bread, a Spanish salad, a side, rice, and bean, then comes the main entrée. Which is always hot and delicious! The sangria is to die for! Very sweet and fresh and delicious! The staff are always nice. And no you don’t have to speak Spanish to eat here in case anyone was wondering that. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a good warm meal.

The food tastes like it’s been simmering for 2 days… in a good way. I usually always at the flank steak but everything I ever get there is so good, even when what I order is unintentional bc I don’t speak Spanish!!! Lol their green chimichuri(I think) sauce is so good I’d bathe in it. The hot fresh bread is out of this world. And my meal isn’t usually over $ 10. So worth the«I want to go straight home and take a nap» feeling you get when you’re ¾ of the way through your meal but you keep going anyways. The only downside is that at times the wait is a little longer than I’d like, which makes it unpredictable to hit on a lunch hour. But I take the risk anyway.

Very clean. Extremely reasonable. Good service. Good Spanish food. The seafood paella was a good portion & the lamb was very tender & flavorable. I would definitely return.

Huge portions! Great food! Low prices! What’s more to love than all of that? I seem to always get the Steak and Onions because it is that good! It comes with a salad that has this amazing vinaigrette dressing that has lots of cumin in it(which I love). The staff is always super friendly and courteous. I 100% recommend Café Madrid for a good meal that’s easy on the wallet.

What a wonderful local restaurant! My fried chicken breast was perfect! Not overly cooked, a nice light breading and a delicious balance of seasoning. The salads could use some improvement, but the bread was good, and the sides were also awesome. Service could be a little better, and I am not a fan of places that serve you cans of soda instead of fountain drinks, but these are minor concerns. Take out was also very easy.

This is one of my favorite cuban restaurants in Orlando. It’s a nice little place with a laid back atmosphere. The service is great and the food is to. I haven’t tried anything on the menu I didn’t like; my favorites being the steak and onions or, the flavor bursting, yellow rice with chicken. This is a great place for lunch or dinner.

The nice thing is that this place is cheap and they give you a ton of food. For about $ 8 you get bread, salad, beans, rice, food and another side. The downside is I’d prefer they have you less quantity and more quality. The bread is pretty good, but the salad leaves much to be desired: it’s literally a bunch of iceberg lettuce and a single slice of tomato. The rice and beans are pretty good, but my pork was tasteless. I added hot sauce to it and it still was tasteless, I ate it with the beans and rice and still no taste… no luck with anything. I will say my wife’s chicken was excellently cooked, so maybe I just picked a bad item. I also was unimpressed with the service. I had to ask for more water and the bill multiple times and even when she was bringing us stuff, it was pretty slow. All in all, I’ll go back and try something else, but if they ever raised prices a few bucks per plate I wouldn’t even attempt to go back.

Although the black beans and rice taste good, I lick the bowl of the red beans and rice. My party giggled when I drank the salad dressing. The caldo gallego soup was delicious. In the broth, you can taste the ham, chorizo, and beans. The best!

Oct. 8, 2014 This restaurant has been in business for 23 years at the same location for a good reason. The food is made fresh, it delicious, great portion sizes, fantastic prices. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, you won’t regret it! The servers are extremely accommodating and want to make sure that you are very happy. A hidden gem! The picture is a lamb shank casserole, sweet plantains, and yellow rice. It is addicting.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. The same family has owned it forever. The food is great and the offerings include typical Cuban selections. The food is well seasoned and very tasty. The bread and salad are a start that you look forward too. They have the best homemade Sangria in town. The place is small and intimate and the staff is always friendly. A great place to go for Cuban/Spanish food that has a fine dining feel.

Went with group of 15 people. The table was already set upon arrival. The Cuban bread was nice and hot out of the oven. Next ordered the multi platter appetizers. All was really good. The platter was big enough for the whole table to enjoy. Next sangria several members ordered and also Cuban colas. My entrée was pork chops really tasty. Others ordered lamb shank, roasted pork and salmon special. The salad dressing was poured on several meals and the flavor was explosive. The group really enjoyed the food. The pace needed at least one more server put on tonight. The group will definitely be returning monthly.

Good food had the Mofongo and carne frita. Food was fairly quick and fresh. The sald dressing was strong but I wanted more. AAND they give garlic toast while you wait.

Service was amazing and the Cuban food was wonderful. We had the lobster soup, garlic shrimp, fried plantain and a couple other things that I don’t remember the name because they are authentic Cuban and Puerto Rican. Prices were very reasonable and we rolled out of there for $ 50. No room for dessert.

Food was amazing, large portions and an awesome price. I ordered the midnight and my wife ordered the beef stew, both were amazing, love this place and will definitely be going back

I decided to check out Café Madrid as I waited for my car to get repaired at the Firestone next door. I ordered roast pork which came served with onions, a small salad with house dressing, black beans, yellow rice, and sweet plantains. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. I couldn’t believe all of that came for $ 8! Our server was attention and the restaurant was cool and clean. I would definitely come back.

If you are in the mood for Cuban food and are near Orlando airport, this is your spot. We found this place through Unilocal(of course) and had a great meal. I had the Cuban sandwich and red bean soup. Both were excellent. My wife had the beef ropa vieja and it was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely will be back the next time we are in Orlando.
