Absolutely love this place!!! They have really come a long way from where they started some years back! Food is great and fresh! Best Cuban fusion in Orlando!!! Even better then some of the Cuban spots that have been around for a while. Gets packed on weekends for sure and parking can be a bit of a pain but worth it

Great food and the employees are friendly! Live this little hidden gem. The fricasse de pollo is amazing! May I suggest adding the garbanzo beans to a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Delicious!

Visiting Orlando from California, I wanted to try an authentic Cuban sandwich. Man, did this place deliver. An über driver(who was a recent migrant from Cuba) said this place was the best in town. I have to say I agree. The Cuban sandwich was incredible, the friend plantains were really good and the rum cake was uh-mazing. The portions sizes are big and the prices are really good especially for Orlando. The staff is also super friendly, as they gave us advice on the best local nightlife. This place is a go-to if you are visiting Orlando. Make the time to go, you won’t be disappointed,

The turkey sandwich is to die for! That avocado dressing is so bomb. I would put it on everything if i could. I would be satisfied if they just started selling that individually. The locations are cute, the Colonial location has seating and the Winter Park location has a small bar area for sitting but no tables. The Colonial location also offers yummy coffee too so that’s always worth trying. They can get crowded and it can be hard to find seat

The staff at BBD colonial on a whole ‘nother level! Going above and beyond on service today! Spectacular job! Food was delivered promptly and as always the quality and taste is top notch. On a hot day like today, staff kept walking around refilling waters for all guests! Way to go! Oh and please order their daily Cuban special with rice. Never disappoints!

I had a dish with shredded pork(I forgot the name) but it was the plate of the day! The plantains were so good. The salad was delicious. The shredded pork was extremely juicy and flavorful. The serving size was plenty and enough to save for breakfast the next day! I think the entire plate was $ 12! Suuuuper cheap for delicious food.

Absolutely amazing food!!! My friend and I went for some authentic food and that’s what we got! The man up front was very helpful since it was our first visit and also can over to check up on us. Will definitely be back the next time I visit Orlando!

The most authentic Cuban food I have had in Orlando. I first visited the original location in Winter Park and now am a frequent visitor the the Colonial location. The space is open, clean, and very appealing to the eye. There is ample seating between the inside and outside spaces. The outside tables are picnic table style so you may have to share on a busy day but this is yet to happen to me. The Picadillo platter is to die for. This is always my go-to when coming here for lunch or dinner. Whenever the«especial» is pork I have to get it — it is the best dish they have. All platters come with a side of rice, beans, and a salad with dressing. I’m not sure what the dressing is but I could drink it by the gallon it is that good. I have never been disappointed by a meal here. The desserts are also incredibly delicious. You will absolutely enjoy anything you eat here!

Black Bean Deli is one of the best casual restaurants in Orlando. While their Mills location can be incredibly hectic during lunch(small space/kitchen, intense demand), this location delivers great food AND great service. Obviously, considering that it is Cuban food, the Cuban sandwich is a key item. Their empanadas and other fried treats are great as well. The most important thing to do(if you stomach can handle it) is to get a platter. This was you can taste all of their delicious sides with your meal: fried plantains(plátanos), salad, and rice and beans. Now, the salad is nothing special… except for the dressing. The dressing is some sort of avocado infused concoction and word on the street is that the dressing was once ranked the #4 food in Orlando(anyone have a source?) The outdoor seating right on Colonial may seem like a problem, but somehow it ends up being relaxing. It is also borderline necessary to sit outside because they keep it SOCOLD inside! Anyhow, great food, service, and pricing — what are you waiting for, head over there right NOW!

Man, why did it take me so long to check this place out? I’ve had Black Bean Deli on my «to try» list for quite some time. Now that I’ve been I see all that time as wasted. I dined at the Mills 50 location for lunch with a friend. The restaurant itself is lovely and quaint. Very trendy. And there is a great outdoor seating area. This location is very convenient to Downtown, so it’s a great option for lunch during the work week. The staff is very friendly. I arrived before my friend and decided to order a cortadito while I waited for her. The gentleman at the counter was very friendly and took my coffee order, and said I could wait at a table and just come up to order food when my friend arrived. The Cuban coffee was brought out to my table and I spent a few minutes seated by the window sipping my cortadito and just enjoying life. It had been quite a while since I had good Cuban coffee. I used to live in South Florida where you could get it everywhere, but the quality stuff is a little harder to come by in Central Florida. I thoroughly enjoyed this cup o’ joe from Black Bean, though. My friend eventually arrived and we placed our food orders. I got the sandwich de pavo — turkey, lettuce, and tomato served with a side of their avocado dressing. I’m not a huge fan of ham, so this was a great alternative sandwich on their menu. And it was fantastic! The sandwich came warm and pressed served on some really great bread. The avocado dressing was amazeballs. I definitely recommend pouring that all over the sandwich before you dig in. My friend had a half Cuban with a side of sweet plantains, and she really enjoyed it as well. The sandwiches are pretty big and hearty. I love plantains and I wanted to order some myself, but I knew I couldn’t eat all that food. I’ll definitely be back soon to try the plantains and check out some of the desserts! Bottom line: This is some good food. Authentic Cuban. If that’s your thing, you need to give Black Bean Deli a try. I’ll also add that the price is right. The prices for everything here are very reasonable. Especially for the amount of food you get.

Absolutely THE best semi-latín meal we had while visiting winter park Orlando! The rice was on point, so we’re the maduros and the service. I didn’t like the chicken :/I’m very very phenickey? With my meat. Their avocado salad dressing was yumms! And hands down best yuca fries I’ve ever tasted!

I’ve past this place several times and have always wanted to stop but with traffic I always get deterred. Decided to stop this morning and am so glad I did. Had the classic Cubano sandwich with a Malta de India and my GF had café con leche with rellena de papa con carne which were both awesome. Service was delightful and helpful with explaining the menu and specials for the day. Only bad thing is limited parking in the area and the hustle & bustle of being right off of 50/Colonial.

Tasty and cheap sandwiches ftw! I was in town visiting a friend and we stopped here for an early dinner. We were able to snag a spot in their small lot and grabbed a table inside. There’s outdoor seating but we passed since it was a warm August day. Order your food at the counter and take a seat; they’ll bring the food to your table. We split the media noche and pan con lechon. Both were delicious in their own ways. The media noche has a tasty sweet roll and the pan con lechon was very flavorful. The tres leches was okay; kind of wish I had the flan instead. Overall, a very tasty and affordable sandwich place. Would def want to go back next time I’m in town.

Pro: Casual environment, fast service, great cuban sandwiches, large portions, their specials are great and come with maduros, rice and beans and a small side salad. don’t miss the coffee menu and their rum cake Cons: parking can be a hassle, outdoor seating is overlooking colonial which is not a great sight Overall a great place for a quick lunch

Everything I’ve had at Black Bean Deli has been excellent. Usually I take my food to go but recently I had my sister and her dog Freddie visiting from out of town so we sat outside on the patio. We split their half Cuban lunch special and a Havana pork platter. As usual the food was delicious and more than enough for the two of us. Freddie was happy he got to join us rather than being left at home, and even enjoyed a few bites of the pork. I can recommend Black Bean Deli for any time of day because the breakfast sandwiches are also great. If you still haven’t been yet, definitely check it out!

How have I not reviewed you, my beloved? Let’s talk about Friday’s– they’re great, right? End of the week, happy hour, you get to sleep in the next day and Havana pork. I don’t know what BBD does to make their Havana pork so god dang good, but it is. And I love it. It’s only on Friday’s, so don’t go on a Tuesday and get all bent out of shape because I got you all excited. Anywho, most days of the week I get the white meat Spanish chicken. It’s SO flavorful and comes with the yummiest black beans(seriously, they’re so good), yellow rice, maduros(sweet plantains) and a garden salad with avocado dressing. I’ll usually grab one of these for dinner, eat half(because it’s more than enough) and take the other half to work the next day for lunch and make everyone jealous. It’s somewhat healthy and super delish and I crave it all the time. PROTIP: Get a side of their mojo and dip your chicken in it and pour some on your beans and rice and maybe directly into your mouth if you’re feelin’ frisky… you’re welcome in advance. The empanadas are pretty amazing too. I mean, it’s hard to screw up fried dough and meat but people do it all day long. These guys do it right. I love you, BBD. Foreva.

I had been meaning to try this place for the past two years. Finally made it! We started off with a shredded beef empanada… Absolutely heaven in your mouth !! So good that I wish I would have just got a few for my entrée. I will come here just for this alone! Okay so I was very surprised at how clean this place is! I was skeptical as it seems like quite the hipster place. The outdoor seating is a great option too! My fiancé got a special they had which included shredded pork, plantains, black beans n rice. I opted for the healthier option and got the Spanish baked chicken white breast meal which came with all the same sides. I was really bummed at how dry my chicken was and only seemed to have flavor on the very top which was doused in garlic. It was like straight garlic that had been freshly cut with a little bit of oil. I tried my fiancés pork and really liked it so I asked if I could switch out my chicken. The girl said YES! No problem! So nice :) my pork came out and sadly was also covered in fresh garlic. I like garlic but this was wayyyy too much. We were burping up vile for two days. Though the plantains and empanadas were reallllyyy good I think that’s all I’d ever get here.

Came here expecting the best cuban ever, but perhaps the expectation or too great or I came too late. Disclosure: not floridian or cuban, just a northeasterner visiting and searching for good food. The venue itself was nice. came on a monday evening and parking was easy on the street. No line either. Venue is spacious and clean. Staff extremely friendly. Outdoor seating as well. Cuban: bread was a bit dry as was the meat both ham and pork. Definitely edible and good, but my expectations too great. Perhaps got the leftover cuban for the day. At least they are open late. Platter: really good, probs the best part: comes with sweet plantains, rice, and beans, and salad with unique avacado dressing. Every component of the platter was delicious. Empanada: not bad, got the shredded beef version which was full of flavor and salted just the right amount. The crust however was not as crispy as I’d had liked. OVERALL: you can make better cubans at home, but if you can’t this will probably do.

This is my weekly go-to… especially on Tuesday’s when they have the Ropa Vieja special(shredded stewed beef with onions/peppers). I love the Picadillo platter which is stewed ground beef with tomatoes, onion and garlic«sofrito» with some green olives(not an olive fan but they aren’t overdone at all), and golden raisins which creates a perfect pop of flavor in your mouth. Their platters are accompanied by a nice portion of seasoned black beans(of course!), rice, sweet plantains, salad with a tasty avocado based sauce I like to spread all over my plate of food. Simply delicious. Hungry but want something on-the-go? They always have empanadas(chicken, beef, etc.), papa rellenos(stuffed potato balls) or other quick grab and go snacks. Their sandwiches, hot & pressed like the traditional cuban or even the Sandwich de pavo which is a simple pressed sandwich with turkey, tomato, lettuce with that fantastic avocado sauce I love. Sometimes I’ll stop by to grab a café con leche and some pastries for my officemates for breakfast or randomly stop for their tres leche or variety of flavored flan desserts. I am yet to be disappointed because besides authentic Cuban cuisine, BBD is consistent! Every time I order my food, it’s cooked the same way, never over or under cookied or less/more portion size. Consistency is key which I feel says a lot about how a business is operated. They are seemingly always busy but to me, that’s a good sign. Here’s a tip for taking orders to-go… you can call ahead and place your order and when you arrive, go to the end of the bar to pay separately from those guests who are placing their order. Quick & fast!
