I picked my mom up at the Anaheim Amtrak station this afternoon and we decided to try some place local to eat. We wound up at The Prime Cut Café in The Stadium Promenade about ½ mile away. The food and the service were top notch. Our waitress, Janet, was very friendly and attentive. My mom had the Pulled Pork Burrito. I had the BBQ, Bacon Burger. Both meals were very good.

If you’re looking for prime rib at Prime Cut, this is NOT the restaurant for you since they ALWAYS seem to «run-out» of prime rib. My husband and I have tried this restaurant several times hoping the outcome will be different, but sadly it’s always the same, and they run-out of every item we have ordered on the menu, including their namesake prime rib cut. No matter the day or time there’s an excuse for not having an item we’d like to order, even after we’ve ordered it. We have finally given up on this place after our recent experience. Not only were they out of prime rib, and short ribs, on a Sunday evening at 7:00, but when it came time for dessert, we ordered doughnuts and the waiter came back and told us they were out of those too. Aaarrgghhh! Three strikes and you’re out. We won’t be returning to this circus of a restaurant.

Décor is nice. Service is okay. Food is food here. They ran out of crème brûlée. Prices are decent. IF you like good prime rib and steaks, do yourself a favor and order a hamburger or go somewhere else.

DISCRIMINATION! My girlfriend and I were in the area and unfortunately decided to choose this place because it sounded good. Don’t get me wrong, the place was really nice and clean. But that didn’t make up for the terrible service. I could tell after we were seated that we weren’t being treated the same. We were dressed in casual clothes and noticed that every one else was in business casual attire. Our waitress, tall black haired female, was obviously paying more attention to the other tables and even offered breadsticks and refills to every other table except for mine. When it came time for the check and the waitress took my card, she immediately changed tones and decided to be really nice and asked if I wanted another refill before we left. Probably because she didn’t think my card would go through. Waste of money and will NEVER return.

Came here during OC Restaurant with a group of friends because their menu selection sounded great. I had the deviled eggs, filet, and chocolate cake. Everything tasted pretty standard in terms of flavor profiles. Nothing really stood out. For being a steakhouse, I expected that they would be better with their temperatures. I ordered my filet rare, but received a medium rare steak instead. Due to a lack of sauce and the fact that they cut my filet before I received it, my steak came out pretty dry. I understand standards may suffer during restaurant week, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back here.

My friend and I were hoping for some really great steak. Unfortunately, it did not fit the hype. Sat down, lovely place, the bread was really pretty good, but even after our second plate, but it was taking about 30 minutes for the waitress to come by and check up on us. She offered a free dessert, but if it took any longer we were going to leave. Luckily, boom. After 5 more minutes, it was on our table: the pasta and her steak. Looks great. But the taste is all pre-marinated. Which, in normal cases, would be okay, but it was super salty for the steak, and my pasta was extraordinarily bland. We had enough, so we told the manager and left. At least our steak cravings were satisfied at The Pint House with their steak nachos and a beer. Same price to fill two people than just an 8oz steak. I’d rather be going to outback or black Angus next time, though I feel bad for the serving staff. Not sure what the problem was, but there was a lot of people that weren’t getting there food in.

I’m reviewing this place when I came for OC restaurant week. Of all the options we had, we chose this place. At first I was excited because their menu sounded so delicious and it had entrees my boyfriend and I could both agree on. But when we got there, we both regret coming in. We got greeted nicely and got seated. Our server came to us after a little wait and we ordered our food. For appetizers, we ordered the devilish eggs and the tomato and basil bisque. Both were good. For entrees, I ordered the filet mignon with shrimp oscar and my boyfriend ordered the angus prime rib. Our sever had then offered us bread while we wait. That bread was hard to eat and not enjoyable at all. But that’s not all we didn’t like about our experience. We waited about an hour for our food and I saw people at multiple tables who sat after us, got their food, and FINISHED after us BEFORE we even got our food! How ridiculous is that? One thing I noticed was that every table that had my server, got everything late. While others waited a decent amount of time to still enjoy their food. I forget who that server was, but better for him so he doesn’t have to go through being embarrassed or ashamed. We waited so long and our food had finally gotten to us. COLD. My filet mignon was cold and I thought to myself that there was no point in sending it back cause who knows how long that’ll take. So I sucked it up and ate it. I pretty much liked the sides better than the actual star of the dish. The angus prime rib was good, it would’ve been better if it had been more tender. Then dessert we ordered the VERYTINY slice of «not enough chocolate» chocolate cake and it was way too rich for my taste but the peanut brittle was fine. Sigh. Not a good experience and not worth the $ 40/person. I felt ripped off. Definitely not coming back.

Had not eaten here for some time and 4 of us went to dinner. The food was excellent. They had additional special of 3 for $ 30 which included starter, main course and dessert. The brisket was excellent and came with some of the best potato salad I have had. It was a warm salad. The pork Chop and the stuffed shrimp were also excellent. As a starter, the beet and avocado salad was excellent and quite large. Service was excellent. I have had lunch here before and it is good food and easy to talk during business meeting.

This place is great! I go into Prime Cut to kill a few hours by enjoying a nice glass of wine and a tasty meal. The Happy Hour items are reasonably priced, tasty, and the perfect size for an appetizer. The entrees are a great size and I ALWAYS have some leftovers. I definitely recommended you sit at the bar, the staff at the bar is attentive and friendly. They recognize usual customers and treat new ones just as great! I recommend the following: Appetizers — Frito Misto, Shrimp Cocktail, Smoked Salmon and Cheese Plates. Entrée — Double Chicken Sandwich(Amazing!), Filet Mignon Sandwich, Blue Cheese Burger and Beef Dip… all delicious! Seriously try this place!!! It’s wonderful!!!

Ate here with the LO and my parents for lunch. I had the ahi tuna salad which was decent. The food was ok, prices were on the high side. The menu options were average, nothing really exciting. Good to try, but I don’t think I would go back.

Great service but mediocre food. I took my best friend here for dinner and we were seated at a tiny table even though the restaurant was ¼ full. I had to ask to move to a booth but our server was very accommodating. The highlights: +My glass of Riesling was great but even though it was a ‘glass’ it felt smaller than what I’m used to getting in other restaurants. +I totally recommend their deviled eggs and salmon dip as appetizers. The salmon dip is pretty light and good for sharing. +Focaccia bread is amazing, you don’t even need the olive oil/balsamic vinegar because the flavor is great on its own. +Ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly(medium rare) What was just okay: –Although the ribeye was good, it was definitely not worth the $ 38, I’ve been to a lot of great steakhouses and you can easily add another $ 10 for a top notch steak. This one could’ve been made at home for less than $ 15. –My ahi tuna salad was good but I’ve had better at BJ’s Restaurant. The dressing here and their salad mix is not as good and you barely get 5 slices of tuna whereas my favorite salad at BJ’s gives you around 10 slices and it’s probably the same price or even cheaper. –Crème brûlée was mediocre, the sugar coating on top was very thin and didn’t have enough crunch and the custard tasted as if it was made from a mix I probably won’t come back but I didn’t have a terrible experience. Our server was awesome and very polite. Our bill came out to $ 101.

This place is fantastic. We came here for restaurant week. For starters: we ordered the clam chowder and the ahi tostada. They were both delicious and flavorful. Main entrees: 28 day aged prime rib and filet mignon with parmesan shrimp, both were fantastic! The prime rib was so tasty. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The portions are generous. Desert: we had the sorbet and chocolate cake. Yum! Service: phenomenal! Our server Alex was attentive and informative. Excellent service I don’t have anything to complain about. This restaurant made a hungry person happy! We are definitely coming here to try out the other entrees they have!

I work right down the street from this place and I really love it. The service is always too notch. I bring customers and co-workers here all the time and everyone is super nice and always spot on with orders, refills, etc. No complaints at all in the service front. I’ve been here enough that I’ve sampled a good amount of the menu. I’ll hit a few highlights in this review. The poke tostadas are really tasty. If you’re getting an appetizer I highly recommend these. They’re delicious. If you’re in at lunch time the prime rib dip is my absolute favorite. Tender, sized right, and delicious. You won’t be sorry if you order this. Comes with fries but I often substitute for veggies. For dinner the bone in pork chop is outstanding. They nail it. Tender, big, juicy, and seasoned just right. Comes with delicious mashed potatoes. Alternatively, and just as good — the prime rib is awesome. I love that too. Choosing between the chop and the prime rib is always a dilemma for me. Can’t wait to go again — love this place.

Some friends and I tried them for OC Restaurant week and we were not impressed. While our primary waitress was lovely, the overall service was pretty slow for a mostly empty late lunch. We were seated near the back and could be understandably overlooked if we didn’t see two tables seated after us receive faster/more attentive service while we even ran out of water. Food wise there were some amazing things, such as the focaccia bread and deviled eggs. But most items were mediocre and rather disappointing, especially for the locale and price. We all ordered $ 20 restaurant week specials, and while my chicken dish was delicious their burger tasted like a thicker In & Out while the pulled pork’s sauce resembled sloppy joes. No complaints on dessert except that the chocolate cake was more of a fudge brownie but otherwise tasty. Nothing was bad but we definitely walked in with higher expectations. We probably won’t be back outside of happy hour wine and deviled eggs.

This was our second visit. All three of us ordered our meat medium and the two steaks and burger all came out medium-rare. They were seasoned well, but for the price I’d have expected better. They have a problem with little fruit flies; you know, the kind that love wine. There was one or two that would not leave our table alone. It looked like the people before us had the same issue, as there was a fly smashed into the wall(complete with blood/wine stain). I’m unimpressed.

It wasn’t busy when a friend and I arrived. We decided to try this place out during its happy hour since we were waiting for my car being maintenanced down the street. Walked inside and the interior is very nice. The first thing you see is the full bar. We were greeted right off the bat and we requested to be seated outside at the patio(really nice day out). Menus were handed to us and then our waiter was shortly with us. We ordered two happy hour drinks. I went with the top suggestion(based on sweetness) our waiter gave me which was the Pomegranate Lemon Drop; however I was not a fan :/it was definitely not sweet and there was barely any sugar around the rim of the glass to contrast with the bitterness of the drink. Off of the happy hour menu we also ordered: Beef Brisket Sliders — the beef was tender and I really enjoyed the bbq sauce that was in there. Devilishly Delicious Eggs — deviled eggs that had some curry powder on top with bacon; very good combo. My favorite dish out of what we had. Fried Mushrooms — it was ok. I enjoyed what seemed like a chipotle mayo type of sauce though. Chips with their house Guac — chips were on the oily side, but we loved the guacamole. The total came out to be around $ 42 between the both of us. This place is slightly on the pricey side. Service was good. Our waiter came back every so often to see if we were doing okay. Very nice and friendly. When it got a bit busier inside they seemed to check on us less and after we waited for a while to pay the bill, I had to walk the bill inside myself for us. May or may not be coming back, we’ll see. They definitely have a lot more things to try.

I came here for OC Restaurant week with my best friend and I would say it doesn’t compare to Lawrys Prime Rib but it was great for the amount that we got. We ordered the prime rib, lobster tail, with mashed potatoes, and cream of spinach. It also came with dessert. It was $ 40 per person. — Parking is easy — Customer service was great — Food took longer than expected — Wish the prime rib was more tender — I would recommend this place for OC restaurant week

I came in here only for 45 minutes top to grab a drink, and strictly speaking from the bar scenario, it was a great time! It got packed because of a hockey and preseason baseball game. I can image, for a Friday evening, this place gets crowded regardless of a game though. They had a great happy hour menu– for a place that does specialty martini concoctions, not just the gin/vodka martini, I applaud you! I got a pomegranate lemon drop with a sugared rim. It was pretty tasty! They have umpteem amounts of whiskey and scotch, I don’t even know the difference between the two, but they have bottles aged for like 18 years or something nuts! I would highly recommend coming here if you live close, or if you’re seeing a game! It’s very classy but doesn’t have the stuffy feel to it. Happy hour is until 6pm, so come early and get a seat!

Decided to give this place a try for lunch during restaurant week with my foodie friend in tow. We each got a three course meal and there were quite a few options to choose from which I thought was nice. Started off with devilish eggs and some clam chowder. Both were good in my opinion. My friend didn’t really like the eggs because she thought it was kind of sour. I think it was due to the relish or something of that sort. It gave it an interesting kick which I kind of liked. Clam chowder with bacon bits was really good. Well, anything with bacon has to be good! For our mains we chose their most popular burger and chicken burgundy. Didn’t really care much for the burger as it’s nothing really special compared to every other burgers. Chicken burgundy was a bit heavy with too many bold flavors going on at once making it a bit overwhelming in taste. Desserts were chocolate cake and mango sorbet. I’d skip both altogether. All in all, food was nothing really special or anything to rave about. Service on the other hand, was good though. Our waiter was very nice and attentive giving us recommendations being it was our first time there. They also have happy hour. Drinks on their happy hour menu was very decently priced.
