My husband and I came in about 45 minute until they were going to close. Almost everything we ordered they said that they were out of, including salad. We finally found something to ordered and we got it to go. While we were waiting for our food 4 other couples came in and were frustrated to find out that they were out of almost everything and refused to make any more. Those couples ended up leaving to go to the restaurant next door. That was a total of 8 customers that this establishment missed out on in 10 minutes. One of the main things that they people were upset about was that there was not enough salad and that they refused to make any more. When we finally got our food the order was wrong and the man serving us at the front was rude and talked to me as if I was stupid when I explained to him that the order he had given me something entirely different than what I had ordered. After much discussion and frustration they fixed my order. When we got home to eat the food it was extremely greasy and left both me and my husband feeling sick afterwards. I will never go back to this establishment and will warn people to stay clear of it.

My manger kept telling me that this place was a must try, and she was right! I came here during lunch time and it was pack but they took my order and my food was ready right away. The portion sizes are big too. Everything was so yummy, I would have continue eating but I was so full. I’ll definitely be coming he more often since it’s close to my jobs office.

I recently tried this place out for the first time. I’m a huge chicken shwarma person and their chicken shwarma here rocks! It’s flavorful without being overpowered by too many spices. Great place to grab a bite to eat.

This place was okay. I ordered Shish kebab plate. Even though I asked medium for beef, they cooked well done. It took almost 20 minutes for food to arrive and I had to send it back, so it took at least 30 minutes for food that I wanted to eat. The plate came with salad, hummus, pita bread, and rice(I substituted with kale salad). Hummus was too salty and salad was too saggy. I wouldn’t go back.

Good food, good service, reasonable prices. I usually get the mixed shawarma plate and it tastes pretty good and it’s Halal which makes it worth driving here. My rating for this place is 4.5(so rounding up to 5). The only recommendation I have for their management is to bake fresh pita breads if possible. I mean the name of the place can indicate that one can expect fresh pita bread here but they don’t bake their pita bread here and just buy the ones that usually sells In the middle Easter stores. If they manage to get at least fresh pita bread on daily basis, that would really distinguish their restaurant.

I was so heartbroken when I found out that Pita Grill was closed in Irvine. I used to go there a lot after stressful exams. Now that I hear that they’re opening one in Orange, I decided to go there right away. Chicken Shawarma with extra garlic sauce. Oh boy, I can’t get enough of the garlic sauce! They are also not stingy about it! I love this place!

Not too shabby. Nice size portions. We liked the good and gracious with extra taziki. Sorry for misspelling. Worth the price for portion size. The pis fell apart and what we had in Chicago was much denser that was the reason for four stars. We’d return next time in town. Wait time for good was about 25 min even with no one in line.

Chicken Kabab Plate is the best in town. Always here for this. Juicy and fresh. Personal favorite Shish Kabab Plate… love the tender medium rare option. Also have to add a coupe falafel . Best in town

This what a$ 10.75 chicken kabob plate looks like. Their lettuce is wilted. I kindly asked them if they had fresher lettuce instead they gave me another batch of their famous wilted lettuce. I understand cutting corners is efficient for them by pre-making their salad in advance, it just sucks for the paying customer because we end up with soggy lettuce. Maybe if they left the dressing out this would not be an issue. Third time here, with the same exact poor quality results. It’s too bad because their chicken and dressing is actually really good. The workers here(Hispanic workers) were very accommodating, their supervisors/owners not so much(gave me arrogance when I notified them of their soggy lettuce).

I was planning to go to Waba Grill but saw this and gave it a try. So much potential, so little happiness. The prices here aren’t low. The menu is fairly confusing when trying to figure out what comes with the entrees. I’m not sure why I struggled with this so much, but I found myself staring at the menu completely confused about what actually comes in the chicken kabob plate. I ended up ordering that. There was one family of 5 ordering before me. No one else in the building. I order and go sit down. I sat, and sat, and sat. FOR35MINUTES! I was pretty mind blown that it took this long to grill some chicken, but it did. At least I knew it was grilled fresh? I still can’t believe how patient I was. Finally get the food and open the mystery box to find out what’s in it. There’s no pita bread, like most Mediterranean places provide. There was chicken, rice, salad and hummus. The chicken was really good. Not worth the wait, but good. I’m still bitter about the lack of pita though. Can you tell? I think it was $ 4 extra or something on the menu. Literal LOL. Next time if I’m in the area and have a full day to kill, maybe I’ll stop by here for round 2. But probably not.

This review is solely on food handling. I saw a tall young man handle cash multiple times and food at the same time without washing his hands or using gloves. Does he have any idea of the contamination chain? Super disgusting. He needs some serious training and common sense.

Loved this place! Went in during my lunch break. Had chicken shawarma with a side salad, and I added a side of garlic potatoes. They were extremely busy and the guy at the register wasn’t too friendly, but he wasn’t rude either so it wasn’t a big deal. My meal was about $ 13 and that didn’t include a drink. The chicken shawarma, the side salad(romaine, tomatoes, onions, feta, olives and balsamic dressing) were very good, and the potatoes were delicious! It was also a hearty portion. I will definitely go back, I’m glad to have found this new spot!

This place is so good! I come here usually for lunch during the week– yes it is busy, but the food is worth the wait. Favorite menu items: –GREEKSALAD. I am eating it as I write this. –SHRIMPKABOB dip this into their house made garlic sauce and you will be in heaven. — SHISHKABOB ordered medium– juicy and flavorful. –GARLICPOTATOS– dip these in the garlic sauce. –KALESALAD– healthy and delicious. –HUMUS– you can’t go wrong with some pita bread and humus –GARLICSAUCE– seriously I need to emphasize the garlic sauce. its bomb! Great service as usual from Cody and Evan. Will return soon!

2.5 Stars — One of my boys wanted to eat at this joint when my other children wanted UC next door. No big deal, I ordered the Mixed Plate for us all to share. It came with Gyro, Chicken Shawarma, Salad, Rice, Yogurt and Pita Bread for $ 10.75. Both of their meats were extremely dry but the Gyro was better of the two. Besides the greens and yogurt, everything else was subpar. I should know, I was forced to swallow the meal since my son didn’t like it. I don’t see myself coming to this joint again since I already have a few favorite Mediterranean restos in OC to satisfy when I’m hankering this type of food.

The food here is actually very good! This review is for the customer service I’ve experienced on numerous occasions. When attempting to call in for a pick up order, either nobody answers the phone or they pick up and immediately hang up. I’ve also gotten very snarky and irritable attitudes from SOME employees as well… Not all, as others were very nice and friendly. If I were the business owner, I would be incredibly angry that my employees are turning away business.

For the price, speed, quality, and type of restaurant, I was very surprised at how good the food actually is. Will definitely be back. The fusion between middle eastern and American makes me want to try everything on the menu. Good thing it’s next to my house! 100% Halal.

My wife and I REALLY wanted to like this place. We love Middle Eastern food. Have spent much time in the Middle East, so we may be a bit biased, but we feel like we have a decent palate for good dishes. There are very few spots in the Orange area for this kind of food, so we gave it a try. The food is just ok. It’s not necessarily terrible… but for the price you are paying, there is usually a good sized portion of quality food. The main dishes were just basic and don’t grab you like other Mediterranean spots in the area do. The chicken kebab was probably the saving grace of the meal. As for sides, the fries were bland and the rice had almost zero taste… it actually has bizarre ingredients in it too that usually isn’t in Mediterranean-style rice. I don’t want to tear this place apart, but I just recommend that they take some time and really do some experiments or research on the style of food and strive to make some quality dishes. Their location is great and can be a great healthy, Mediterranean spot if they just step up their game a bit. Lastly, we were the only ones in there when we ordered and it took 15 minutes to get our food. That could be a problem when rush-hour really hits. Hope to try again sometime and find better results.

I used to like this place but the food takes too long and to top it off, the service is terrible! While I was grabbing my take out order, the cashier makes some comment about me under his breath and laughs to the employees. I told him I didn’t hear it and in the rudest tone he responds«you’re deaf.» This isn’t high school, I’m not your friend or even your acquaintance. I am a customer and the manager just laughed as his employee answered me with unnecessary sass and disrespect. I don’t need to be disrespected. I hadn’t even complained about how many people got their food before I did even though I ordered first. This place is a joke. There is way better, authentic Mediterranean food in Anaheim and you don’t have to deal with the cashier’s unnecessary attitude. Es el colmo que esten alli sin que hacer, no mas recibiendo dinero y tambien le quieren faltar el respeto a los clientes. Si yo estoy sorda, ustedes: ciegos y tarados

I love the food here. It’s so fresh and tasty and I regularly go here for lunch during the workweek. However, today after work I decided to order a gyro salad for take out for dinner. I requested that the gyro meat be on the side so that the warm gyro meat would not be on my cold salad during my drive home. Why would I be charged $ 0.75 extra for that? I have worked for restaurants for over 10 years and have never seen this type of extra charge. I would have given California Pita Grill a higher star rating but the surcharge was a real disappointment.

I have to say the food was pretty good but 24 minutes to get a kabob at lunch time is terrible. I ordered at 11:02am — a beef kabab and a chicken kabab — my food wasn’t ready until 11:26. I was one of 8 people in the place. For a business that will pretty much live off the lunch crowd, 24 minutes to get your food takes up your whole lunch break. They need to figure out a faster way to serve the food. The music was very loud inside as well. Staff was friendly — thanks Evan Couple small tweaks and it could be a 4 or 5 star

This was a great find for lunch! Reasonably priced, tasty and under $ 10 with a fountain drink. It is close to the Outlet Mall of Orange and Interstate 5. It is in a rather busy strip mall, but offers outdoor and indoor seating. If in the area again, I would definitely return.

Best Lebanese Chicken Shawerma in the world!!! For real!!! The meat is so white, so fresh, so tasty and so juicy. and their Lebanese Food salads are the best and the freshest!!! As Tony Stark stated: Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let’s just not come in tomorrow. Let’s just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There’s a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don’t know what it is, but I wanna try it. Watch«The Avengers and Shawarma» on YouTube

Let me be clear. I am so happy that they have reopened. I used to go to their Irvine joint all the time. People thought I was enough for them to sustain their business. And then one day it was replaced by the vile and bland DonerG. Anyhow, one day I heard they have started again and boy was I prepared to go to the end of the earth to eat that chicken again. The quality is still great. I have it about 3 – 4 times a week. I’d have it more if I didn’t have to drive 20 minutes to get there. The staff more or less knows my face and are very friendly. The food is awesome. I’m happy they’re here again and I will consider moving close to them just so their food is nearby.

I got the veggie plate that allowed me to get any 5 things on the appetizer/salad menu sans the grape leaves. I got baba ghanoush, Greek salad, kale salad, garlic potatoes, and fried eggplants, with a side of pita bread. My friend got the falafel wrap with a side of rice. So the baba ghanoush was pretty good, not outstanding but I’d get it again. Greek salad was alright– just standard. Kale salad was pretty delicious! The garlic potatoes… Oh my gosh. Hands down the best thing I ate there. I would come back solely for those babies. And the fried eggplants were really good as well. My friend’s side of rice was pretty bland. Meh. And her falafel wrap was underwhelming. The flavors just didn’t stand out to me. The primary reason this place gets 3 stars is because I think the portion to price isn’t great. For my veggie plate I paid $ 9 something and all in all, it was just small portions of 5 different things. Nothing too special. I’ll come back to get fried eggplant and garlic potatoes though. So goooood!

I’m glad that Pita Grill was able to find a new place to re-open their business, after closing their last shop in Irvine. They serve a variety of salads, mediterranean foods(kabobs, falafels, and shawarmas), baklava, hummus, and babaganoush(eggplant). One orders at the front cashier and then the food is prepared and brought out to one’s table. I’ve been a fan of their chicken shawarma plate and ordered that. I also really enjoyed their kibbeh that they had at their previous locations, but unfortunately this location doesn’t offer that. The chicken shawarma plate is priced at $ 8.95. It comes with rice, nicely marinated chicken, amazing creamy garlic sauce, salad and pita bread. The meal is quite filling and has wonderful flavors. I really enjoyed the chicken. I have tried the lamb/beef gyro which is priced a little bit more in the past and it was good as well, but not as good as the chicken. The falafel plate is a little cheaper but comes with the same items, I haven’t tried it, so I can’t comment on it. They do offer kabob plates as well, which start at about $ 12. There have a variety of salad options for those that are vegetarian or looking for something extremely healthy. One of their specials is a choice of 5 of their salads for $ 8. The only reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is that the food is priced a little higher than what it should be. However, the quality of the food is excellent. Everything tastes so fresh and healthy. I enjoyed my meal and if I’m in the area I would stop by again.

I haven’t had Mediterranean food too many times in my life, but from what I have tried, I’ve always enjoyed it. After a good workout one day I decided to give Pita Grill a try due to it looking like a worthy Mediterranean place with plentiful healthy options. The menu was packed with all types of plates, bowls, and salads. Most customers seemed to have gone with the very sizable plates The plates came with your choice of meat(Gyro, Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, or a few more options), a side salad, hummus, and either fries or yellow rice. While I stood on the side of the line trying to figure out whether to go with the Shish Kebab or the Gyro plate the employees seemed to be getting impatient with me. I wasn’t even holding up the line. When I finally approached the register the cook and female employee were both just staring at me like I was dumb and I felt rushed to order. I just said the Shish Kebab to get out of there which ended up coming out to $ 13(without a drink)!! The only positive experience I enjoyed here was that the meat on the two Kebabs were tender, the Greek side salad was fresh, and the rice was decent. Although the food was good, it certainly wasn’t worth $ 13 dollars and negative service. I’m being fair giving this place three stars for their food, besides that the price and service effect the rating. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
