This place is now called Thai Bangkok and seems to have been taken over recently. The sauces were pretty good, but overall, the food was bland. My biggest complaint was that the chicken seemed to have been boiled in water, and then just added to each dish as necessary. So it was rather rubbery and lacked flavor. It would have improved the food a lot if they had just cooked the chicken in the sauce for each dish.

To the outside foodie visitor, the Jacksonville Florida area can seem to be a vast wasteland. Fast food chains, questionable greasy spoons and all sorts of fake«authentic» food; the various so-called«italian pizza» places confirm this. But finally, after numerous trips to this area, my wife and I stumbled upon this actually authentic ethnic place– and it’s a thai place to boot! Siam Thai has a wonderful menu, full of goodies– the Panang Curry whether with pork, beef, chicken or shrimp– is nothing short of outstanding. The spring rolls rock; the Basil Duck is to die for. Everything is made FRESH. The degree of heat on dishes is based on a 1 to 5 scale; they will ask you every time for it. The family that runs the place are wonderful, friendly people who really do want to give you a great dining experience. Siam Thai is open Monday through Saturday. They serve lunch 11am to 2:30pm, dinner 4pm to 9:30pm. They accept all credit cards. Next time back in Jacksonville, we’ll be back!!!
