I find myself in the mall often standing in the food court looking helplessly at all of the choices and fast food available to eat. But one thing is certain… the smell, the grill, the fast pace always pulls me toward Sarku. I went to the mall today and once again i wasn’t let down. Fresh food, great flavor, generous portions, and quick in and out service. I got the shrimp and chicken teriyaki with a spring roll(didnt see the dumplings which are my favorite for sale until it was too late) and left my empty food court tray a content man.

For Mall Food, this is not too shabby. If you are hungry, I would recommend ordering double meat. I usually go for the chicken teriyaki plate with steamed rice. Sometimes I order the veggies… but they aren’t anything impressive really, just chopped cabbage and carrots. Line moves quickly most of the time, prices are pretty fair and portions are pretty large. I usually get two meals out of one chicken teriyaki plate with double meat.

5 stars for mall food? Yes. A guilty pleasure of mine. Too me it’s simply outstanding. Granted, I have only had the chicken teriyaki(double meat-no brainer) with rice and veggies. Not much I can say, the teriyaki sauce is sweetly spiced, I am sure it’s not a traditional teriyaki but who cares, it tastes good. The chicken is always tender and plentiful. I always have them add a little extra sauce for good luck. Usually works because I’m always full afterwards. So if you’re at Oak View doing some Christmas shopping stop by Sarku and fill up.

Solid food for a great price all the time. However on this visit the Asian looking man who was handling the cash register was touching money and food boxes with gloved hands. Is that hygenic? Other than that this place has great food for a great price.

The ambiance: pretty spartan The food: solid The price: fair Why eat here? The food is always hot and fresh, you can practice your Spanish(haha) and if you skip the fried rice, you can eat a ton of food for less than 400 calories. If you speak Spanish, get to know the people who work here. They won’t forget you next time!
