Had seen them and never visited them. Always went to Lowe’s or Home Depot. The place is great and there always folks to help you and answer questions. Definitely a keeper and competitively priced. Impressed and will become a loyal customer.

My husband loves woodworking and says that Menards has the best lumber prices. We have also bought many home maintenance items there. I find that they tend to sell some off-brand merchandise, but it usually works well(driveway degreaser, bug killer, sealant). The holiday displays are great!

I used to be far more of a Menards fan than I now am. I don’t specifically dislike this store, though I most certainly DO dislike how the Menards corporation now does business. It has become the Walmart of the home improvement world. Some good products, but cheap crap everywhere. But more than that, I thoroughly despise their deceptive advertising. They’ll advertise a product with a huge rebate, but they don’t have THAT product. They have one identical to it that does NOT qualify for a rebate. Menards has seen better days. And unless they straighten up some of their corporate ethics, it’ll go the route of KMart.

If I’m not mistaken, Menards was the first ginormous big box home improvement store to come to Omaha. You know, before Lowe’s and Home Depot started popping up everywhere. Like its competitors, the store is so large it’s hard to navigate if you’re unacquainted with the layout, let alone find an employee to help point you in the right direction. And after you’ve walked through the entire store looking for cement mixer(or whatever) to no avail, when you DO finally find someone to help you, they point you towards the one tiny little corner of the store you didn’t already check out. Figures. That all said, Menards has everything you’d ever need for practically any reason. From mattresses to lumber to tools to lighting fixtures to sinks and toilets to plants — even a surprisingly stocked section of dry good groceries. Grab a cart and do a couple laps around the store the next time you need a workout.

Knowledgeable employees, great selection and decent prices. I’d choose over Lowes and Home Depot any day.

I went to another store first for some plexi glass but it seemed to expensive so I went to Menards instead. I found help right away and the price was a lot cheaper. I usually find what I need at this store for a fair price.

I’m really not all that fond of Menards. My roommates shop there all the time, and it is convenient, since it’s next door to Costco. But there’s just something about the chain I just don’t care for. Maybe it’s that they try to sell too much variety, and thus don’t carry enough in the way of hardware, which is really what a HARDWARESTORE is supposed to be about. I mean, they have pet supplies and snacks, novels and car care products, they were even selling netbook computers last Christmas, all of which takes shelf space away from tools and screws and lumber and other hardware stuff. They do not accept American Express.
