My first time ever having corned beef and cabbage and I am definitely glad this is where I came. What an authentic looking Irish bar. The staff was friendly and the menu had a ton of options. Now, onto the actual meal, this was delicious. The bartender knew this was my first time, so she put the sauce on the side. I ended up drenching that delicious sauce on my whole meal. If I ever end up in Omaha again, I will definitely come back. If you live here or are just visiting, make sure you come eat here.

You feel transported out of Omaha when you enter this place, the loud Irish music, the decoration, the people sipping dark beers and the menu are all part of the experience! They have little quiet, enclosed booths that looks really nice. I had heard the Boxys were where the money was so I went with a crabmeat and asparagus one that did not disappoint. I could probably do without the sauce, but I think its traditional served like that. My boyfriend had the cottage pie which he liked but thought it was too dry. The Guinnesses are poured perfectly, you can clearly see three layers when they bring it up. Overall a really good discovery in Omaha, it must be crazy for St Patrick’s!

My boyfriend and I love it here. The food is so good; I love coming here for my Irish/British food fix. The Toad in a Hole is my usual, but the boxtys and bangers and mashed are also amazing. My boyfriend usually gets a side of the waffle fries and a bowl of the French onion soup, which is his absolute favorite soup. Brazen Head is his favorite place to get it. :) their alcohol selection is great, although I do think they need to revamp their house cocktails list. My favorite pub in Omaha!

very disappointing. I had the shepards pie and the meat was like a paste, potatos were over cooked and rubbery. Not a fan.

Delicious every time. Atmosphere feels homey. Perfectly dim light for privacy but if you wanted to do the daily crossword, you could without needing more light. Ordered takeout. toad in the hole. Ready in 10 minutes and so good! When my brother is in town, he beckons to come here. Finally, happy hour is kewwww

Food nothing special. But the décor is this place was great! Love the dark wood and the lighting here. It is a good place to grab and drink and chat with an old friend. This place is not a hopping bar, not a lot of young people which can be a good thing. I’ve been a couple times and would go back for drinks not food.

Great little pub with some pretty good food with a great price! Decent little selection of irish beers with some fairly decent irish food selections. I am in town visiting family for Thanksgiving so this was a nice get away.

We are in town for a wedding and tried this place based on all the reviews. It was amazing. Service at lunch was quick. Baked onion soup and the brigade boxty was so filling. I need a nap now! Totally worth the trek from downtown.

If you have ever been to Ireland and loved the bars there then you will love this place. My friend and I ate lunch here and walking in the door it immediately took me back to a few pubs I stopped at when I was in Ireland. The food was hot and fresh and waitstaff was as friendly as can be.

What’s not to love about the Brazen Head? — There’s a great atmosphere, and the woodwork is lovely. — Everything on the menu looks yummy. The hot wings are big and juicy, the onion soup is creamy and rich, and the potato skins are addicting. Entrée portions are big, so you may have lunch the next day! Also: waffle fries. Yesssss. — Live Irish bands on Wednesday nights after 7. It can get a little loud, so be prepared. — It’s the only place I know of that has Kilkenny, which I am quite nostalgic for. Be sure to try one of their many Irish coffees as well. — Half off apps after 10PM on weekdays for the late-nighters, like me in college. I have fond memories of this place, and still enjoy the Brazen Head for some filling food and a pint(or three).

Pleasantly surprised by the great establishment held in a strip mall, not used to seeing that where I come from. My husband had the Tex~which sandwich and that could’ve fed a family of 5, the flavor was amazing and would highly recommend for someone who likes bold and spicy. I stuck with a simple Reuben and it was as expected. Staff was prompt and friendly. Seemed like an old historic pub in middle of Boston but actually a strip mall in Omaha.

In town for business at the hospital nearby, we headed to Brazen Head Irish Pub for lunch. It’s incredibly close and a nice and quiet, sit down place, great for a business lunch. Located in a bland strip mall, the historic Irish interior is a nice surprise and the environment welcoming. Service was fast. We were seated quickly, served quickly and food came quickly. Our server kept our drinks full as well! Prices were also really great, $ 10 or $ 11 for an entrée. While everyone at the table had very yummy looking salads(both the mango salmon and cobb salad), I went against all my willpower and had the delicious reuben. It’s an Irish pub. That justifies it right? The food was good. It wasn’t outstanding, or unique or extremely memorable, but it was warm, delicious, cheap and fast. I’d definitely return, especially to try some of the Irish entrees like bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage or these boxy’s I keep reading about. Our business client also said the French onion soup is to die for.

Met friends here I hadn’t seen in a year. They suggested Brazen Head, which was walking distance from my hotel, so I thought it was perfect. I reviewed the menu and was ready to go. The main room really is gorgeous. I read here on Unilocal that everything was built in Ireland and shipped over. I assume it’s true. It’s definitely got great atmosphere. I tried two items for which Brazen Head is famous. 1. Creamy Baked Onion Soup — I’m not sure there’s anything else to be said! Aside from some stringy cheese, which makes a soup with cheese difficult to eat, there was nothing about this soup that wasn’t delicious. So smooth and creamy with a onion flavor that was not overpowering. It would have been enough by itself, but I had to try a boxty! They all sounded so good, mostly decadent. Trying to eat somewhat healthy, I opted for the veggie. I was a little concerned it would be a letdown since it only had vegetables, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The potato pancake makes a fantastic wrap — pretty light and flavorful. I imagine most of us are used to wraps being something like a tortilla… I don’t know, more of a vehicle to hold the insides in one place rather than being something that contributes to the overall flavor of the dish. The potato pancake ‘takes the cake’… get it? It was good and the veggies inside really were fresh. Top all that with the Boursin cheese sauce and this was one heck of a tasty meal. Oh… it was really too much, but I ate it all. If I ever stay at the same hotel, I will definitely walk across the street to try out another boxty. If I do, I’ll skip the soup. Both together was just too much… for me, at least. I just read my review after posting it and I’m amazed. Every time I try to make a numbered list I always seem to screw it up!

Brazen Head. An Omaha Classic. from talking with the bartender we learned the bar was made in Ireland for the location and shipped here. Always a great time the food is decent pub fare. The service is either wonderful or questionable. The patio is great to be out on but the service always sucks if we are out there. Overall though I still give it 4 stars. the fish and chips are great. the bangers and mashed are wonderful. toad in a hole is very nice. If you want a great little pub trip with some good irish fare this is your place

boxty my friends, served in a pub with a bar and other decorative items shipped over from Ireland and assembled by Irish craftsman. I couldn’t tell you if the boxty was authentic, but the bangers were. I loved this pub. its exactly what I think being in the irish pubs I’ve seen on tv and in photos would be.(my dream is visiting Ireland and the UK) the whole feel of it made my inner irishman= I have an irish great grandfather– a happy lad. he spent quite a lot of time in pubs in Ireland and England so he should know. plenty of parking out front, cheerful servers and a menu with irish dishes and ingredients. yum. raise a Toast to Brazen Head! ps. irish cheddar was delicious. as was the baked onion soup. I normally love baked potato soup but who knew it didn’t need potatoes!

I have been to Brazen Head many times before, but this time we had reservations in the Robert Emmett Room which looks like it may have been a former smoking/cigar room in its past. It has its own small bar stocked with some of the best Irish Whiskey’s around. Small enough for three tables, but with lots of comfy chairs around the perimeter. I had the Bangers and Mashed which was delicious, I couldn’t put my fork down, the sausages with gravy and caramelized onions were perfect on a bed of mashed potatoes. My friend had the Colonial Boy Boxty which are potato pancake wrapped in a variety of ingredients. I want to back and enjoy this room again one day…

I LOVE this bar! The veggie boxtys are out of this world good. My husband and I went there after a five mile run and split their quesadilla appetizer, each got a beer, and then each got our own boxtys. Ask for them to add their Irish cheddar to it. It takes it to a whole other level.(And doesn’t cost you extra!) I will definitely be coming here for St. Patrick’s Day!

It was the day before St. Patrick’s Day and all, so I thought why not head to the Brazen Head for an authentic Irish meal. Sure it was crowded, but we were able to get a table after waiting only a minute. We shared two dishes — Toad In A Hole and the County Cork Boxty. The Toad In A Hole was basically mashed potatoes with banger sausages wrapped in puffy pastry shells, all topped with sauce. Really rich and quite heavy. Not a lot of flavors popped aside from the greasy sausage meat. The boxty was a bit better — asparagus, crab meat and havarti cheese wrapped up in a slightly sweet potato pancake and topped with a creamy sauce. Again, really rich and filling and best washed down with a glass o’ Guinness. In all, the food was perfectly tasty and unique in the fact you can’t get that type of food elsewhere in Omaha. Next time, Irish food be damned, I’m ordering the Jamaican jerk wings. I also have to mention the interior — apparently it was designed and built in Ireland and then shipped and installed in that quaint little strip mall on 78th street we all love so much. Really, it is quite cozy and inviting.
