It had been several months since my last visit to Taste of Asia, and during that time, I had traveled in the U.K. and eaten at several Thai places discovered along the way. But getting back to this gem was like ‘coming home again’, with the fantastic service and tasty freshly-prepared food. A friend and I shared some crab rangoon… the lightest preparation I’ve ever seen, and the filling is so tasty. Drunken noodles with chicken, mild today, was my entrée. The owner is finally going to be taking a much-deserved vacation soon… but the place will be open during her absence, so head on in. I have another friend who’s never been there… that’s my goal for January 2016!

I’ve been here four times. And you never know what you’ll get. Just not consistent in my opinion. I’m not sure if some that work there figure«mmhmm she won’t be able to tell the difference of how it’s supposed to taste, so give her some underwhelming food». I’ve had one out of four meals here that was actually something to rave about! I think it’s because the incredibly nice woman(whom was more than surprise by my entrance) took my order. Not sure if she’s the one in charge, but if so she should be there all the time. Wish I got her name, her customer service was greatly appreciated because that was the only time my meal surpassed satisfactory. Other than that run of the mill experiences here with the service and food. I just want to like this place so bad I suppose. I mean I figure I’m not an expert but have eaten enough Asian food to know what’s good or not… maybe I’m wrong. Anyways I’ve tried the seafood phở, honestly wasn’t impressed. I’ve recevied bland(level 5) drunkin noodles & non devein shrimp spring rolls with every ingredient inside them hard & crispy. Hard & crispy spring rolls, really? And oh so watered down peanut sauce to come with it. Oh but the crab ragoon was good… Look for eating alone the $ 20 price I’ve paid I would expect you to care about what you’re serving to your customers is all. But me being me I’ll most likely give them ONE more shot, not anytime soon. I hope & pray it improves. If not, my money doesn’t mind going elsewhere.

Tried Taste of Asia tonight! Best in town! We got the crab ragoon, egg rolls, and the pad thai! Definitely going here again! The staff is very family oriented, and friendly!

I used to like coming here but the quality has gone to the crapper. I ordered the yellow curry with beef and Vietnamese coffee. I had to dig to see if there was any real beef offered. I found few pieces and almost all were grisly and inedible. I came back to give them another try, but never again. If the owner doesn’t care, I don’t either. Waste of my money. I had a few bites and left after paying by bill.

Came here to have dinner with my bf and we ordered rare beef noodle(phở) and marinated grilled pork with rice. Honestly, not the best phở you can get in town. The phở broth was not flavorful and the broth was not clear. Now I came from a family where we eat phở so when I see broth that is not clear I know the restaurant doesn’t not cook their broth with beef bones(to get the clear broth) but instead they used flavoring agents like MSG, etc. The grill pork was small and the meat was dried and not real flavorful like how authentic Vietnamese grilled pork should be. I would only recommend you to try their bubba tea because they actually do a pretty good job here. My favorite is the red bean bubba tea. The drink is not so sweet and is just right with a blend of red beans. If you want good Vietnamese foods, check out Saigon restaurant or Saigon surface. Or drive to Lincoln and get yourself some decent Viet foods.

This place has very satisfying phở. I was sad to see Kim Sun’s Seafood Grill go, but this seems to be a worthy successor, albeit with a little less character than the insane and clashing décor that Kim’s once had. The staff was friendly and prompt and the prices on the menu were very reasonable, covering Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. At the risk of appearing to be a lush, I’ll admit that I was a little disappointed to see that they didn’t have any alcohol for sale. I’ll be back soon to branch out and try some other menu items as the phở seemed to be pretty well put together.

This was a great place for lunch. Clean and welcoming staff made the experience even better. Their shrimp spring roles and veggie Phở was wonderful! I would highly recommend you stop in and try it for your self!

Stopped in for lunch had the red curry with beef and an order of Pad Thai with chicken. curry was well worth it good sized portion that filled me up. the Pad Thai had a scorched taste almost burnt, think it was the sauce for the noodles.

Sometimes, I’m forced to go to new places because my favorite places don’t pick up their phone. Sigh* I decided to take a chance because the reviews on Unilocal were good and Unilocal usually never fails! This place used to be Kimson Grill(which I tried before and hated) I figured since this was new management it would be different. Unfortunately I am still not a fan. While they disappointed me in different ways than Kimson, nevertheless I don’t think I’ll be returning. To me, the flavors just weren’t right. I ordered the vermicelli noodles w/pork and egg rolls($ 8.95). Pork was a little overdone(which didn’t bother me too much) but what did was that it was way too salty and overpoweringly lemongrass flavored. The sauce for the noodles had way too much nuoc mam(fish sauce) and definitely not savory enough. Also very oddly enough, they included ginger in the flavor profile which is very uncharacteristic for the dish. The entire balance of the dish was just way off. In addition, they only included one cut up egg roll. It was pretty sad. The price for this dish at Vietnamese Asian is only $ 6.95, and has way better flavors and more egg rolls. Sorry but I’m gonna stick to Vietnamese Asian from now on. The last thing though, which is why I’m giving 2 stars is that the shrimp in the spring rolls I ordered were not deveined. Maybe it was just that one shrimp? How many shrimp did I eat that weren’t deveined? Who knows. I found one though, halfway through eating, and it was pretty gross. I mean isn’t it standard practice at all restaurants to devein shrimp? The spring rolls itself were also just mostly stuffed with rice noodles, only half slices of shrimp, some cilantro, and lettuce.(Which is standard but I mention this because it consisted of mostly rice noodles.) Dipping sauce(peanut hoisin) for this was a little watery, but fine. I paid around $ 14 for takeout and to me, it just isn’t worth it. Anywho, I don’t see myself coming back here again anytime soon.

Nice little Asian restaurant with extremely friendly staff made up of many family members. Food was tasty, the tablecloths under the glass needed to be replaced as the edges were quite dirty. Probably should be done a minimum of once a day if not more. especially when you are using white! Used a Living Social but would have been pleased a full price… an enjoyable meal.

Taste of Asia is great, better than the sum of its parts, because it means there is finally a phở place in Omaha that I like. As other reviewers have alluded to, until now, the best phở places were in Lincoln. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly, a family operation. We have met the owner along with her various family members, all of whom are extremely personable and clearly understand the value of a competent, approachable service staff. You can choose from amongst several Thai, Viet, and Chinese dishes. I’ve had the phở, the drunk noodles, and the pad thai so far, all pretty great. The portions are quite large, and in fact the small bowl of phở is more than I can finish. They mean it when they say that«10 is very spicy» on the 10-point scale, by the way, so use with caution. I got the pad thai at a 9 and holy crap. And the food comes in a boat! I dunno why, but it’s pretty cool. And little food comes in a little boat. Maybe they’re Lonely Island fans. Support this place, they’re worth it.

An aptly named joint with a smattering of Lao, Thai, Vietnamese and americanized Chinese food. Taste of Asia is a huge space with pretty spartan decorations and the requisite fish tank. Started with the fresh spring rolls and they were solid but could have used some more fresh herbs. Peanut sauce was homemade and tasty. I ordered the beef Laab and it was not very hot temperature wise when it got to my table. Good flavors of chili and herbs though. I ordered it without tripe. My wife ordered garlic chicken which was good buy quite salty and maybe a tad overcooked. My son had sweet and sour chicken which he snarfed. It wasn’t fried so I liked that. It was also not as hot as it should be but great for a kid. Overall, a solid neighborhood Asian joint with friendly service and good prices. Not so great for kids since it is super quiet in there. Give it a shot with a Living Social…

Atmosphere: The location is a nice shopping mall strip with plenty of parking. Walking in the aromas of the food flood your nose and are greeted by the nice employees. The menu is simple yet contains many options. Food: I have tried many of their items, but the best are the spring/egg rolls and the Phở. I have tried about 6 different places for phở around omaha including Saigon, Omelet Viet Restraunt, Vietnamese Restraunt, and others but the taste of Phở at Taste of Asia is like no others. The broths tastes like is has been boiled for hours and has never been watered down. The garnishes are always fresh and explode In your mouth when you take a bite. I love that they don’t add MSG or sugar like the other places bc it seems a lot healthier for you! Service: Even if the Phở wouldn’t be as great as it is, the the friendliness of the owner would bring you back. She spends time getting to know all her customers and about their preferences. She’s always asking customers if there’s anything she could to improve on which is amazing because she actually cares. Time and time again I go to Taste of Asia because of the amazing food and the amazing service it provides. Hands downs the best place for Phở in Omaha for sure!

I came here expecting to eat at my favorite phở place in town, except when I got there I learned that it has been taken over by a new owner. I was rather upset at first, but decided to give this place a try anyway. After all, I love phở. I had the opportunity to speak with the new owner, a woman of Hmong descent from Fresno. She said she wants to make phở that is healthier – without msg and sugar. And that the phở would be California-style. If you have read my previous reviews, you’d know I am from the Bay Area and have been to So Cal several times. Before I review the food, I want to include how awesome it is that an Asian place has it’s own identity. I also respect the owner’s ideas on how she would make her food. Now, the phở… The phở is not California-style. It has most of the garnishes, but the broth does not taste the same. This does not make the phở taste bad, it just tastes different and that’s ok. I am personally a big fan of msg. I love msg. Many will not agree with me here but it’s an important component of phở. I’ve been to phở places that use very little msg and the broth still tastes really good. So maybe sprinkle just a little msg in the broth? Pretty please? I did share this with the owner and she said it wouldn’t change her mind. Again, mad respect. Now, spring rolls come in either shrimp or tofu with peanut sauce. My 7 year old likes it. Good enough for me. The café sua da(vietnamese coffee) was a little too watered down at first, but they fixed that for me. I like that it’s not on the menu. Makes me feel a little special for asking for it. Overall, I would come back again only because I like the owner, but I do not like the phở. It lacks… Msg… and sugar…

The atmosphere is simple and quaint. Walking in doesn’t feel like a maze. The crab Rangoon looked different than what we were used to but my gosh was it a pleasant surprise! It was made fresh for us, not reheated. The accompanying sauce was not a bottle sweet and sour but something more unique. I ordered the beef phở and my boyfriend got the combo. The broth was not overly salty like I’ve had at some places. The lemon basil had a fresh small– it couldn’t have been sitting around. Staff is attentive and friendly and prices are very reasonable This will be my Omaha spot for phở for sure :)

This place has really awesome fresh spring rolls; however, I was very unimpressed with the Phở. I didn’t really like the previous place either. My favorite Phở is now in Lincoln. The people are very friendly and your food will taste good, but not because it is fresh or authentic, but because it’s like most asian places, full of fat and sugar. It was okay. I probably will not go here again, unless I want some fresh spring rolls and something to eat that is not super expensive.
