If you want beautifully installed hardwood flooring in your Olympia area home, I highly recommend Empire Today. Last year, I bought a midcentury modern house that needed restoration and updating. I was able to negotiate the sales price of the house down substantially in part because of shabby-​looking carpeting that I knew I would replace with the clean modern look of hardwood. In my opinion, hardwood flooring is well worth the initial investment because it is more durable and continues to look good for decades.
I obtained bids from 3 local wood flooring companies as well as Empire. I waited a year to do more research and make a decision. I decided to go with Empire and have them do just the upstairs to see whether the quality of the work would be good enough to contract for the rest of the house. I felt that Empire would provide a higher level of customer service than the other 3 companies. Indeed, one well known local company never responded to my request that they itemize their bid, and their estimate seemed to leave open the possibility of additional unknown charges.
With Empire, the process was clear and straightforward from beginning to completion. Empire’s product line included the hardwood that I wanted, and the company promised to do the job on my timeline and offered an impressive customer satisfaction guarantee.
Initially, the work was estimated to take 3 or 4 days, but it was finished in two days. I want to give high praise to Sergey who headed the installation crew. He and his team demonstrated a work ethic and attention to detail that you will find in very few contractors. They were polite, professional, and worked seemingly non-​stop for two days. The work was not easy — it involved a staircase, loft, walk-​in closet, and master bedroom; and before installation, they had to remove stubborn particleboard sheets that had been nailed over the plywood underlayment. Sergey and his team left the place immaculate after the first day’s work and again when they finished the job. The quality of their work was impeccable and highly skilled. The results are stunning.
Based on my experience with its hardwood flooring sales, product, and installation, I think Empire has put together a solid team of professionals who are responsive and driven to do high quality work in the Olympia area (and the South Sound area in general). Kudos to Empire!

Ok so my dad was the customer but he had such an awesome experience I had to share it. He made an appointment with Empire and they came out and the guy was great. I helped my dad pick a color that worked for carpeting as well as vinyl for the kitchen and snap together hardwood for his office. My dad negotiated a little and got the price he wanted at that point. Bottom line is the service, quality, and product looks amazing and he is so happy. All the workers that came did a great job and worked hard. The job was done in 3 days. He probably could’ve saved a little by going with another company but could only say great things about the whole experience. Good job Empire!

I was a bit skeptical of Empire, as they’ve received mixed reviews in other geographical areas, but I made an appointment online to have them come to my new house in Olympia to see what they’d offer. Matt arrived on time, and couldn’t have been more pleasant. He showed me lots of options, and was knowledgable. He surely had more appointments that day, although he was relaxed, patient and there was no pressure whatsoever for me to buy. I’ll readily admit the next-​day installation and the 0% financing for one year were speaking loudly to me, so I decided to go with Empire.
The next day two men came to start installing the flooring in the kitchen and entryway. They did a wonderful job, and were so thorough. The first couple of hours they methodically figured out how they were going to approach the job so that it was look its best. They were professional and clearly invested in the job being done well.
One of the men returned the following day to finish the flooring. At 10 AM that day the four man crew also arrived to install the carpet and vinyl. The four guys were simply amazing. Matt had said that as the job was a big one he wasn’t positive they’d be able to finish in two days and might need the morning of the third day. Well, those four guys worked until after 11 PM. There was always someone working, although surely they must have taken breaks. They were helpful, fun, professional and obviously very hard working. They finished up the and proudly gave me a tour of all of the things they’d done. I simply could not have been more impressed.
Will I use Empire again? Without hesitation.
